Fentanyl E001: The Mysterious Experiment(Book 1)

Chapter 19: Secrets and Shadows

Third Person's Point of View

Nisha's once vibrant spirit had dissipated like a bubble, leaving her heartbroken and devastated by Kimeniah's untimely death. She hadn't expected her sister's life to be cut short so abruptly. The pain weighed heavily on her, and she found herself unable to speak freely. Her words were scarce, spoken only when absolutely necessary. Throughout it all, Shawn remained a constant support, never faltering in his encouragement for her to stay strong and fight on. Nisha knew she could rely on him, but the grief was too overwhelming to shake off.

Meanwhile, Shione was busy making plans for the impending war. Uncertain of when or how it would unfold, he ensured his men practiced rigorously and remained vigilant to any signs of trouble. The Peur Organization had gone quiet, which left him uneasy, sensing that something was amiss with his father's absence. In the city of Ottawa, there were no schools; the chaos had caused everyone to be in a state of disarray. Additionally, he couldn't figure out who was behind the newly formed company that had emerged, adding to the mysteries surrounding the situation.

As Nisha and Shawn each faced their own challenges, their paths seemed destined to intertwine in this chaotic and dangerous world. The uncertainty ahead only fueled their determination to uncover the truth and fight for what they believed in.

Truce was determined to lend a hand to the Shiones. Even though he couldn't save his own daughter in time, he remained resolute in seeking justice for his wife and daughter. He couldn't forget about Nisha, and that drove him to continue living and fighting.

In the midst of chaos, they were trying to escape the hurricane of danger. Nathalie was diligently working on developing a remedy for the victims of the Fentanyl experiment. She had faced failure before, but she refused to give up. Her determination to help Nisha and others was unwavering.

"How did it go?" Shawn's voice interrupted her thoughts, and Nathalie turned to face him. He noticed the beads of sweat on her brow, and concern filled his eyes. Nathalie shook her head, indicating that she was still facing challenges and had not yet succeeded in her efforts. Despite the setbacks, she was determined to press on, knowing that lives depended on her perseverance and ingenuity.

Nathalie felt frustrated as she discarded the chemicals she had been working with, still unable to complete the formula for Fentynol. The drug possessed incredible healing capabilities, but its complexity made it one of the most difficult substances to manufacture. Surprisingly, Scarlette, with her exceptional intelligence, managed to complete it within a month.

"Can you tell me where Nisha is?" Nathalie inquired, setting aside the pages with the incomplete protocols as she approached Shawn, who seemed exasperated. He let out a sigh, signaling his annoyance.

"She's locked herself in her room. Her spirits aren't in the best place right now. I can't read her feelings because she's shutting them off, but I can sense her emotions. She's enraged, and I have no idea what's going on in her thoughts. It's a cause for concern," Shawn explained, his worry evident. Nisha had become an enigma, and even he couldn't predict her future actions anymore. She was a great mystery to him, and it troubled him deeply.

"We'll need to closely monitor her the next day. The sight of dead bodies still causes her to pass out, and we're uncertain about other potential side effects of Fentanyl," Nathalie shifted the conversation, her fear and concern evident. They knew they had to transport Nisha to a laboratory where her body and blood could be thoroughly examined.

"I agree. Her reflexes have become remarkably strong and quick," Shawn added, acknowledging Nisha's progress despite the challenges she faced.

Nathalie recalled what she had learned in her studies. Despite Nisha's dissatisfaction with herself, she continued to practice, determined to improve. Nathalie firmly believed that Nisha was capable of achieving great things, and she couldn't help but notice the changes in her friend's behavior and abilities. Nathalie's curiosity was piqued, and she had discovered certain facts that contradicted Mr. Shon's claims. To get to the bottom of it all, she knew she needed to examine Nisha in the lab.

Feeling jittery and restless, Nathalie took a deep breath to steady herself. The next day would be crucial, and she hoped that all their unanswered questions would be resolved. She sighed, anxiously waiting for what the future held.

Nathalie couldn't shake off the lingering doubts and questions that had been bothering her for a while. The contradictions she had discovered in her research raised suspicions about Mr. Shon and the information he provided. She wondered if he was concealing something or if he himself was being misled by others.

As she muttered words into the breeze, Nathalie's mind raced with possibilities. She knew that finding the truth was essential not only for Nisha's well-being but also for understanding the larger picture of the chaotic world they were living in. The secrets and mysteries surrounding Fentanyl, the Peur Organization, and Mr. Shon's role in it all weighed heavily on her conscience.

Nathalie resolved to remain vigilant and determined. The answers she sought could hold the key to uncovering the truth and potentially altering the course of events in their dangerous world. Her determination to find the truth and protect her friends, especially Nisha, only grew stronger as she faced the uncertainty and challenges ahead.

Someone's Point of View

As I sensed his presence behind me, I couldn't help but ask, "What's the latest?" I had no intention of confronting him directly; I simply wanted to hear any news he might have about the plans of the Peur Organization.

"They're keeping tabs on all the pupils they've kidnapped. Most of them are lost, but there's an odd case of someone who is currently bedridden," he said, his tone calm yet tinged with worry. I smirked at his words and raised my right hand, silently signaling for him to continue.

Before he could proceed, he sneezed, and I held back a chuckle, amused by the momentary interruption.

"Kimeniah's body was found in the laboratory. I have no idea what they've done to her. According to the experiment results, her body couldn't resist the Fentanyl coursing through her veins. She's on the verge of becoming a demon, but she's still unconscious, fighting to control the monster within her. In a nutshell, she's under constant observation," he explained. I remained silent for a while, trying to digest all the information.

