Chapter Roulette (1)
Dosch
‘Boss.’ Mourad said for the third time. It rang hollow to my ears, my eyes focused on the game in front of me. He knew better than to interrupt me at a game of poker. The world had to literally be on fire. The five of us at this table were high rollers of the highest degree. Cameron Marriott, owner of the top leading tech company in Terra was about to win this round and the three million Runars that came with it. ‘Boss.’ He said again and I felt the vein in my forehead twitching in anger.
‘What?’ I grunted between closed lips, my cigar dangling dangerously close to falling on top of my deck. I was seriously contemplating using his big ass hand, which were leaning next to my poker chips at the moment, as my ash tray.
The entire table switched from staring in each other’s eyes to staring at my bodyguard, including me. If eyes could kill he would be ten bullets deep right about now.
‘S-she’s here.’
‘Who’s here?’ my voice a deadly menace.
’Elmrose.’
He said her last name and my entire soul came through my ears. Not only was she in a casino for some reason but in my number one gambling den of the country. She must have known where she was walking into, since the place was literally called Rios’ Rich Gaming Club.
I stared at the table and folded my hand. ‘I’ll be right back.’
I marched towards the VIP section, overlooking the casino floors. Mourad and Marcus flanking me as usual.
There were about a thousand Rainers on the floor below but I didn’t even need to ask where she was. My eyes found her in literally under two seconds. She was wearing a red tight fitting dress, with a deep V neck and those long ass legs were accompanied by some black stiletto’s. My groin twitched.
Her auburn hair in long loose curls, lips red and smiling wide at something Skylark was saying. Olive was there too and Bronn. What were they doing here?
As if her eyes could also find me whenever and wherever we were she glanced upwards, straight into my dark gaze. She was startled for a second but she composed herself quickly. She gave me a small smile and a wave. A goddamn wave. I didn’t give any reaction back. ‘Bring her to the VIP.’ I rumbled. ’Leave the others below. I don’t need the hen den to join us for this conversation.’
My wives were also somewhere in the dining area, so everything about tonight had to be carefully considered. Marcus and Mourad were fully aware though, so they would keep them away from me when she was here.
I sat myself down on the leather couch. Music was thumping, champagne flutes were already stashed out in front of me. Caviar and cigars already placed on a tray next to me.
‘Some chocolate and strawberry’s.’ I asked the waiter. She didn’t really fancy caviar at all. Chocolate she could literally kill for, so she would be getting that tonight. Anything for my..- I had to halt my own thoughts. Not my girl. She could never be mine. Even though she technically was.
Mourad was guiding her from the back, his hand on her lower waist. I needed to have a talk with him again about touching her. She was not happy by the way those green eyes were piercing me in half right now. She looked goddamn hot when she was angry.
‘What is going on?’ she said. Cheeks flushed.
‘You tell me?’ I slowly drawled. I sat back on the leather couch and sipped from my Fae whiskey slowly. Never breaking eye contact and leaving a long pause.
