Chapter Murderous (1)

When the madman calls, you come running. It was something I couldn’t do anything about.

He was angry. Really fucking murderous angry. Vincent had thrown everything on his desk against the wall and continued raging. Andrew had moved closer and closer and was now quietly shielding me from his boss. ‘Mr. Orion.’ He started. Wrong move.

Vincent came his way and smiled so wide his entire face looked like a creepy horror version of himself. ‘You got anything to say, Andrew? Say it!’

‘No sir…’ he decided. ‘Maybe we should talk about what happened in private.’

Wrong again. Now his gaze went to me. ‘In private huh.’ He drawled. He was so quick in his movements that I screamed in surprise. He had reached for me and had dragged me by my neck to the wall. Squeezing. ’You think you are more clever than me, beautiful. Don’t you?’ his spit had landed on my cheeks, yet I could not answer he was pressing too hard on my neck. My vision swarmed. I panicked.

Scratched at his fists but he didn’t budge a millimetre. I was not getting in enough air. The panic causing hyperventilation. My chest rising and falling quickly.

‘Sir.’ Andrew tried again but more firmly. Clearly had some balls.

‘You like this one, don’t you Andrew?’ he squeezed harder.

‘Sir, she can’t breathe.’ His voice dropped. He was trying to contain his anger but it was seeping through and Vincent saw that. He loosened his grip a little.

‘Take your gun.’ He said to Andrew.

‘My gun?’

‘Am I speaking another language, your fucking gun Andrew.’

Andrew raised it.

‘Point it at her temple.’ His fist was now holding me, not squeezing. My panicked eyes glanced over at Andrew who had not yet aimed his gun at my head. He had his poker face on, but I could see a slight panic behind those brown eyes I came to care for.

Vincent squeezed, way harder this time and I whimpered. Clawing at his fists again. My legs trembling. Andrew pointed the gun at my temple and he eased up a little bit. I drew in a hard, shuddering breath and my eyes were big and full of tears now as I glanced at Andrew.

Vincent got so close to my ear, I could smell his cologne. His entire body flush against me. ‘If I want him too, he will pull the trigger, Lux. Don’t ever forget that. He doesn’t like you, he doesn’t love you. All Andrew knows is loyalty to me.’ He let go and I sank to the floor, clutching my neck, my face. I was gasping for air. Thick tears streaming down.

Andrew’s gun clicked off again and I saw relief for a fraction of a second. He sank down to raise me up. With trembling legs I walked back to the chairs. Seeking for support at Andrew’s arm.

The motel room was dark when we opened it. I had tried to start the conversation many times but always stopped when I saw the murderous look on his face. The first question I asked wasn’t the smartest probably but I had to know. ‘Would you do it…’ I said. Voice hoarse from the assault, it would bruise severely tomorrow.

He turned around and glared at me, so intently, I froze on the spot.

‘The-’

‘I know what you mean!’ he shouted.

‘W-would you…?’

He sneered. ’Lux, you think because I hang out with you for four months that I suddenly would betray my own boss? The man who saved my life? Yes, I would pull that trigger if he asked me.’ He dryly stated and I gasped from the impact of it, hurting almost as much as those hands had on my neck. He ignored that and went into the bathroom to clean up, slamming the door behind him. I don’t know what hurt worse. I was so stupid thinking Andrew had cared for me. Off course I was just a job. All those small little moments we shared meant nothing in the end and in another six months he would walk out of my life again, probably glad to be rid of me.

I had went outside to get some air and was seated on the bench, arms around my legs. It was cold but I could barely feel it. Andrew stormed out in his towel, fresh from the shower. He saw me sitting there and sighed in relief. ‘FUCK!’ he yelled and hit the wall hard. ‘I thought you were gone… get inside. Now!’

I glared at him. Eyes still red from being choked out. Heart sill bleeding from all the low blows.

’Don’t make me drag you in there Lux!’ he shouted again and I flinched from his ice cold tone and those ice cold eyes.

‘Fuck you.’ I could barely recognise my own voice. The hurt lacing it nearly making me double over.

’Fuck you too. Let’s go. NOW princess!’ A small flicker of worry fell over his pupils, like he knew how much his anger towards me was hurting me. He reached for my arm and I slapped his hand away.

‘Stay the fuck away from me.’ I screamed but stood up and slapped him again anyway.

He laughed a dangerous cold chuckle which I didn’t recognise with him at all. ‘Where was that fire an hour ago huh?’ Andrew was furiously screaming in my face ‘When he had your neck in vice grip!’ My mind not registering why he was so damn angry anyway. He dragged me inside and I growled ferociously in his face. ‘Otto had my neck in such a vice grip!’ I screamed. ‘It’s a fucking trigger!’

‘Well we need to work on that!’ He yelled back.

‘We don’t need to work on anything. When we get back you are gone. I’m not spending another day with you!’ I screamed even louder. Both of us panting from anger.

’Because I said I would pull the trigger princess? Are your little feelings hurt?’ he mocked my voice.

I slapped him even harder, straight across his jaw. Another one at the other side. ‘I hate you.’ I spat at him. How he was acting right now was nothing like the man I came to like. Came to care for. He was not the man I knew. He was not.
