Being Let Go

Matthew helped his pack move into the new homes in the kingdom and get jobs; those that wanted to go did so, and only a few still needed to move as they were too old and were happy to stay where they were living. Retired alphas made sure that all would be taken care of. Since the alphas and betas were still young enough to travel and fight, they helped take care of the new land given to them by their new king. Libby was kicked out of the pack because she was trying to make the moves on King Matthew, and Meira saw what she was doing and immediately banned her as a rogue. While traveling, she encountered a pack when she ran into Alpha Shane. His beta was about to tear her heart out when Shane told him she was his mate.

He took her home and initiated her into his Forsaken Blood Pack pack. Afterward, they completed the mate bond and marked each other. They made arrangements to have a party and have their ceremony and wedding vows. She would be introduced to the pack as their Luna, but Shane knew nothing about her, and she was banking that he would never find out.

Back at the castle, Meira had arrived home from the pack hospital as she visited the doctor. She had not been feeling very well for a few days and wanted to understand why she felt like this. The doctor gave her the great news she was having a baby and could not wait till she told her husband.

“Matthew, I have some good news, love.” As she walks into her husband’s office.

“What is it, darling?” he says, pulling her onto his lap and kissing the mark on her neck.

“We are going to have a baby. It will be a boy, our firstborn, who will take over as king when the time comes.”

“My darling, I am so elated I cannot wait to meet our son or daughter.”

“We will have more, don’t worry, and they all will be great at ruling our kingdom and helping other packs grow and become the best they can be.”

Matthew is elated and announces his next heir to the kingdom with pride. He reported to all the packs, letting them know he would be a father in a few months. Since she is a witch and Matthew is a Lycan, they expected her pregnancy to last about five months, not the typical nine months it takes an average human. She told Matthew what the doctor told her, he was going to be strong and that she was already five weeks along. This was going to be a very fast pregnancy.

Two days later, they received an announcement from Alpha Shane, The Silent Walkers Pack, saying that he had found his mate and they would be having a ceremony in three weeks, and they requested that the queen and king be there. Matthew and his beloved accepted the invite. They go to The Silent Walkers’ pack and see Shane and Libby have their wedding ceremony. Shane also takes over his father’s pack at the same time. The King and Queen stay for a few days, get to know the group better, and draw a stronger alliance with the packs that have come around for the ceremony.

Three weeks later, they get word that Libby is pregnant with their first pup, and everyone is ecstatic. She was eight weeks along, and her spouse was thrilled that he would soon be a father. Both women should give birth to their pups around the same time but only a few weeks apart. They will go to school together, which will help bring their packs together and become even stronger.

Addison James was born, and King Matthew was elated. He sent out another announcement letting the kingdom know that their first son was the firstborn and would take his place as king in twenty-four years. He wanted him to go to college and study world politics and business, making him a better king. Meira thought it was fabulous; she wanted all her kids to have a good life outside the pack.

A few weeks later, Libby and Shane announced their firstborn was male and named him Felix. Meira’s and Matthew’s baby boy’s name is Addison. AJ and Felix would attend the same school and take the same classes. When there were alpha meetings, the boys would play together while Libby would do her best to seduce other alphas’, while Shane was obtaining alliances with other werewolf packs.

Six years later, Clara was born; Addison and Clara were the only two children born to King and Queen Lyon. Three years later, something happened to the king that made him turn against his wife. It was small, but they shook it off as him being sick. He still ruled the kingdom with an iron fist which is something that his father-in-law did but with so much compassion. Matthew slowly showed his true colors, but everyone ignored his demeanor change.

“Meira, I want you out of this castle now. You will pack your bags but leave Prince Addison and Princess Clara here. I will raise them myself as they do not need a mother who cheats on her husband, the king.” He spits out.

“Where will I go, Matthew? This is MY CASTLE, not yours. I am the rightful heir to the thrown, not you!” Meira said with a waspish tone.

“You are going to your mother’s coven and live there without. YOUR children.” He raged back.

“Why must I go away to family, Matthew? I do not understand?” Meira said with a boiling-tempered tone.

“It’s for your safety and enough with the questioning. I want all the children to stay with me so I may protect them.”

