Chapter 49
Chapter 49 His Help
She subconsciously looked around and breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that no one was around. "Why are you here?"
Huston didn't reply. Instead, his gaze fell on the document she had opened. "Didn't you just sort it out?"
Evelyn was stunned and followed the man's gaze. She didn't expect him to have a photographic memory. He had only glanced at the document last time and had memorized it until
now.
"Our manager said that there were some mistakes and asked me to revise it."
"Where are the mistakes?"
She pulled a long face. "I don't know."
"Don't you know?" Huston raised his eyebrows and tapped twice on one of the pages with his slender fingers. "Didn't she mark them?"
"No." She looked up at him. "She asked me to re-examine it myself."
He looked at the woman in front of him, who had shallow dark circles around her eyes. He walked around the desk and pulled out a chair to sit beside her. Then he took the document from the table and asked, "How many pages do you finish checking?"
When she came to her senses, she flipped through two pages of the document. "llere."
He continued to read it. The large office was quiet, and his cars were full of her rapid breathing. She couldn't help but look at the man beside her from the corner of her eye. He was only wearing a shirt, and she didn't know where his coat was. The luxurious watch on his left wrist made him look even more noble. His hair was combed neatly, revealing his smooth and full forehead. Under the light, he looked particularly handsome.
Sexy.
This was the first word that flashed through her mind. Unlike when he was having sex with her in bed, Huston, who was working hard now, made her have an impulse to covet him but didn't dare to get close to him.
As she watched, she couldn't help but turn her head to face him. She didn't notice it at all, and her frank eyes made it hard for him to concentrate.
"Look at the documents."
As soon as she heard his cold voice, she realized that she had lost her composure. She was so embarrassed that she blushed and hurriedly looked away. She thought, "I'm obsessed with lust..."
She had thought that it would take a long time for him to check the document. But he found two mistakes and marked them with suggestions within half an hour.
She once again sighed with emotion that although she had always thought of him as a dressed-up beast, she had to admit that he was more professional than anyone in terms of the law.
He was so powerful that she felt that those articles of law were just a part of his brain. He could use it at any time, and he didn't need any reference at all.
"It's all a low-level mistake. Don't make it again." He handed the document back to her.
"Got it. Thank you." For some reason, she felt a little embarrassed. If Eva knew what Huston had done for her, Eva would probably hate her and even want to skin her alive.
The woman's intuition told her that the reason why Eva hated her so much might have something to do with Huston.
"Pack up your things. I'll send you back."
