Fire On Fire

Chapter Chapter twenty nine - King Satyr Hellward

The next few days passed by in a blur, and before I knew it, the day where they would decide what to do arrived.

I shifted uncomfortably on the chair as another council member took their seat.

Scanning the room quickly I recognized all the representatives of their species, the leaders of their domains, kings and Queens.

At the far end on the right, sat a man. His face was rigid and stoic, his eyes shone amber and he had a full white beard. He wore full armor and a golden crown rested rightfully on his head. The fae.

Next to him sat a woman. Her face was adorned with jewels and pears, seaweed wrapped itself around her long pink hair. She wasn't wearing a crown but she was covered from head to toe in gold, silver and pearls. Her face was pale and her ears were pointed. The mermaids.

Across from her sat a tall figure. Their eyes glowed a deep green and their hair was short and blonde. Their lips were pursed and they wore a golden silk gown with accents of silver. I spied the hilt of a sword. Big beautiful wings rested on either side of them, their colors a mixture of pink and orange. Who are they?

In the far corner, almost hidden behind the shadows, sat a tall lean man. His ears were pointed. An elf. My heartrate quickened, still in fear after everything.

His deep blue eyes caught mine and he held my gaze. He was dressed casually and his short brown hair was shaved at the side. He didn't look that regal...Finally, after a moment of a creepy stare-down, I broke off eye contact.

There were other people too, but they were just observing from the sidelines.

There was a commotion and I turned to look at what it was.

People whispered as gasps of shock and awe broke out into the room.

There, at the door that lead into the courtroom, stood Ace. I gasped as I took in his appearance.

His hair was slicked back and his big, black powerful wings rested on either side of him.

His thick brows were furrowed and he wore full armor. The armor he wore was unlike any I'd ever seen before.

It had runes and markings everywhere and was pitch black with the runes glowing a deep red. He stood tall, his mere presence, a powerful command.

THIS was the real Ace, THIS was king Satyr, King Satyr Hellward.

On his head, rested a beautiful, black crown. It was dotted with red, diamond shaped rubies.

My breath hitched as he walked in, and took a seat at the last open chair.

The trial began.

I zoned in and out, it was mostly listings of the crimes the queen had committed and a re-run of what happened. They cleared up what REALLY happened to all those demons and I could see Ace struggle to keep his cool.

It was sad that nobody ever paid attention enough to what really happened to all those people. Nobody cared to ask what REALLY happened. I guess at the time they were too afraid.

There was still the case of who murdered the late Queen Isla, the evil elf's mother. My guess is, it was her.

As the trial continued, the truth about what happened to Queen Isla came out.

The queen wanted to put the demons in power because she saw a vision of a war between humans and the creatures. Her daughter, who I learned her name was Amara, didn't like that idea, and most likely, murdered her own mother.

All Amara wanted was power, she didn't care who she hurt in the process. Little did Queen Isla know, her own daughter would start the war.

She killed her mother, blamed the demons and started a war with the humans. That gave her reason to use powerful magic to split the worlds apart, no one questioned it. She had control over everything.

The whole world was at the palm of her hands. I shuddered.

"So it's decided then" a loud voice boomed, and the court fell into a quiet hush.

It snapped me out of my reverie and I looked up to see the Fae leader was now standing up and addressing the court.

"We shall honor the late queen Isla's last wish"

"King Satyr"

Ace stood up, and I realized how tall he actually was. He even towered over the Fae leader.

"You will be granted the honor of ruling all the lands by taking the place of Queen Amara"

"Do you accept ?" Ace didn't so much as flinch or blink.

"I accept" he replied, his voice low and deep.

And just like that, everything changed.
