Fifteen with An Attitude

Chapter 12 It All Started Because of A Guy

"What's your plan for Saturday?" Katelyn asked while she, Becca, and Sarah were walking to class.

It had been almost two weeks, ten days to be exact, since Becca got the spanking for the little food fight incident and she had been avoiding getting in trouble ever since because Damon was definitely not a light spanker. Though, she was still a bit sassy and having attitude problems here and there.

Since that food fight incident, Becca and Katelyn became good friends, along with Sarah. At first, Sarah was all shocked by the new friendship thing between Becca and Katelyn, but Sarah and Katelyn got along well and she was glad Katelyn could join in their little circle of friendship. Becca and Katelyn had finished with their week of detentions and cafeteria duty. It was awful and boring, but on the bright side, at least Becca made a new friend.

"Uh... Nothing?" Becca answered, wasn't sure where that conversation would go.

"Oh, come on!" Sarah threw her hands in the air, like it was obvious, "It's weekend and your parents will be out of town. Saturday night, no parents, no guardian, no rules. It's the perfect time for... Let's just say... A party?" A troublesome smile grew on Sarah's lips.

Becca just got the news the day before about Damon and Elena who would be going to New Orleans for some vampire business trip on Saturday, so she would be staying at home while they were gone. Somehow, Becca told the news to her friends about it by leaving out the vampire business trip, of course. She just simply mentioned that her parents would be going out of town that weekend and Sarah and Katelyn became all excited.

Becca darted her eyes between Sarah and Katelyn who shot her with a meaningful look. "No! No, no, no," Becca answered and shook her head.

Sarah groaned. "Come on, Becca! The whole school is gonna be there! Your party rocks and you're gonna be popular in just matter of seconds! Just imagine it B. Awesome party at your house and you're gonna be invited to every other party hold by anyone in this school. Plus, we're gonna have so much fun," she said.

"That sounds great, but as bad as I want to, I can't. Okay? Uncle Ric will babysit me anyway and I would be dead if Dad finds out about it."

"Uncle Ric?" Sarah asked, raising her eyebrows.

"I mean... Mr. Saltzman. It's complicated," Becca groaned.

"You called Mr. Saltzman 'Uncle Ric'?" Katelyn asked in disbelief.

"I told you guys it turned out that he's my dad's best friend and he wants me to call him Uncle Ric outside the school," Becca explained. "How does it feel have your teacher hang out at your house?" Sarah asked out of curiosity.

"It's awesome and fun. It's not like weird or anything," Becca answered sarcastically and rolled her eyes. Sarah let out a slight laugh.

"It is so not cool to have your teacher babysit you," Katelyn commented.

"Why do I need babysitter anyway? I mean... I'm fifteen. I'm not five. I can take care of myself for God's sake," Becca said, threw her hands in the air.

"That's why you need to convince your parents to leave you by yourself while they go to New Orleans. Then we're gonna have the best night ever!" Sarah squealed.

"I don't know S... If I get caught..."

"You're not gonna get caught! We're going to help you clean up the mess after the party, right, Kate?" Sarah said, drifted her gaze to Katelyn.

"Of course," Katelyn said and shrugged her shoulders.

Becca stopped abruptly, making Sarah and Katelyn bumped into her back.

"What the hell B?!" Sarah said.

"Yeah... You need to stop making people bump into you like that," Katelyn chimed in.

A smile appeared on her lips as she stared at someone down the hall. A 5'8" guy stood in front of the lockers with some friends around. He had dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. He just leaned against the locker, playing with his phone, looking gorgeous. Becca's eyes softened and sighed dramatically.

"Who is that guy?" She asked.

"That's Ben Hamilton. Freshman, made his position as the center on the football team, practically the cutest guy in this school," Katelyn answered. Ben glanced up from his phone and showed his gorgeous smile to Becca that made her knees go weak. He slung his backpack and walked away.

"I've got to find a way to get closer to Ben," Becca stated at the exact time when the bell rang.

"Come on. We're gonna be late to class," Katelyn said, dragging Becca to chemistry lab down the hall. A smile was still spreading on Becca's lips.

As they reached the lab, everyone was already taking their seats. Sarah took Katelyn's hand and led her to the only empty desk with two seats on it and left Becca stood there. There was only one seat left and it was next to Ben and if she sat in one desk with him, that meant they were going to be lab partners.

"Miss Salvatore, please take a seat," the teacher ordered her.

Becca walked toward the desk, dropped her backpack to the floor beside her, and plopped down on the chair beside Ben. He turned his head toward Becca and smiled at her. She couldn't resist his charm, she smiled demurely at him. The teacher went on and on and on about what they were going to do that day, but Becca and Ben was too busy looking at each other to actually listen to his blabs. Finally, it was time to do their assignment with their lab partner. "It's Becca, right?" Ben asked as he put his goofy glasses on.

"You know my name?" Becca asked, putting her goofy glasses on as well.

Ben chuckled. "Of course I know," he said that made Becca blushed slightly.

"Umm... I don't get your name, Mr. I-know-your-name," Becca said, shaking the blue liquid inside the Erlenmeyer flask.

"It's Ben Hamilton," Ben answered and smirked.

They mixed two liquids together and waited for the reaction to start.

"So, Ben... There will be a party at my house this Saturday. It would be really awesome if you could come," Becca told him.

"Count me in," Ben said and showing his gorgeous half-smile. Becca smiled in response.

They continued with their chemistry assignment while chitchatting with each other and the bell rang before they knew it. Becca gathered her books and accidentally dropped her chemistry text book. Ben grabbed it before the book touched the ground and gave it to Becca.

"Wow, your fast," Becca said.

"I guess Coach Bill chose me as the center for a reason," Ben said, shrugging his shoulders.

Becca chuckled. "Thanks," she said, referring to the book and held it on her arm.

"No problem," Ben said.

"Maybe it was a Freudian slip?" Ben asked while walking out of the class with Becca beside him.

"Oh you mean dropping the book accidentally because I hate the subject?" Becca answered and Ben nodded his head.

"I don't think so. Chem isn't my favorite subject, but I think it's okay," Becca told him.

"Cool. Chem is actually my favorite subject," Ben said.

"Cool," Becca said, smiling demurely at him.

"Alright then... See you later, Becca," Ben said, waving at her as they parted ways in the hallway.

Becca smiled and waved at him. Then she turned around just to find Sarah leaned against the locker with a smirk on her lips and Katelyn raised her eyebrows.

"So?" Sarah asked, "How did it go?"

Becca just smiled from ear to ear. "Get ready guys. The party is so on!" Becca said as her eyes twinkled mischievously. "Now what we have to do is get rid of Uncle Ric and plan the party," she said, a mischievous grin plastered on her lips.
