Chapter 145 - All Men Lie
Dedicated to oddball, wildspice and N.Y.O.B. Thank you for everything you’ve done to keep me going.
Recap
His eyes widened, a slow smile crossing his face. “Yes. My pack has grown so much we are bursting at the seams. We don’t have enough land to build more homes or for a little town square we want to open.” He paused and looked at me, tilting his head. “Are you sure?”
I nodded my head at him. “I’m positive. I know you are a kind and caring Alpha, one who takes care of his people fairly. So, it’s a done deal. I will mind-link you before I teleport you to your mate, okay?” I shook his hand, patting his back in a bro hug.
“Thank you, Royal Alpha King,” he said as he bowed to me, a crooked smile on his face.
All of a sudden we heard a scream coming from the packhouse.
Sonny’s POV
I teleported us to the packhouse as quickly as I could, already knowing what was going on. I narrowed my eyes on the women, trying to figure out why one of the women had screamed. I checked on their minds more, checking to make sure they weren’t spelled against a truth spell. I couldn’t have anyone who would cause problems for Alpha Black later. He didn’t need and neither did I. I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose, healing the woman who had screamed out in pain.
I walked up to one of the ‘ladies’ and rolled my eyes, breaking her spell. “And, why are you here?” I asked sarcastically, startling Alpha Black.
“Uh-” Alpha Black tried to say as I held my hand up to stop him.
“Who are you trying to be?” The woman asked as she looked me up and down, making me almost shudder with revolution.
I raised one eyebrow. “I asked you a question. Why are you here?” I asked using my Royal Alpha tone.
She stared me straight in the eyes, causing Kat to growl at her and her to smirk. She nodded her head at Kat. “Who’s this bitch?”
“I am not going to ask again.” I paused and narrowed my eyes at her. “And, this woman is my mate.” I checked her mind again, wanting to know why she was ignoring my question. I couldn’t believe I missed the second spell. Ares pointed out the one the witch had tried to hide. He had lit up the area the spell was in, showing me what I missed instead of telling me. I was impressed. I knew he had just come into his magic from Windy, but he was getting the hang of everything quickly.
“What are you doing here!” I ordered again, growling at her as her smirk slipped off her face. I could tell Kat was casting a spell to keep her from blocking us.
Thank the Goddess
“I was sent here to hide, for now. Later I was to wait for a sign, one which would let me know to cause trouble between you and your mate. Afterward, I was to take over as Queen after I killed her,” she told me as sneered the last part towards Kat, her eyes widening as she tried and failed at spelling herself again.
Kat started laughing as if the witch had told the best joke ever. She was bent over, her hands on her knees. She stood up and held her stomach, wiping a tear away from her eye. “Too funny. If you thought I would fall for your tricks against my mate you are crazy. I will always know if he’s telling the truth.”
“How?” She asked hastily.
“Easy.” She smiled at me. “My mate never lies and he can’t stand people who lie to him.”
“All men lie,” she laughs out.
“Well, how about we try a lie then.” I paused and looked over at Alpha Black, raising an eyebrow. “I’m going to let Alpha Black take you into custody.”
“How is that a lie?” She asked as she huffed and crossed her arms over her chest.
“Because the Royal Alpha King is going to be arresting you not me,” Alpha Black answered for me as I nodded.
I teleported behind her and cuffed her hands with the cuffs Windy had handed me. I pulled her up and teleported her to the cells, letting Ander know she was in the cells. After getting a reply back I turned to the other people.
“I’m going to ask a question and you’re going to answer starting from left to right, understand?” Kat asked as everyone nodded their heads. “Why are you here?”
After getting answers from every one of them and confirming they weren’t lying, I gave them a choice of either staying with Alpha Black, coming to the Royal Pack or going to a family pack. I was surprised when they all wanted to go with Alpha Black until the hell-hole, as they called it, was cleaned and repaired. I knew Alpha Black didn’t have the room for them.
“As a present from me I will fix this packhouse and fix up the other areas you have been dreaming of, do I have your permission, Alpha Black?” I saw a huge grin on his face as he nodded his head.
I looked at where he wanted everything now and waved my hand as buildings rose from the ground, parks were built, a town square with shops was raised, and new homes were built. I added a layer of protection to the borders, one I was sure he would appreciate later.
“Wow!” I heard Alpha Black say as he looked around with his mouth agape. He shook his head and looked at me. “Thank you, Alpha Royal King, it’s exactly what I have been thinking about. Wait, how did you know?”
I laughed hard, Kat, Windy, and Ares laughing with me. “Uh, I might or might not have read your mind.”
His head whipped around to me. “Uh? Perks of being the Alpha King?”
I chuckled. “Actually, no. I’ve always been able to read minds, sorry. I didn’t read anything else other than the plans you had. I don’t like to read others unless I ask for permission first, well, unless they are trying to hide something.” I mumbled. “Plus, my family loves to read my mind - all the damn time.”
Windy laughed loud and long as I turned towards her and gave her a dirty look, shaking my head.
Crazy girl
“Hey! I heard that, brother!” Windy exclaimed.
“I meant for you too.” I looked at Alpha Black and rolled my eyes. Quit reading my mind. What I did say about my family liking to read my mind? I rest my case.”
“Your boundaries are protected with a spell. No one can be let in unless you or your Beta give your permission. Also, anyone who comes onto your territory acting as if they are your friend will be spelled, to tell the truth. Always,” I mind-linked him, smiling at the look of shock on his face.
“And, that includes other Alpha’s too,” Kat added through the mind-link, causing all of us to laugh.
“Thank you, Royal Alpha King and Queen. I especially like the last part.” He laughed. “I’m going home to clean up. I’ll have my Beta and Warriors take care of my pack for the time being. Thank you for everything,” he said as he bowed, a small smile on his face. He turned and started ordering his Beat and Warriors through the mind-link.
I grabbed Kat’s hand in mine and stopped for a moment. “Alpha Black? It’s Sonny as long as we aren’t at court,” I mind-linked him as I teleported all of us, including my Warrior’s, to the Royal Pack.
I teleported us to the front of the castle and turned and looked at my Warriors. “Thank you for protecting this pack and having my back. If someone could make sure there are men around our borders the rest of you can take a day off, you’ve deserved it.” I half bowed to my Warriors as they pounded their fist to their chest and bowed low to me.
“Thank you, Royal Alpha King,” the commander said as he gathered the men and made out a schedule.
I heard some kind of noise as I stood at the top of the hill. I couldn’t tell what the sound was until I stepped down the hill. There were bodies everywhere, who’s bodies I wasn’t sure. I saw one of the bodies move and made myself ready to protect myself and my family. A face popped up completely covered in blood. They crawled up the hill and smiled at me.
“Girl, what are you doing here?” I asked her as I helped her up, not minding the blood.
A/N: Thanks for reading. Getting closer to the end. Just about 2 or 3 chapters. Thanks for hanging in there with me.
