Chapter 48
Chapter 48 The Superior Is Being Difficult
Charlie left them a lot of files, telling them to study more when they were free. Then Evelyn took the first legal case in her life. It was a case about a company and an employee's personal injury dispute.
As for Stella, she took a case about an emotional dispute. Although both of them were not major cases, the case Evelyn was handling was more difficult fundamentally.
Charlie was also involved in this case.
"Evelyn, if you have any questions, you can come to me at any time. You have to be there when there is a meeting, understand?" Charlie said concisely. Evelyn nodded. "Got it."
"Okay, let's call it a day."
Seeing that Charlie was about to leave, Stella stood up anxiously and asked, "Lawyer Athena, what about me?"
"You?" Charlie glanced at her as he sorted out the things in his hand. "Don't you know that you should ask the person in charge of the case?"
Stella choked and replied weakly, "...I know."
Charlie ignored her and wolled out of the conference room
could finish reading them, she heard Stella's sarcastic voice. "Evelyn, you're amazing. You started learning from Lawyer Athena as soon as you join the company. He also teaches you to handle the case." Seeing the disdain in her eyes, Evelyn didn't intend to argue. Evelyn replied lightly, "Thank you."
After that, Evelyn took the things and walked out without looking back.
Stella didn't expect Evelyn to have such a reaction. She swung her arms angrily. "What a b*tch!"
After Evelyn returned to the office, Ada poked her head out from behind the partition and winked at Evelyn. "Evelyn, the manager is looking for you."
"What's wrong?"
"I don't know." Ada lowered her voice and added, "She doesn't seem to have a good mood. You'd better be careful."
Evelyn nodded, walked to the manager's office, took a deep breath, and knocked on the door.
"Come in."
With a click, the door opened. Eva was sitting behind her desk, staring at the computer screen. When she saw Evelyn coming in, her face darkened. She threw a blue folder on the table and said, Evelyn took it and was still a little nervous in front of Eva. "Ms. Pierce, which place is wrong?"
It was such a thick document. If she really flipped through it page by page, she might not be able to finish it until midnight.
"Is it my work or yours?" Eva's tone was not good. "Do you want me to mark it out and then teach you how to modify it?"
Evelyn felt that her request was normal, but Eva's hostility surprised her. After all, they were working, and it would affect the work too much if personal emotions were mixed.
But there was nothing she could do. After all, Eva was a leader.
Evelyn had no choice but to leave with the documents and return to her seat to check them page by page.
So, when it was time to get off work, Evelyn still didn't leave on time. Jerry's call annoyed her, so she simply turned on the flight mode of her mobile phone.
After an unknown period, all the people in the office were gone. There was no sound at all, and the light above her was suddenly blocked by darkness.
Evelyn was shocked. The moment she looked up, she saw an extremely familiar face.
