The vampire king rubbed his neck after he successfully escaped the death clutch.

The angel queen curtsied and followed by all the others, disappeared into the night.

I looked back at the chess I made and the chess pieces were gone.

I was a bit frustrated that my beautiful carvings have gone to waste.

Next morning when my maid Leto escorted me to the soldier’s barracks, I heard a lot of cheerful yelling.

I just noticed, but Leto is also extremely happy, her stern expression replaced by a small smile, hard to avoid.

“Leto, what happened?”

She stopped suddenly as if woken from a daze and was surprised to hear me talking.

Oh, I forgot that I started talking just yesterday!

After I registered as a soldier, which is weird since I’m just 7, I was left alone among grown men.

I rushed back and was given a uniform and shown where I can sleep.

I slept with 19 other new recruits in a hall and I was searching for personal space like a thirsty man stranded in a desert, searching for an oasis.
