From Princess To Queen

Chapter 2

Business

“Clara, come here. We have some business to discuss.” King Lyon links her through his mind.

“Coming, father, let me finish my training, and I will be there shortly.”

“Don’t dilly dally, Clara. This is extremely important, and I cannot wait for later.”

“Don’t worry, Dad. I will be there promptly.” Clara links back, rolling her eyes sarcastically.

She blocks out the others so they cannot read her thoughts as she finishes training. She is sparing with two of her guards, and they are perfect and match her in every hit, kick, and punch. They are flawless, and they should have helped train her privately. Others watch and see how she dances around them, making every move look effortless. She tells Kingslie she has to see her father and takes her leave.

“Father, I am here.”

“Come in, Clara, have a seat.”

“Where is Mom at, Dad? Shouldn’t she be here too since she is the queen?”

“You know where she is, Clara, so do no longer ask that.”

“I want to see her. Why do you keep her from me? Or is she dead?”

“Let’s get to business since you will take over as the next princess of all packs. This is important for you to know the ins and outs of The who’s and what. I have tried to groom you, but you always keep running away, which will stop today.”

“Clara, there is an alpha who is trying to take over my position at no cost, and you need to be fully aware of this and understand the danger that you are in, which includes our entire kingdom of werewolves and all other supernaturals. He will stop at nothing to get here, and I am afraid that means pretending to be your mate, and he will use magic to ensure he gets my spot. We, meaning you, must be on your guard and not allow this to happen.”

“Great more pressure I have to endure; thanks, Dad, thanks a lot.”

“I know you do not like this, but it is what it is, and you are my firstborn. Are my only offspring okay? I have loved you so much and thought I did right by grooming you for this position I know you will be great at.”

“Dad, I know I will be great at it too, but being great at this also means being a great fighter or warrior, and you have everyone holding back fighting me. I need the challenge, and you know this why do they have them holding back from me?”

“I don’t want you getting hurt or them hurting or killing you, Clara. I must protect my children, meaning you and my kingdom.”

“I want more, Dad; I need to fight and feel they can trust me to lead them. I am not getting that from them all because of you. That will change starting tomorrow; no ifs, ands, or buts about it. They must know I am their leader and better than all. How can I lead my kingdom without question if I cannot do this?”

“They respect you, dear; they do. You can lead from in here where it is safe.”

“NO, Dad, I will no longer play your stupid little games. I will leave and find my pack to run, or you will let me train with my kingdom at full capacity like everyone else! GOT IT?”

With all the yelling going on, there was a knock on the door, and the people entered, interrupting the king and his daughter, having a heated discussion. The men waited until there was a slight break in the discussion to interrupt them for the meeting set up a few weeks back.

“Your majesty, sorry for the interruption, but your guests have arrived and are outside the door waiting to enter,” George says kindly.

“Send them in, please; hopefully, we weren’t too loud in our discussion.”

George just looked around, feeling uncomfortable, telling his king they were loud and everyone passing by could hear them since the door was wide open. Only then did Matthew realize that the door had been opened, and he turned red with embarrassment. The king gives his daughter the evil eye for being such a snot and disrespecting him as a king and a father. She sat there and rolled her eyes at him.

“Sorry, gentlemen, for the outburst you witnessed with my daughter, Princess Clara.”

“No problem, sir. I am Dunken, the Beta of Stone Pack, and this is my alfa Xavior Stone.”

Clara turns around and sees the two men she had sparred with moments ago and darn near shit her pants. They both smirked at her and shook her and her father’s hands.

“Nice to meet you, Princess Clara, and thanks for the spar today.” Alpha Xavior quirked his brow while kissing her hand, sending sparks up her arm.

“Sure, anytime, alpha.” Clara’s face blushes a light rose color.

“King Lyon, if you don’t mind, if I may give some input about the discussion you and Clara were discussing?”

“Go ahead, son, be my guest. I will listen to what you may have to say.”

“Thank you, sir; Clara has a point; she is a powerful fighter, but the others hold her back, and to be honest, it makes her look weak, and the rest of your kingdom looks weak as well. If she cannot fight or at least be taught at full capacity to fight, she and your kingdom will fall to Alpha Felix. We both know this is not what we want to see.”

The king sighs, knowing he’s right about his daughter and kingdom. But he is at his wit's end, trying to keep her on the property and keep her safe. Clara sat there while the men were discussing business, but Lydia was howling Mate in her head, and Clara blocked her out. Lydia connected with Xavior’s wolf, Cyberg, and he was also annoying Xavior. Xavior had to block Cyberg out, but he had been screaming mate for a few hours.

“Son, your right, although she is not a good fighter and needs to be taught..” Xavior cut off Matthew.

“Sir, with all due respect, Clara pinned me and my beta in seconds flat. She is a conditioned fighter but not challenged enough.”

“Dad, I have been telling you this for a while, but you never listen. Now you listen to HIM?”

“Xavior, I appoint you and Dunken to train my daughter and do as she wishes. Please don’t hold back; I will look into your training. This will start at 5:30 am tomorrow, understood, young lady?”

“YES! Finally, some real training; thanks, Dad, you won’t regret it.”

“I already am; now, this Felix guy, what have you learned?”
