Chapter 23 - Mad, Mad World
Kaiden’s POV
I was trying to get my pack on the straight and narrow. It wasn’t easy at all. Thank the Goddess I had some of the people from moms pack, well, they were from here first and wanted to come back. At least I knew they were good people with good wolves. But, I still had some wolves who wanted to act like asses, so I showed them why you don’t mess with me. It scared a few of my pack members, but it had to happen or we would forever have problems.
I was happy I made Jeff my Beta and Matt my Gamma. They were doing a great job. I knew I could count on them. Their mates were over the moon to be in a pack again. I was happy my mom didn’t kill them and knew they had been spelled.
My dad’s came with me for a week, setting up all sorts of things that go boom. They sat up my security room. It was awesome. They made it look like theirs - which made me very happy since I knew how to operate the one at home. I knew they wanted to keep me safe. I was thankful they helped me out, but now they were gone and I had to deal with all the fallout mess.
“Alpha, I’m having a problem with of the wolves. He thinks he can take a woman who’s not his mate. I’ve warned him to keep his hands to himself, but he’s not listening to me. Gotta go and take him down a notch or two. Can you please help me. I don’t want to kill him,” Matt explained, his voice sounding as if he was fed up with this wolf.
“On my way.”
I teleported to the training field, but I didn’t show myself yet, I stayed invisible. I wanted to see what this wolf was doing to my female warriors. I wanted to read his mind before I decided what to do with him.
I had watched enough. I walked out from behind a tree and let my power show. “What hell is going on here?” I walked up to the wolf in question. “Who do you to think you are to take a woman who is not your mate?”
“I’m her mate,” he lied to me.
His thoughts made me want to shudder. He was sick. No, not sick, he was pure evil. He was dark as night. I shook my head on my thoughts. “You’re a liar. She’s not your mate, but I know who is. I ask again, who do you think you are to treat one of my female warriors as a piece of meat at the market?” I had to add the last part to let him know I was reading his mind.
He narrowed his eyes at me, his thoughts telling me what he was about before he moved. I stepped to the side and squatted down, sweeping his legs out from under him. He landed hard. He rolled over and looked at me. He thought he could take me.
“How?” He cleared his voice. “How did you know what to do? It was as if you were reading my mind.”
Night started snickering in the back of my mind. “What a fucking dumbass.”
I had to agree with Night. “You telegraph your moves. I guess you’re not as good as you think, are you?” Yes, I was trying to rile him up. He was going to be dead anyway. I couldn’t have some wolf thinking he could take any woman.
He stood up and narrowed his eyes at me, yet again. He opened his mouth and shut it again, trying to build his courage up. I could see everything he was thinking. If he could beat me he would become the Alpha of this pack and change it back the way it was.
Dumb fuck.
“I challenge you for this pack!” He yelled as if I was deaf.
I rolled my eyes at the idiot. “Challenge accepted. I needed a work out anyway.” I turned towards Matt. “Gamma Matt, can you please do the honors of getting us started?”
He nodded his head and we walked over to the challenge circle, calling pack members as we went. We would need witnesses to make sure no one cheated, like I ever would, but I didn’t know if he would.
Mat went over the rules, but the dumbass didn’t want me to use magic - which was fine with me. I didn’t need my magic to beat him. I wasn’t being cocky, but with a mother like mine, he would learn a whole lot of moves soon - too bad he won’t be able to use them when he fights.
“Fight!” Mat yelled as he ran out of the challenge ring.
I sighed, not wanting to draw out this challenge. I still had a lot to do. The paperwork alone was driving me crazy. Maybe this fight would let off a little stress. How the hell did my parents get through all the paperwork and still have time to spend with each other?
I felt the earth shift and knew he was running towards me. He didn’t say I couldn’t use the elements. He only said magic. I wanted to see what he would do when he got to me. He had no finesse at all. He was all over the place with his thoughts, but I knew which one he didn’t want me to see.
As soon as he got to me, I slid under his legs and punched up into his package as hard as I could. He fell to the ground screaming about never having kids with his mate.
“Good. I don’t want children by you. You’re a sick, twisted, perverted fucker!” A woman yelled out as she walked to one of the female warriors.
I snickered at the idiot, knowing he screwed up. I knew he was in shock at seeing his mate. He knew he had a mate, but he didn’t care about her feelings at all. He wanted to take more than one mate. I couldn’t allow him to hurt her anymore, but I didn’t want to take her mate away.
“Please save me the pain of all his rapes. I can’t stand for him to touch me. My wolf has already retreated at the way he has treated us. She doesn’t want him and has been trying to break the bond for a long time. This is what he puts me through when he cheats,” she explained as she raised up her blouse and showed her stomach.
And, that was all I was waiting for. The dumbass was crying. He knew what was about to happen. I was going to slice his neck when he changed into his wolf. I backed up and Night came out to play, his words. He growled so loud everyone hit their knees, including the perverted wolf. He was trying to keep from showing his neck, but he couldn’t do it. But, he could cuss me out and narrow his eyes.
I let him up and waited to see what he would do. I felt my grandma show up beside this fuckers mate. I knew why she was here. She can’t show herself too many times. It takes a lot of power for her to be on this plain, but I knew whatever she was going to do was worth it, especially to her.
I sighed and watched the asshole back up. He tilted his head, trying to figure out to take me out. His wolf growled and ran towards me. I changed back into my human side. He got closer, so I jumped up and did a scissor kick, landing on his neck and breaking it. I changed one of my hands to a claw and ripped his throat out, almost taking his head off. I wasn’t taking any chances of him coming back.
“I’m free. Thank you, Goddess and Alpha Kaiden. I wasn’t sure how much longer I could have taken him,” she exclaimed as she jumped up and down in excitement, tears were running down her face.
I nodded and started to walk off. My grandmother grabbed my arm, stopping me in my tracks. “You need to know what I’m going to tell you, but you promise not to be mad at her.”
“Mad at who?” I asked, not understanding what she was talking about.
A/N: Who do you think the Moon Goddess is talking about?
