From Here to Ecstasy

Chapter 22 - Earth, Mud & Clay

Recap:

My head started to hurt. I started to feel hate, pure and evil, knowing it wasn’t coming from me. I shook my head a few times, but the headache stayed with me.

“Griffith, there’s something wrong with Autumn and Winter. They are complaining about a headache from hell,” Micah’s wolf, Peace, told Blaze.

“I’m having the same problem, but I’m feeling hate,” I told him via my wolf.

“Out of the house now!” Asher yelled via his wolf.

Griffith’s POV

Between my brother’s and sister’s we teleported everyone out of the pack house. Micah, Winter and Autumn showed up naked, quickly clothing themselves.

Yeah, I wanted to see that.

“Sorry, Griffith. We were more worried about getting everyone out,” Autumn sarcastically told me via her wolf as she shrugged and smirked at me.

I looked around at everyone. “I’m going to speak through my wolf, Blaze, to you. If you tell your wolf what you want to say I will be able to hear you. Do not speak through the mind-link. I’m not sure how safe it is.”

Everyone nodded and looked at me with eyes that were wide, their mouths hanging open. I knew I would get questions later. Later being the word choice I would use. They weren't getting answers right then.

“Alright, witches, it’s time to shine. We need to build a wall of mud, clay and water around us,” Autumn explained as she called for help.

I listened to the mind of everyone in our group, the rest of sibling’s doing the same. I caught a thought one of the witches had. I nodded at Winter and Summer when I felt their eyes on me. I watched as Autumn teleported over to the witch and put to her sleep.

“What the hell did you do to my mate?” The man screamed as he took a step towards Autumn.

We heard him call out to the shifter, trying to send out our location. Winter put him in a deep sleep as she looked around at everyone else.

If you have ill intentions within this pack I will show how scary I can be,” I informed everyone as I scanned their minds.

Joey stepped up. “My wolf just told me that I’m part witch, too. She wants me to help and take the power that laid dormant in me, well, until Autumn said she needed the witches to step forward.”

Mine, too. She told me it was time to shine,” Amy informed Autumn, her eyes wide in fright.

Winter teleported to Joey and Autumn, laying her hand on the cheeks and calming them down. “Your wolves will help you learn what you need to do. Follow her instructions, she won’t lead you astray.” They nodded and smiled at Winter.

If you’re a witch over the elements of earth and water I need you to help build a dome of earth, clay and then water. This person is a dragon shifter and he can shoot out napalm. We’re going to keep everyone safe, okay?” I asked as I looked around, noticing a few more witches had stepped out, all of them nodding.

Wait!” Ander yelled. “Who’s great with a bow and arrow?”

Joey and two other men stepped forward. I teleported some bows and arrows dipped in silver and handed them out, telling them to be careful of the silver. I had made sure to strap them up with enough weapons to start World War III. I made sure to strap myself, too. I had teleported my bow and arrows from my mom and dad’s armory.

I started counting down in my head from three to one, knowing someone would show up. “What the hell, Griffith. Why wouldn’t you let me know what was going on?” My mom angrily told me.

I shrugged my shoulders, letting out a little laugh. “I figured you were reading my mind anyway.”

My mom narrowed her eyes and then smirked. “I would have, but you were quite busy. I didn’t think you wanted your mom running through your thoughts at the time.”

Mackenzie and I blushed. “Uh, thank you,” was all I could think to say.

Shit!

“Way to sound as if you’re an Alpha, Griffith. Now everyone’s going to think we are a pussy. I will have to tell them that I wasn’t to blame,” Blaze scolded me as he sniffed and turned his back to me.

Well, double shit!

I noticed my mom had her bow and arrow with her, her quiver on her back full of arrows. I had a good reason to change the subject of why she didn’t read my mind. I knew we needed to get the show on the road before the shifter found us. I had all the witches build the dome of mud, clay and water, keeping all the people who could handle a bow.

As soon as the dome was done I looked at our warriors. “Time to shine.”

And, to help you stay safe you will be invisible,” my mom threw in as everyone’s eyes went wide, their mouths agape.

I shook my head, giving them their positions. I didn’t want anyone to get hit in the crossfire. I made sure to keep Makenzie with me. I didn’t want anything to hurt her and we might need another witch with us. I knew this was going to be a test of wills. We had to hit the dragon in his heart to bring him down. I just hoped no one got hurt.

I nodded my head and everyone disappeared, showing up at their positions. I guess my mom wanted to be quick about putting them in their spots. I got seated in my tree, Mackenzie hanging on my back as if she were a monkey. We were talking through our wolves, but we didn’t take our eyes from the skies.

I didn’t see him, but I felt his evil intentions. His hate was all encompassing, making my skin crawl and Blaze to whine. I heard a loud roar from my left and I turned toward the sound, pushing Makenzie in a bow of our tree. I couldn’t have her on my back. I needed to be able to get to my arrows. She understood what I wanted and why. She smiled at me and nodded her head, silently letting me know she would be okay.

I squatted down on a big limb as I looked at the skies. I watched as the shifter puffed out a few flames from his snout as he looked for my pack. The shifter came in low, barely missing the trees. I notched an arrow on my bow, watching for the shifter. I pulled back the bow as soon as I felt the hate triple. I knew he was close, but he was quiet. I knew he was coasting on the wind currents, trying to be as quiet as he could.

I waited for him to make his move. I heard a movement to the east of me, but I didn’t have time to send an arrow at him.

Well, shit!

All I heard was a big explosion next to me….

A/N: I'm a little sorry about the cliffhanger, well, maybe not. I'll have you wanting more for all I'm worth. What do you think will happen next?
