Chapter Guarded
Beep~ Beep~ Beep~
"WHAT THE HELL!" She screamed.
Suddenly waking up to the realisation, that she wasn't dead, Rosalie scurried around the room dazed and confused.
"What is that? shut if off! shut it off." She kept saying.
In the commotion of it all, she heard footsteps make there way into the room, barreling towards the sound.
"Sorry! sorry...bout that..i got it." Sam said shutting it off. "Well it looks like you've finally woken up!"
"Ya no shit Sherlock." She snarled.
She wasted no time canvassing the room that she was in. There was a bed to the left of the room with a night stand. That annoying alarm, and a dresser to the right of the wall. On top sat a t.v. She thought it looked funny. Too flat she thought. He was looking at her waiting for something.
She looked at him and wondered how she came to be here...........with him. She was having a flashback from the night before.
She remembers going for the alpha, and tusseling with all 3 before one was ripped off her back, giving her some temporary leverage. Then one got her leg, and remembers being hit from the side and falling down the ridge and into a tree.
She remembered a tall dark figure standing in front of her and then it went dark.
"Well, it's looks like your healing quite well. Should be another day before that leg of yours is good to go." He spoke and broke her from her thoughts.
She continued to look at him.
"It was you, that saved me?....Well if you can call it that." She thought.
"You know... it would be alot easier if I knew what you were thinking. Perhaps you could let me in?" He asked.
He sat perched on the side of the bed waiting for anything really. He wanted so badly to talk to her. Even if it was telepathically.
"Don't look at me like that." She turned her head shyly.
As she turned away she noticed a contraption on her leg. It was hard, and irritating. She didn't like it at all.
"I had to put that on to reset your leg. Sorry about that. But I should be able to take it off in a day." He told her. "In the mean time, you just rest here, and when your ready perhaps we can talk face to face?" He looked at her.
She just laid back down and looked towards the wall.
"I'll let you be then." He said as he walked out of the room.
"God.." She took a deep breath. "Ive been domesticated." She sighed.
........
She laid there in the room for hours, soaking up the sun that peered through the window. She was safe for now, and that's all she could have asked for. He would periodically poke in the room to check on her, and see that she hadn't moved. She slept, and Sam took that as a sign of trust.
He stayed downstairs a majority of the day, not wanting to be over bearing. So much was running through his head his mind was restless. So was he. He took a look around the house and didn't realise that his place was ill kept.
Sigh. "Maybe I should tidy up the place. I mean, will it really matter she's a wolf for god sake." He pondered. "Nah, I'm gonna tidy up, I don't want to leave a bad impression." He got to work.
Rosalie finally woke up, and saw the sun setting.
"Gosh, how long was I out for?" She wondered.
She slowly got up and approached the door. It was left open a crack, so she was able to pry it open with her snout. Walking was a little hard with the contraption on her leg, so she took her time. She could hear movement downstairs, and stood at the top of the landing. As she tried to make out what he was doing, he made his way across the room that took him past the stairwell, and came to a stop once he'd seen her.
"Oh hey your up! Sorry about the noise." He said scratching his head. She could tell he was nervous. "Do you need help down?" He chuckled. "I guess you would as that thing will make it hard to come down the stairs eh?"
He made his way up the landing, and approached her. She took a few steps back to show him that she wasn't quite comfortable.
"It's ok..........you can trust me." He stuck his hand out. "Here, take a whiff."
He encouraged her to take his scent in, to show her that he meant no harm. She slowly moved forward and took in his scent. It was a wonderful smell. It played with her senses and she could tell he was warm on the inside as he was on the outside.
"See? I'm not that bad." He stated. "I'm gonna pick you up now." He placed one arm under her chest and wrapped his other behind her legs and lifted her up with ease. Once he made it to the bottom he placed her down, and walked to the kitchen. She stood there and he brought out a platter of food and a bowl of water.
"Here, you must be hungry, so I'll just set this down here." He positioned it in front of her.
"Wasn't sure what you would like, so I just kind of threw a whole bunch of stuff on there. I wasn't sure what meats you liked, but you got some ham, there's some left over steak, cold cuts. He took a breath. Steaks my favorite, and you know? I'm not sure if you've tried.........."
"This guy won't shut up." She thought to herself.
She gave him one look, a look that didn't require any translating.
"Shutting up." He motioned his fingers across is mouth.
She looked at the entree, and took in the feast. If she was gonna get outta here she had to be stronger, so she accepted. After she was done, she grabbed his attention by looking at her leg.
"Ah Yes! ok let's take a look." He sat down next to her and removed the makeshift cast.
"Let's take a look. Can you walk over there and tell me if it hurts?" He asked.
She complied and did what he asked. It was sore but manageable. Certainly able to walk with that horrid thing off, but not able to sprint or run. She sat down and looked at him.
"So listen." He seemed agitated. "I was wondering if you could...m...maybe shift, and we could talk?"
She looked down, trying to express the emotion of sadness. If she was going to get her message across she would have to become animated. Scooby doo animated. She couldn't telepathically talk to him like other shifters can. She didn't know why. Just another one of her misfortunes.
"Okay. Well how bout this. Why don't I ask you some questions and you can bark once for yes and twice for no." He suggested.
Bark
"Okay. You aren't from here correct?"
Bark
"Where I tracked you. The clear cut? Was that your home?"
Bark
"Hmm. okay. Do you belong to a pack?"
Bark~ Bark
"So your a rogue then. "He stated.
She growled.
"Okay fair enough. So you aren't a rogue, but you don't have a pack. Did you use to belong to one?"
Bark
"Something happen to them?"
Bark
"I see. So you used to belong, but something happened. I presume nothing good. He looked at her. And your not a rogue, so that makes you.........a......nomad? perhaps?"
"Nomad." She thought. "Hmph I like that."
If wolves could blush.
Bark
"Okay..final rapid fire questions!"
"Are you still hungry?"
Bark
"Do you feel safe?"
Bark
"Do you think I'm sexy?"
Bark~Bark
"There was no hesitation there. That hurt, I'm not gonna lie. Last question! you can't shift worth shit can you?"
Bark~Ba-
"Shiiiiiiiiiiiit!" She said.
