Chapter 55 - The Fool
Recap
“If you ever disrespect my mate again I will show you what hell looks like. You will be in unimaginable pain. You got me?” My dad, Blaine, growled out.
“Why? She’s just a woman. She knows she wants me but she’s too afraid to take me up on my offer,” the ass-hat taunted.
Ass handed to the fool?
Check.
Griffith’s POV
Everyone gasped at the fool. I couldn’t believe how stupid this man was. He was going to be eating his words very soon. What kind of wolf acts the way he is acting? We are supposed to love our mates. All she-wolves were treasured whether they were mates or not.
I watched as my mom put her hands on my dad's arms, wanting to calm them down, so she could take care of this ass-hat on her own. I guess I won’t have to worry about him treating women like objects ever again.
My mom walked over to the ass-hat and smiled at him, only the smile was not one full of happiness, no, this one was one of her evil ones, one that scared the shit out of most people, except for this guy.
She leaned over, putting her hands on the hand rests. She growled so loud in his face that the whole room shook. “I’m not an object you can play with. What the hell is wrong with you? Haven’t you ever been taught that women are sacred and should be protected?” She asked him as little growls slipped through her lips, her eyes showing her wolf.
“I’ve been taught that women are lower than men. I’ve been taught they are for our enjoyment. They only play as if they don’t want me or any of these men,” he answered as he smirked at her, the other men in the room giving him disgusted looks.
“You shouldn’t have made that comment. I’ll tell you what...If you can beat me in the training circle I will be yours, but if not then you will be dead, deal?” My mom asked him as my dads smiled.
“Deal. A woman can’t beat me. You’re too fragile,” the ass-hat commented.
I got up when my mom walked out of the dining room, falling her to the training circle and shaking my head about all the shit we’ve had to endure. What was happening to the wolves? Why were they acting as if they were owed whatever they wanted? It didn’t make any sense to me. I was worried about our society falling into a pit of shit and not coming back from it. It looked as if the male wolves were already there drowning and taking our women with them.
Damn it!
I was worried about how many women this man had raped. With every word that came out of his mouth made me believe he had raped a lot of them. I would need to get my sisters to ask around. I knew the women would not want to talk about it to a man, I mean, I would have to be stupid in the head to think they would want to be around any male.
“Your mom is going to make an example out of this ass-hat, isn’t she?” Willow whispered as she grabbed my hand, pulling me close to her.
I chuckled. “Oh yes. The fight might get a little gross. Are you sure you want to watch this fight?”
She smiled at me. “I wouldn’t miss it for anything. He treats women as if they are his toys and gets mad if he can’t get another one, so I won’t miss this fight for anything in the world.”
I nodded my head, a huge grin on my face. My little mate was bloodthirsty, but only if the person or persons had done wrong. I wasn’t sure if she could handle the blood. I should have known she could when she pulled Amy’s head off. I had the best mate ever. I thanked the Goddess every day for her.
“Micah, can you give the rules? I don’t want anything said about this not being fair,” I told Micah, trying hard not to use my Alpha command. “And, this is to the death or to the submission for my mom, but use the name Summer. This ass-hat doesn’t need to know she’s an Alpha or my mom, okay?”
I watched as a big smile came across Micah’s face. “No problem.”
I heard my siblings and my parents snicker. This fool didn’t know what was about to hit him. I didn’t know why he thought he could beat my mom. It’s what was worrying me. Why was he so confident he would win?
The air changed direction on her own and let me know what this fool smelled like. I took another deep breath and settled my mind. Aww, shit! I hope my mom knew what she was getting herself into.
“She does,” Asher answered my unasked question as he joined with my mom.
My mom didn’t make a sound, not wanting to give away her secret weapon to the ass-hat. I knew my brothers were strong and knew Asher would protect my mom. But, I had a feeling Athena wouldn’t let her skin side be injured. I knew she wouldn’t want to mate with this fool. Anything she could do to keep his paws off her the better.
I was all up in my mind when I felt the air let out a warning. I reached out and grabbed the person by the throat, not wanting to let go. “Chill, bro’, it’s me, Kaley.”
I let go of her throat. “What the hell, Kaley? You know better. I could have hurt you.”
She snickered. “I wanted to see if you were aware of your surroundings.”
“Yeah, us too,” Haley commented from behind me.
“I’m aware of my surroundings, Haley. Look down,” I dryly said.
“What the hell, Griffith?” Haley exclaimed as she stepped back and glared at me.
“You did ask,” I sarcastically commented as I put my blade away. Haley and Kaley shook their heads, chuckling at themselves.
“Catch us up.” I looked at them like what the hell? “We are trying to not read our family’s minds. We were told it was wrong to read, our family's mind, yet mom and dad do it all the time,” Kaley explained.
“That ass-hat.” I pointed to the guy. “Decided to act like mom was his personal playground, making dirty comments even with our dads there. Mom told him if he could beat her she would go with him.” Their brows went up. “But, if she beats him then he would die.”
“She won’t let him beat her and Athena will help her. I have a feeling Justice will make an appearance, but I could be wrong.”
“Where’s your mate?” I asked as I looked around and saw him behind Haley. “Nevermind.”
I looked back at my mom. I was shocked when her eyes turned a blazing blue, but she didn’t say a word. I was wondering what my grandma was up to now. I never knew with her.
“Was that grandma peeking through mom’s eyes?” Kaley’s wolf asked me.
I nodded my head and put my lips to my lips from behind my hand. I knew why grandma didn’t say anything. She was protecting our thoughts from the fool. I was surprised he was that strong.
“Grandma told me to help keep the spell up to protect our thoughts,” Flame, Willow’s wolf, told me in my mind.
I nodded my head, but stopped and looked at her with my mouth agape. I schooled my features to a blank look. I winked at Willow, causing her to giggle. I knew she was getting stronger and her powers would kick in. But, I didn’t know she would be able to use them without any instruction. She was doing great with her powers, but I worried about the other two or more powers she would receive. I didn’t want my mate in pain. I didn’t like to see her cry. I was, once again, startled out of thoughts.
“Fight!” Micah yelled as he ran out of the training circle.
