Chapter Chapter Four- Creepy, Stalker dude
I let out a small breath as he slowly began walking toward me. Frick.
I had nothing to protect myself with! I was still hiding behind the tree for whatever reason, because at this point I was sure he knew exactly where I was.
As I was contemplating my chances he stopped dead in his tracks. A thought struck me, if he was there in my world before - I can't believe I'm saying this- but that would mean that he's connected to all this , somehow.
I walked out from behind the tree and tried to put on the bravest face. MIGHT AS WELL.
I held my head up high and squared my shoulders. I made a fist with my trembling hands and breathed in deeply to calm my raging nerves.
Please don't be dangerous. I prayed internally. Oh who was I kidding? He looked like he killed kittens for a living!
"I know you, I saw you staring at me" I said, trying to keep my voice even. He quirked up an eyebrow, as if surprised.
"That means that you probably know how I got into this hell-hole, and you probably know how to get me back" I pressed, stepping forward. Still he didn't move an inch. What was he, a statue ! ??
Getting annoyed I took another step closer, anger replacing any fear or anxiety I had.
"What, are you deaf ?" I snapped
"I said"
I took a step.
"Take me back home"
Another step.
At this point I was right up in his face and it caught me off guard. Before I could properly admire him from up close though, I heard the familiar bellow and snarl of a beast.
That thing was back.
Almost as fast as lightning he pushed me aside and stepped forward.
Drawing his sword.
It wasn't like any I've ever seen, but then again the closest I've gotten to a sword was the old fragile ones at the museum.
This one had intricate patterns at the hilt and was gleaming under the stars. I stared up at him in shock as he pushed a hand out to keep me behind him.
Was he protecting me ?
Now I started getting curious and I tried to see over him.
Damn he's too tall. I couldn't see a thing with him standing there. I got on my toes and tried to peak over his shoulder. He seemed to notice this and growled at me.
"I suggest you stay behind me unless you wanna become that thing's next meal"
Oh shut up kitten killer.
This was the first time I'd heard him speak. And God, I gotta say....damn. His voice was deep, rough and husky. It sent shivers down my spine and my heartbeat accelerated. Oh no no Ava NO.
For some weird reason though, I obliged.I stayed back. Whatever that thing was, it was way too strong and powerful for me to beat on my own.
This guy...he seemed to know what he was doing. Agh. This was frustrating, but I needed his help whether I liked it or not.
He crouched down and stood in a defensive position, then he turned his head slightly and nodded it toward the dagger on his belt.
Does he want me to take it ?
Slowly, I moved closer and pulled the dagger out. It felt heavy and foreign in the palm of my hand. The growls grew louder and I gripped the dagger tighter.
All of a sudden, everything grew quiet.
"Is it gone..?" I whispered
"SHHH" he snapped as he listened carefully, suddenly, something jumped out from the bush nearby!
Creepy stalker guy AKA kitten killer, lunged forward and brought his sword down on the creature.
The creature dodged faster than I've seen anyone move, then again this thing wasn't even human.
In a flash of movement it was behind me.
My heartbeat accelerated and I was filled with adrenaline. This little shit has terrorized me for long enough. With the dagger in hand I screamed and sprinted forward toward the beast.
