Chapter 66 - Wheels On The Bus
Recap
“I haven’t called my warriors to take out the trash.” I pointed at her as I said trash. “I can do it on my own.”
“Sure,” she sarcastically said as she disappeared and came at Micah.
I didn’t need to worry about Michah, his mates put him in a protective circle. “What were you saying again?” Autumn asked coldly.
“What a cocky bitch you are?” She roared and took a step towards Autumn.
Autumn’s POV
The woman’s face looked as if she had laid in the sun for centuries. Her hair was almost non-existent. And, she stunk too high heaven. I didn’t want to stand near her or breathe.
She started walking up to me, getting ready to slap me. I stared at her, daring her to touch me, little growls coming out of my mouth but getting louder. “What are you going to do, little girl?” The Bruja asked as she reached out for me.
I teleported Winter, Micah, and me to right behind her. I kicked her leg out from under her as she screamed and fell on her face. I could tell I had messed up her knee completely but I knew she could heal herself too. She started mumbling a spell. I closed her mouth completely up and put the song ‘The wheels on the bus go round’ to mess with her mind and throw her off from finishing her spell. I could tell the song was doing its job - which I was very thankful for. I teleported us away from the stench the Bruja wore from trying to make skinwalkers.
“Thanks, Autumn, now I’m going to have that song in mind.” Faith paused. “But, so will you, so get ready to hear me sing you to sleep every night.” I groaned at her words. I knew she meant them and I would have to make it up to her.
Yay me!
The Bruja tried to scream but it came out as if it was a moan, making all of us shudder. I knew I didn’t want to think of this nasty woman having sex. Eww, yuk! But, it was what she sounded like. I screwed up my face and looked at my family doing the same.
“Like, that wasn’t gross at all,” Faith, my wolf, told me, causing me to chuckle at her words. “I say we kill her right now. She needs to be taken to the underworld, she would fit right in. Okay, maybe not a good idea to send her there. She would probably kill the devil and take his place.”
“What say you, Mom? I know you’re listening when Faith talked to me,” I asked as I turned my eyes on her for a second, giving her a shit-eating grin. I turned back to the Bruja, not wanting to take my eyes off the Bruja for long.
“Let’s take care of her now, then go get Haley, although she told me to wait,” my mom told me through the mind-link.
I nodded and felt my grandma getting ready to speak through me. An invisible force caused me to open my mouth and spit at the Bruja, getting a glare from her. My eyes flashed a bright blue. “You have been found guilty of cruelty against werewolves and witches. You won’t live to see the rest of the day.” I let the Bruja speak again.
“Who do you think you are?” The bruja sneered at me as I felt my grandmother leave my body, causing me to stagger for a few seconds. I heard a boom behind me, knowing it was my grandma or the Moon Goddess.
“I’m the Moon Goddess, you fucking idiot!” My grandma boomed, making the ground shake.
“Well, good for you. You’re not my Goddess, so I think I will ignore you and get back to business.” The Bruja turned her back on my grandmother as everyone gasped in surprise.
“I will not be disrespected! You have hurt my children. You wanted to know why I didn’t stop you? It’s because we needed to know who all was involved. I knew, of course, but there needed to be witnesses to your crimes. I have saved every wolf you have experimented on. I have reversed what you have done to them and they want to show how much they appreciated your hospitality.”
“You can’t do that! Why would you believe you could do anything to me? I’m powerful!” The Bruja screamed at my grandmother - which was the wrong thing to say to a Goddess.
My grandma waved her hand and a lot of people showed up, growling at the Bruja. They started stalking her as if she were prey. I watched the Bruja carefully as she muttered a spell quietly just not quite enough for a werewolf. I threw a shield to protect the werewolves. She threw her spell, yelling her last words.
Yeah, last words.
All hail to the dead witch.
I didn’t want the werewolves to dirty their souls, especially the hybrids who were witches. If they had killed out of anger they would be known as black witches. The spell hit the barrier and came back on the Bruja. Her eyes widened, she gasped and clutched at her chest.
“Didn’t expect that now did she?” Faith asked as she shook her head from side to side.
I didn’t answer her. I needed to talk to the people she had tortured. I didn’t want them mad at me for taking away their payback, but I had a reason for what I did. I guess it was time to face the music. I looked up and saw everyone smiling or smirking.
“What?” I asked as I walked around the Bruja who was dead, for now.
“Thank you, Autumn. We know why you took care of her and not us. We just wanted to say thank you to you and to your sister Haley, “ a woman said to me, a beautiful smile on her face.
You’re welcome.”
“I wish I could have gotten to you s-” Haley tried to say.
“-you did what you could with the information you had. Don’t worry about us, the Moon Goddess healed us completely,” the woman cut in, bowing to the Moon Goddess and us.
The woman started sniffing around her and looked to someone past my shoulder. I turned around and noticed Sonny had stopped as his eyes drank the woman in. He smiled and walked over to her.
“How?”
