Dan had moved to Joshua Tree, California a year or so before George W took a shit on the Constitution of the United States of America. Shortly after the coup de tat, Dan joined the Free USA movement. Using his skills as a US Marine turned serial killer or hitman working for organized crime. He found employment with the Royal Parcel Service.
Sol David Druga and David Estrada had worked with authors…comic book artists…graphic novelists to come up with a line of comic books that extol the heroism of King Bush. But with the right cipher at the back of the comic book hidden within the crossword puzzle. Solve the crossword, The black pattern was placed over a specific panel on a certain page. Use the answers as clues for a hidden meaning on specific pages and panels of the main portion of the book. An overhead projector, sheets, markers, and patience was needed…the specific panel had to be copied onto a sheet for the overhead projector and so the crossword puzzle without the words…was time-consuming. By the next Thursday, the message was revealed.
Graves was given a tube of Free USA protest posters mixed with promotional posters for the Kingdom Approved graphic novel. His job was to either hang the posters himself or pass them off to someone else. But each time there was also a letter to Graves and Tam-Pam. The correspondence was not one-way. The comic book code was replaced by a Kingdom Stamp of Approval. It seemed official, the Kingdom Stamp of Approval…it seemed official enough that officials didn’t ask too many questions.

It was close to Saint Valentine’s Day when Graves received another care package from Free USA…the comic books were a hit. Graves decided to put up the Free USA posters. Graves had a stick of glue and several of the posters rolled up in his backpack. Although he was dressed in black he could put his Hanes zip hoodie in his backpack to reveal a red shirt so he would seem less suspicious as he rode his BMX to the La Mirada Library to post Free USA posters.
“Hey…Stop,” one of the Rainbow Corps said to Graves as he rode his BMX through La Mirada Park putting on his black hoodie and the glue stick. Graves put up two or three of the posters in the Civic Center and library…another two on the pool and the tennis area and that is where he was spotted by one of the Rainbow Corps. The glue stick was flung into the pond…the flashlight…almost kept up with Graves as he rode his BMX through the park. The Rainbow Officer was on foot and his car was on the opposite parking lot from where Graves was headed out to Foster Road near La Mirada High School…Graves was able to hide in some brush at the golf course and make it home before another batch of Rainbow Corps could be dispatched.
“Shots fired…” the officer on foot told dispatch when he got to his cruiser…
