Galaxy Of Hope

Chapter Out

The next few days Andrew was still a little out of it. I was besting him sometimes at training, which showed just how much he was actually not okay. When I got another good kick in and he nearly went down from it I stopped.

‘Keep going Princess.’ He grunted from a half crouch. ‘Why are you stopping?’

I sighed. ‘You are still not okay. Have you been checked out yet?’

‘It was hypothermia, not a heart attack princess. I’m fine.’ He stood up and stretched his neck. Cracking his knuckles and was back in a fighting stance but I was not. I put my hands on my hips, silently scowling him for being this crazy about his own health.

‘Lux.’ He was annoyed now at my lack of participation.

‘No. I want to make sure you are fine.’

‘That is not your job.’ He snapped.

‘Fine. But this isn’t either.’ I snapped back.

We stood there staring at each other, mood tense.

‘I’m asking Oak to join me at the event tonight. You need to take a night off.’ I was going to Baylor’s birthday party at Rivellin center. She had rented out a section of her favorite pub and had invited a close group of friends, which didn’t include any of my boyfriends. Jax was there but he was off course going to be waisted as fuck tonight so Andrew would have to bodyguard me.

‘He has class, Lux.’ Andrew added coldly.

‘He has tutoring. He can reschedule.’

‘I’m going.’

‘God you are impossible sometimes.’ I moaned, reached for my water bottle and bag. I was about done with this day. ‘I’m getting ready.’

I started walking and he followed me in silence.

I was wearing my mom jeans with rips on the knees, a black low-cut bodysuit and my yellow chunky vest. My chunky white sneakers where the last of my casual outfit, as was my hair which I didn’t do much with today. I had a low top-bun in and my naturally unruly, curly hair was living his best life. My make-up was also minimal.

Baylor and Jax were sitting in their section at the back. Bronn and Olive sat next to them, already neck deep in pints. Sky was already there, accompanied by Lenn. I was the only ‘single’ person here, but I had brought my bodyguard. Who had seated himself in between our section and the rest of the bar. On a barstool, watching the game with one eye and watching me with his other. He had told me to behave but I was still worried about his health so I had no intention of making it worse tonight.

‘Can we go?’ I pleaded. He stared at me as if I had grown three heads. Placing his water down on the bar. ‘What happened?’

‘It’s nothing.’

‘What happened, Lux.’

I had to stop my trembling hands. I needed to get Andrew out of here before he noticed creepy Mike coming out of the bathroom.

‘Did something happen in there?’

‘In where?’

‘Don’t play dumb.’

I sighed, pretending to be casual. ‘I’m tired. I just want to sleep.’ I had to stop my urge to glance backwards. ’Let’s just go, okay. Please.’ I pleaded. Eyes big.

Just as he was about to comply his eyes flicked to the back, where I assumed Mike came out. I saw the shadows pass over Andrew’s faze in a dark blur. As if he had summoned the demon from below. Mike was about to die.

‘Did he hurt you.’ He asked, voice ice-cold and eyes still behind my shoulder. His jaw was clenching so hard I was afraid he was going to fuck up his teeth.

‘N-no.’

He took it as a yes and basically levitated towards Mike. He had him in a head grip in under two seconds, the asshole was yelping up a storm and everyone in the bar had now noticed the scuffle. Andrew dragged him outside by his neck, Mike was crying and yelling for help but nobody was coming near Andrew at the moment. It was like coming near an atomic bomb.

I hurried along, but could not keep up. People kept on jumping in front of me to stare at the showdown happening outside. I was suddenly worried for Andrew, considering mike was a big guy and he was off his game still. But that worry soon evaporated and I felt stupid. Of course he would be no match for Andrew Ko. He was on the ground, Andrew had his head in vice lock and was whispering death threats in his ear for all I knew, because he was the color of chalk at the moment and I couldn’t hear anything Andrew was whispering.

He dropped Mike and he scuttled along like a scared rabbit, nearly tripping over his own feet as he was trying to make haste.

‘You didn’t have to do that.’ I added feebly. Feeling small and alone at the moment.

The rain was coming down hard and I was already shivering.

He glanced my way, removed his own jacket to hug me with and pulled me close.

‘He didn’t do anything right?’ he asked again. And I shook my head against his chest.

‘Just trying to intimidate me.’

That released a deep growl from within his chest as he rubbed my back harder.

‘Let’s go.’ He said. ‘I need to get you out of the rain.’

Together we walked to a taxi and sat down on the backseat. I did not move from his side and he didn’t move away from the hug either.