“NO! You will not take my children away from me, Matthew. They need you and me together.”

“Go pack your bags now; your ride will await. You have one hour.” He said as he stormed off.

She does as he says, but she has other things in mind. She blocks the link to him and links her sisters’ and tells them what is happening, and they come running to her to help her pack. They plan to keep one of the children but not the other. She goes to Addison’s room and finds him doing homework.

“Honey, Daddy is sending me away to Grandma’s coven, and he wants you to stay here with him so he can train you to become the next king.”

“Mommy, I don’t want to be the next king.”

“Why not my son?”

“I want to become the best warrior who ever lived and protect you and my sister.”

“Oh, I see; well, you still can do that and be king, too.”

“NO! I want to go with you. Daddy is not sending you away to protect you anyway. He’s cheating on you, Mommy, and I caught him; that is why he wants to keep us here and make you go away.”

“Oh, sweetheart, Daddy would never cheat on me.”

“But he did, and I do not want to stay here with him. He hurt me when he saw me walking in on him and another woman having, you know what.”

“What? Having ummm...sex?”

“Yes, Mommy, they were butt ass naked, and she was screaming how much she loved him and his, you know what (points down to his crotch).”

She hides her giggles and tells him to pack all his things as he will leave and not tell anybody, especially Clara. She has her sisters pack Addison’s things up too. Clara was a year and a half old and still needed her mother, but she had to leave one child behind. Meira wrote her daughter a letter telling her what had happened and to come to find her secret and she would tell her what happened.

She went to see Clara, who was napping in her big girl bed, surrounded by stuffed animals and lightly snoring. She looked like an angel sprawled all out on her bed. One of her sisters came in and hugged and put her arms around Meira’s waist. Meira’s eyes started to swell with tears when she turned, walking out of Clara’s room.

“I know some of our brothers died protecting our pack and us a while back, and you got thrown into this world, but this is OUR kingdom, not his. He married into it, not the other way around, and you need to figure out how to kick him out and keep it for yourself and your children, who are the rightful heirs to the throne.”

“I never thought he would kick me out. Addison told me he walked in on Matthew fucking another woman, which is why he wants me out of here to replace me with her. But he wants the kids here. I got the news he won’t get any of them, but Clara will be next in line, and I need you and the others to take care of her and train her to take over the throne when the time is right. Also, I need you to send her my way so we can train her to be the highest princess/queen warrior, but secretly and keep every tab you can on Matthew. I want to know everything he says and does so that I can take his sorry ass out. Do you understand?”

“Yes, I agree to care for her, watch out for her, and train her in magic. She’s already showing our witchery ways, but she needs to be physically capable of fighting. It’ll ensure she sees you every day when she is old enough. I will let her come alone but guide her to where she can find you. But you must keep yourself hidden, and AJ and Meira, if you have any more children, they cannot know who she is until she is old enough.”

She sheds tears of pain and hatred towards her husband, wondering how he could betray her and her family like this so soon. They are mates given to each other by the Moon Goddess herself. She knows deep down Selene is upset with Matthew, and there will be consequences to pay. She will have to wait and see the effects, but she will make sure she watches him fail. She thanks Selene for allowing her sisters and brothers to take care of Clara for her. This gives her a piece of mind.

Meira left but had the car pull to a stop outside the territory so that she could fetch AJ from her sister’s care while their mates watched to ensure nobody was following them. News spread like wildfire throughout the land that the king kicked out his queen for another woman, and they lost disrespect for him but not for the queen and her children. They would patiently wait for them to grow and take over the kingdom.

Some of the other packs of the supernaturals set out to protect her and AJ, knowing that Clara was being left behind for the king to take care of. When Meira arrived at her coven, they told her she would have a pack of her own with much different supernatural would become a pack. Eighty percent have been trained with military style of fighting, along with all the martial arts training, artillery, knife throwing, bow, and arrows, you name it; they have been trained and are at the top of their packs as warriors, security detail with the government.

Some are even alphas’ whose packs were destroyed. Meira could not believe how loved she felt right then. There would even be some witches that would live in her new pack, and a couple of her sisters and two brothers would live with her. They would monitor the group and report to her about things.
