Chapter 54 - Blatant Disrespect
Recap
“I will. Chara and Achelois, please stand. You don’t need to bow to me. Your family,” the Moon Goddess told my parents as she smiled at me.
“Okay, Griffith, you bellowed out my name. Ask your question,” the Moon Goddess stated as she walked over and hugged my mate.
“Can you tell us how many more powers Willow will get?” Griffith asked.
Griffith’s POV
My mate was amazing. I was so happy she found me. I knew she had a lot of questions about herself. But, the question she asked was the best one ever. I was waiting for my grandmother to speak and answer my question. I knew she didn’t like answering anything about our powers, but this was important to Willow, so I was going to try my damndest to get an answer.
She sighed and gave me a pointed look. “She has a least three more.” She paused and looked up. “But, I can’t tell you what they will be. I don’t want to mess up fate. All you need to know is they will be what you need and the next two will be painful.” She looked at Willow. “I’m sorry, granddaughter. I know you’ve been put through hell. I know you can get through this. You’re a strong person - stronger than you even know. Griffith will help you get through this,” the Moon Goddess explained as she disappeared.
I rolled my eyes. “Well, that was informative.”
My mom started laughing. “You know she can’t tell us everything. She didn’t want to mess up our futures. Now you see how I felt when I asked a question. She doesn’t do it on purpose, well, sometimes she does, but it makes for an interesting life.”
“Interesting but frustrating,” I told my mom.
“True,” she said as she chuckled.
I hugged Willow to me, checking to make sure she was alright, but she was still staring at the place my grandmother was, a blank look on her face. “Willow, are you alright?” She didn’t move. “Willow!” I yelled as I shook her a little.
She took a deep breath and looked around. “What’s the matter?”
I looked into her eyes to make sure she was truly okay. “You’ve been staring at the place my grandmother was at. Your face was completely blank and you didn’t answer my question. Are you okay?”
“I-I think so. I was surprised she somewhat answered your question and told me what to expect.” She took a huge breath and whispered, “what do you think she meant about me being stronger than I think?”
“Just what she said. I’ve always known you were stronger than any other she-wolf out there. I could feel the power radiating off you,” I answered as I pulled her into a hug.
“This time I can answer why that is.” We looked at her dad, a question in our eyes. “Both Willow’s mom and I are Alpha’s. It makes her stronger than anyone else other than her mother. There are only eight of us that have mates that are Alphas. You, Willow, your sisters, Micah, your mom, and your dads. It makes us powerful in our own right.”
“How did I not put the information together before you said something? I should have known, but I didn’t know your mate was an Alpha too.” I looked at Willow and smiled.
“Well, she will be more powerful than us.” I looked up quickly. “She is an Alpha pair and she has your powers.”
“Wow,” Willow whispered, looking a little pale to me.
I kissed her forehead. I knew she would be alright, but this was a lot to take in. I’m sure she had so much running around her mind. She would ask her questions later when we were by ourselves. She was putting the questions in her mind in order. I could read all the questions, but the one she was thinking about was how much pain she would be in as she received her powers. It was a scary thought for her, but she would do everything in her power to be a helpmate to me.
I hugged her to me and whispered into her mind that she would get through the pain. I would help her as much as I could. I wasn’t going to leave her alone to go through the pain by herself.
“Let’s go eat. I’m starving,” my mom said, rubbing her stomach as if she hadn’t eaten in weeks.
“Mom,” I whined, making her laugh at me.
We all left to go to the dining hall. I was holding on to Willow. We walked into a full dining room. Every one of them stood up and bowed to Willow and me. Willow stopped dead in her tracks and looked up at me, her eyes wide and her mouth agape. She motioned for everyone to stand and shook her head.
“What the hell was that for, Griffith?” She asked through her wolf, Flame.
“They are recognizing you as the Luna. They accepted you,” I told her through Blaze, my wolf.
“Thank you, everyone. I feel as if I don’t deserve your trust, but I will work hard to be the best Luna I can be,” she let the pack know, making her even more amazing in my book.
She was humble, sweet, and brave with her words. It took a lot to admit your faults, well, not her faults but her feelings. It would put everyone at ease and if they needed to ask something they knew she would not judge them. It made her even more endearing.
I nudged her to her seat and pulled out her chair, her parents doing the same thing. Mom dropped down into a chair across from us, growling at one of the men who were staring at her, lust in his eyes.
“Dude, do you want to lose your eyes? Quit eye raping me. I have two mates and I don’t cheat on them,” my mom told the ass-hat from before.
I narrowed my eyes at him, letting him know I wasn’t happy with his train of thoughts. Not that he knew I could read his mind. I should have taken him out with the fucker. I knew he was going to be a problem.
“But, baby, you are made for me,” the ass-hat replied as Willow, mom and I growled.
My mom stood up and walked over to him, making her hips sway. She walked her fingers up his chest and leaned down to him. “If you think I would fuck you at any time you are sadly mistaken.” She grabbed him up by the collar of his shirt and growled in his face. I could tell Athena wasn’t happy.
The man paled and ducked his head. “I’m sorry.”
I watched my mom throw him back into his chair and walk back over to her seat, taking her water and pouring it on her hands. She teleported a towel to dry her hands. I wanted to laugh at her, but I knew she was showing what she thought about him. Disgust was the main one. Anger was the second. I knew if she called my dads all hell would break loose. As soon as I had the thought my dads showed up right behind my mom and growled at the ass-hat, making the floor shake.
“If you ever disrespect our mate again I will show you what hell looks like. You will be in unimaginable pain. I will hurt you then let you heal and do it all over again. You got me?” My dad, Blaine, growled out.
“Why? She’s just a woman. She knows she wants me but she’s too afraid to take me up on my offer,” the ass-hat taunted.
Ass handed to the fool?
Check.
