All of us dressed in all black was quite a sight. I was not sure whether this would make us less inconspicuous or more. The forest was a dark wasteland of little to no light. We had chosen nighttime to make our ploy. The cemetery was about a half-hour walk away from our starting point, which we had reached by Helicar. Several Scorpio’s were flanking the entrance of the forest. Making sure the seven of us were protected. Who was going to protect us from whatever awaited us at the cemetery though? It was an enchanted Fae cemetery full of booby traps. Fun times.
Andrew was taking the lead on this mission. He was now facing the group and giving a hell of a speech. We were going over all of our intel and were lining up the plan one more time. I was to stay close to Oak and Ash, the entire time. They would be flanking me. Jax and Dosch would close the group and flank the back and Andrew and Sebastian were taking the lead. Andrew closed his speech with some last words for me. ‘Princess.’ He sternly stated. ‘You will do exactly as I say, to the T. Are we understood?’
I walked forward and sighed. ‘Yes, sir.’
By the tone of voice I used everyone knew I was lying through my teeth.
‘I swear to god, sweet cheeks. I’m about to tie you up and leave you behind.’
All of us knew I was not good at taking orders and all of us knew I was probably not going to. Making everyone grumpy already. I could tell by the way Ash was fidgeting and Dosch was stern eyeing me from the back. Oak was a rigid statue, also not a good sign. Even Sebastian looked less cheery and that was really concerning to me.
I was like a bird that flies with freedom.
‘That won’t bring us to the Fae Glass now does it?’ I snapped. Because they would not be able to touch it without me. They needed me.
‘Would you two shut it.’ Groaned Andrew from the front. ‘Princess. Please.’ He begged and I shut my mouth again.
We walked on in silence, preparing for what came next.
