Recap
“What have I ever done to you?” I barely got the question out when he slapped me across the face, startling me from my thoughts. No one has ever slapped me before and no one would ever again.
“What the hell?” I yelled as I pushed him away from me, shocking the crap out of him. Good. He should know better than to hit a child. “You hit like a girl!” I yelled, once again.
He came at me again. “I’ll show how I hit and isn’t like a girl!” He challenged back as he rushed to me.
Ander’s POV
I quickly threw up a spell to keep him away from me. He hit the barrier I had placed around me, rolling backward and landing on his butt. I should have spelled the ladies, too. These idiots were pissing me off. I know I’m not allowed to use those words but right now I didn’t care.
“Calm down, Ander. We wouldn’t want to hurt him in anger,” my wolf quietly told me, causing me to calm down instantly and take steadying breaths. I didn’t know how he could calm me so quickly and I didn’t care. I was so glad he let me know I was close to losing myself and I didn’t want to go down that road.
“What the hell is this?” The man growled as he stalked closer to the barrier. He tapped on it and tried to kick it down, but it wasn’t coming down anytime soon. I needed to sleep and the barrier would protect me for the time being.
I heard a lady scream, causing me to circle my index finger in the air. It wasn’t even a second later until I heard the man scream. I quickly spelled all the women and children.
Ha!
Didn’t expect that, did ya?
A minute later, all the men were in my cell, growling and spitting. I could tell they were angrier than a wet hornet, and I was loving it. I figured I could keep them busy and away from the women for as long as I could. It was entertaining to watch the idiots exhaust themselves as they tried to kick the barrier I had put up.
Wasn’t going to happen.
It must have been an hour since the idiots were trying to take down the barrier. They finally stopped and walked out of my cell, talking about shooting the barrier or placing a bomb against it. I was waiting for them to come back, wanting to know what they had decided on.
I teleported some energy bars to all of us and sat back against the wall as I waited for the freaking idiots. I wish I could call them something worse, but I had my butt whooped too many times and I didn’t want another one from my mom for saying bad words.
I strengthened the barrier as the idiots came back into my cell, smirking at me, and setting dynamite against the barrier. I quickly strengthened the barrier around the women and children, making sure to spell them from any and all harm, knowing the dynamite would take down all the cells around us.
“Stop! What the hell are you doing? Are you trying to take down the whole-cell system here?” A lady yelled as she asked the idiots.
She ruined my playtime
Witch!
I really wanted them to take the cells down and now all I could do is watch the men duck their heads as if they were children.
“Why did you stop them? I was ready to watch the idiots blow up. Now, I have to find something else to do,” I whined as I smirked at the idiots.
“Shut up, child! You don’t have any rights. You should be quiet and quit asking questions,” the witch tried giving me orders.
“Why? It’s the only thing I could do for my entertainment. Sorry if it’s not something you like,” I sarcastically said in a whiny voice, causing the witch to scowl at me. "Plus, it's how I learn." I nodded my head, punctuating the last words out of my mouth as I smirked internally.
“Shut it, if you know what’s good for you-”
“Or what? You will huff and puff and blow my barrier down?” I snickered as she moved forward and touched the barrier.
I watched as she tried every spell she knew to break in, but I made sure she couldn’t touch any of my barriers, even the ones around the women and children. I was tired of their antics, it only made them look stupid
“Hey, are there any kids I can play with around here? I’m bored of watching you. Give it up, woman! The barriers are not coming down no matter what you do.” I rolled my eyes at the idiots, waiting for her to make her next move.
“Serinda, come get this idiot barrier down!” The witch yelled as she smirked at me.
I smirked at her, causing her smirk to drop. I didn’t know who this Serinda was but I didn’t think she could drop my barrier. Even if she could I was going to have some fun making the witch crazier, well, even crazier than she was.
I heard heavy footsteps coming down the steps. It sounded as if a herd of buffalo was walking into the cells. I looked up when I heard a huff. I didn’t know if it was because the woman was tired of the walk but I didn’t care. The woman looked like someone had hit her with an ugly stick about two-hundred times. She was ugly. I mean really ugly. She looked like a man with her over six-feet in height and her build.
She looked me over as I did the same. She sighed and smirked. She raised her hands in the air and started to chant. I spelled the barriers, even more, making her lose her train of thought.
Point one for me
I huffed. “Why do you want me out of my barrier? I was just sitting against my cell wall and asking questions. Sorry if it bothered anyone,” I whined in a bratty voice, one that sounded like one of the brats in our pack, one who drove me crazy enough to quit playing with him.
“I have plans for you-”
“Well, I’m not interested in becoming your next science project, so go away and leave me alone!”
She tutted at me and raised a brow. “What do you know of what’s going on around here? You’re just a baby-”
“-one you kidnapped!! Who kidnaps a child? Oh, yeah, you!” I yelled at her, raising my voice as loud as I could. I knew it hurt their ears, but I didn’t care not one whit. She could be in pain while I sat in my bubble. I wasn’t going to become one of their projects. I knew I had a plan to get out of it, but right now I was tired and wanted sleep. I was sure the women felt the same way.
“You shouldn’t be so powerful. Why are you this powerful? Who taught you, witch!” Sirenda yelled at me as I smirked back.
Wouldn't you like to know?
It would be funny to tell her why I was so powerful but I knew I couldn’t, at least, not now. I would soon though. I was tired of their stupid games. I didn’t want the women to get hurt anymore. I didn’t want anyone hurt except them.
Idea?
Check!
“Stop talking and go back to your packhouse! Do not touch any of the women or children! Go!” I yelled in my Alpha voice, almost laughing at their blank faces.
I watched as they turned around and walked out. I started laughing, the women joining me. I wasn’t sure if my Alpha voice would be enough, but I guess it worked.
“Good job,” a woman told me as she chuckled and ate the snacks I had sent to everyone. I knew they needed to eat. They would need the energy to get out of here. I could only hope them being healed and fed would bring them back around for a little bit.
Another idea?
Check!
I rigged the cameras again and went woman to woman healing their hearts. I wanted them to have a sense of calm and to know all of this mess wasn’t their fault. I made sure to help the children, too. I couldn’t stand to see anyone in pain and these women were in so much pain. Not just from their old wounds but from the wounds and scars from their whole ordeal.
I heard someone running from above me and someone running to the hatch for the cells. I smiled and let them know to be ready to escape. I watched an old woman, of Spanish descent, walk up to my cell and whisper one word, taking all of my barriers down.
Well, caca!
“You’re coming with me. You will do what I say or I will kill you where you stand. Do you understand what I’m saying?” The bruja asked me as I looked at her as if she was crazy.
“What?” She grabbed my arm tightly and shook me. “Go to hell, bruja! I will not listen to anything you say!”
I saw the needle in her hand come towards me. I knew what was in the needle and I wanted no part of it. I tried to teleport out of her arms but I wasn’t quick enough to escape it. I fell into complete darkness, wondering what was going to happen to me.
A/N: Uh-oh, what's going to happen to Ander. Bet you can't guess?
