Galaxy Of Hope

Chapter Over

‘What about this one?’ I asked Oak, while popping a blueberry in my mouth. We were on his terrace, a feeble sun was out. The January cold not being forgiving for this part of Rivellin.

I was back on the apartment search, being not able to train much because Ash and Dean were out of town for their bro trip. So I must find that apartment now, before my life becomes the hectic mess it always has been again.

Oak was still in his grey sweatpants and hoodie even though it was basically noon. He was still grieving over his first dad and I had tried my best to cheer him up. Yet, in him not being able to get dressed in his usual perfect ensemble, showed me that he was still hurting very much. Taking him on my apartment search clearly wasn’t doing the trick.

I closed the laptop. ‘Are you okay?’

He gave me an exasperated smile and gently went through my hair with a loving look in his blue eyes, making me melt.

‘I want you here with me Lux, not somewhere in the city.’

I rolled my eyes and popped another blueberry. ‘I already told you….I want something of myself.’

‘Have you thought about Vincent? You need somebody up there to protect you babe. It’s not that simple. If you stay here with me, we don’t need Andrew anymore.’

That thought alone made me determined to find myself an apartment. I was not ready to say goodbye to Andrew yet, not when we had ended things so poorly. A part of me never wanted to give up on our friendship and another part of me knew it was over.

He hasn’t been himself since that night.

That night changed everything between us.
