Chapter 13 - Luna
Recap:
I felt a barrier go up as the girls spelled me even more. The dip-shit was watching me, waiting on me to make the first move. Too bad I don’t have long nails to check as the girls did. I bounced from foot to foot. I decided it would be a good idea to let all my power show.
I let loose all my power, watching as the Alpha grunted in surprise. His eyes widened as he looked at me. He was trying not to bow to me. I could tell he was worried about his challenge. “You weren’t that powerful a minute ago. You must be borrowing power from someone else, but it will do you no good. You don’t have any fighting skills to speak of.”
I raised an eyebrow at him and smiled, wanting to make him mad. It must have worked, considering he charged at me. I let him hit me with one of his claws, surprising him at not screaming out because of the silver. “I’m immune to silver, you idiot. Should have done your homework before coming at me,” I sarcastically said, making him even more angry.
I moved away from him, my wound already healed, even with the silver. I cracked my neck and shoulders. I was about to make my move, and it had to be perfect or I would break my neck. It was a move I had only done one time. A broken neck wouldn’t kill me, matter of fact, it wouldn’t really break with the spells my sisters added to my own.
I saw him cut his eyes to the Luna as he smiled at her. It was a smile of victory. I ran at him, sidestepping him. I jumped up and hooked my leg around his neck, bending his six-foot-one body into a pretzel and riding him down to the ground, breaking his neck in the process. He sounded as if he was a tree falling to the ground.
“Now!” I yelled into the mind-link, giving the girls the signal to take down the warrior’s as my mate came running to me, tears falling down her face. I noticed she wasn’t crying over the Alpha, but was crying out in joy.
“Thank you so much. He force marked me. He would rape and beat me daily just to get me to accept him. I wouldn’t do it and his mark would fade. He repeated his forced marking and mating everyday. He wanted a son and knew I would have to accept to get his heir. I never thought I would get away from him and find my true mate. I figured he would eventually kill me,” she whispered, crying as she clung to me as if she were a monkey climbing a tree.
I looked at the rest of his warriors and growled, shaking the ground and sending some of them to their knees. “You knew she was being forced, yet you did nothing to help her. What is wrong with you and your wolves?”
“I know,” a voice piped from behind me, almost making me jump out of my skin.
Almost.
Before I turned around I saw everyone drop to their knees, well, some of the other people from the Alpha’s pack didn’t bow. “What’s up, grandma?”
“I came to collect some wolves, wolves who don’t want to do anything but cause trouble.
“This should be good,” I muttered under my breath, but, of course, my grandma heard me.
A man yelled, “We didn’t know what was happening to our Luna.”
“Lie!” I shouted out, trying to calm myself down. It helped when Willow rubbed my arm. “And, she’s never been your Luna. She’s my mate, not his.” These men thought they could get by with doing nothing.
I could clearly see the shock on some of the men’s faces. They didn’t know she wasn’t his true mate. They didn’t know what he put her through. They were sickened by what he had done to her. I was happy to see there were some good wolves in the fuckers pack.
The Moon Goddess walked up to the man who said he didn’t know about the torture. She looked him in the eye as he stared at her, letting out a growl.
My eyes widened and everyone else gasped. I couldn’t believe the audacity of these men. Who the hell in their right mind would growl at their creator?
“I know the answer, Griffith. They growl at their creator because they are stupid,” the Moon Goddess answered my unasked question.
I busted out laughing as the idiot kept growling, trying to act tough and keep his knees from shaking. I could tell he was scared, but he wasn’t going to let anyone know. He didn’t want his men to laugh at him. He was the Beta and he thought he would take the Alpha title now.
“You’re the Beta, yes?” The Moon Goddess asked the idiot.
“No! I’m the Alpha now! You will treat me with respect!” The idiot yelled at her, his face completely red.
“An Alpha has to have respect to be given respect. You, sir, do not have any respect for your pack mates and you never have,” I told him, making sure to make my voice clear and concise.
“What the hell do you know?” He yelled as he moved from foot to foot.
I walked up to him and laid my hand on his arm, taking it away quickly. “I know a lot, like how you slept with your Gamma’s mate or how you slept with this man’s mate and sister,” I told him, pointing at the warrior I was talking about.
“What?” The Gamma and warrior roared out, cutting their eyes at their Beta.
“Oh, yes. He’s raped almost all of your pack mates. Or, he likes to beat them almost to death for a non-existent crime. I know all your secrets, you piece of shit.”
I didn’t mean to make all the women cry. I knew they didn’t tell their mates, but they had been Alpha ordered to keep quiet.
“They were Alpha ordered to keep quiet about the rapes and beatings. They’ve wanted to tell someone for a long time, but every time they opened their mouth to say something they couldn’t. These women are not at fault for anything that was done to them,” the Moon Goddess told them as she looked at the women and nodded her head.
I was sure she had told them something to ease their hearts. I felt for them. No one deserves to be treated as if they were trash. I could feel their pain, but also their joy at being set free.
I watched as my grandma walked around the wolves, touching the ones whose souls were completely black, skipping the wolves who were redeemable. She ended back in front of the Beta.
“Can you help me with something, Trace and Chase?” She asked my brothers.