The news of Kimeniah's condition weighed heavily on my mind, and I felt a mixture of sadness, anger, and determination. The fight against the Peur Organization seemed more crucial than ever, and I knew we had to find a way to rescue Kimeniah and put an end to their dangerous experiments.

"It's strange," I muttered to myself as he departed, leaving me alone with my thoughts. I stared into the abyss, lost in contemplation.

Without delay, I pressed the intercom button, summoning another scientist to my lab. As soon as he entered, I spoke with authority, "Hunt a deer and bring it to my lab. Then keep an eye on me, as I'll be taking charge of the work. I have dismissed you, and you must follow my instructions."

The door closed behind him, leaving me in solitude once again. I took a seat at my desk and poured myself a glass of wine. As I gently swirled the liquid, my thoughts remained focused on my plans.

Suddenly, the entryway opened again, and I looked up to meet his gaze. I noticed him clenching his teeth, clearly agitated.

"How do you intend to proceed!" he yelled, his emotions running high.

I maintained my composure, remaining cool and collected as I placed the glass back on the table. "I have my methods," I replied calmly, refusing to be intimidated by his outburst.

"What is my strategy? That is something only I am aware of. Why are you in my territory in the first place? Trespassers like you do not have access to Red-In-A01," I replied icily, my eyes narrowing as I noticed his clenched fist. I signaled for him to leave, but he remained, giving me a death glare.

"Why are you lurking in the shadows?" he inquired, his frustration evident.

"Mr. Shione, please take a deep breath and relax. I have no intention of harming you. I am simply doing what I believe is right, and those who have wronged me will pay for their actions. I am neither your enemy nor your ally. If you don't leave now, I'll have no qualms about throwing you in Greenhills," I stated firmly, leaving no room for misinterpretation.

"Just make sure no one gets hurt as a result of your actions. And I'll never forget this day. You're going to pay the price if you hurt them," he warned before storming out of the workplace. His desperation to understand my motives and goals was evident, but I shook my head in response, not giving him any answers.

I knew I had to issue the alert, and I was ready to exact revenge for what they had done to me. Their actions had shattered my life, and I was determined to bring them down, no matter the cost.

Their lives would pale in comparison to the decay and destruction they had caused me. I was prepared to make them pay for their sins, no matter how far I had to go or how much I had to sacrifice. The consequences of their actions would catch up with them, and I would ensure justice was served, even if it meant plunging into the darkness to achieve it.

Nisha's Point of View

Nathalie insisted that I allow them to examine my physique, and I silently agreed. I didn't respond, but something had shifted within me. Kimeniah's death had a profound impact on my life, and I was determined never to let another person perish because of the chaos around us. The next step was clear to me, and it involved understanding myself better and preparing to confront the enemy lurking in the shadows. I knew the Peur Organization was planning against Mr. Shione, and I was resolved to stand up for him and protect him.

In the research facility, Shawn stood beside me, trying to read my thoughts, but I kept my mind guarded. I was the only one who knew the truth, and I intended to keep it that way, even if it meant facing the dangers alone.

Nathalie arrived with a tray and a large needle in her hands. They intended to take a sample of my blood during the examination. I didn't refuse because I wanted to learn more about myself. I had discovered new abilities within me. I could read minds and conceal my presence from others, making it easy for me to eavesdrop on their secrets. I had sharp reflexes and could anticipate the enemy's moves, giving me an advantage in the battles to come. My abilities were growing, and I was ready to harness them for the greater good.

As I lay there, prepared to be unconscious for a while, Shawn approached me, his concern evident. I nodded in response to his question, acknowledging that everything was in order. He moved closer and kissed me gently on the forehead, causing me to close my eyes instinctively.

"My darling, I'll do anything for you. I love you," he whispered, his voice trembling with emotion. The words were a comfort, and I cherished them as I gradually succumbed to darkness.

When I opened my eyes again, I found myself in a strange and unfamiliar place. The surroundings were all white, but it didn't strain my eyes. Just as I was about to close my eyes again, something unexpected happened. A visual appeared, suspended in the middle of my forehead, capturing my attention. I couldn't comprehend what it meant or why it was there, but it intrigued me. My mind was now filled with questions about this new development and what it might signify.

As I observed the unfamiliar female figure in the chaotic jungle that had replaced the white surroundings, a flood of emotions overwhelmed me. I wanted to run away, but it was as if an invisible force held me in place, compelling me to watch the scene unfolding before me.

The woman called out a name that surprised me-Shawn. She appeared disheveled, her appearance stained with blood, and her wild hair added to the sense of anarchy around her. Though my vision was not entirely clear, I recognized her as Ate Scarlette, someone from Shawn's past.

"Ate Scarlette!" I called out involuntarily, not knowing how to react or what was happening. This vision seemed to be leading somewhere, and I couldn't shake the feeling that there was a deeper significance to it.

The scene before me was filled with chaos and desperation. Scarlette pleaded for my rescue, stressing the urgency of the situation, while Shawn seemed to be nowhere in sight. Despite the distance, I could still hear Shawn's voice, indicating that he was not too far away.

Scarlette mentioned that she had captured someone named Nathalie in the laboratory, and my heart sank with concern for my friend. But before I could process it all, Scarlette suddenly pulled me up against the large tree, revealing the powerlessness of my body.

As they both turned around, I saw Scarlette holding a dagger. Panic overwhelmed me as I screamed, trying to wake them up from whatever trance they were in. But my efforts were in vain, and I could only watch in horror as Scarlette was attacked and wounded.

In a fierce exchange, Scarlette managed to retaliate, delivering a fatal blow to her adversary's heart. Shawn was distraught, holding me close and unable to intervene. Scarlette's gaze shifted to us, concealing her pain despite her injuries.

I felt powerless, unable to do anything but watch the unfolding events. The vision was both unsettling and revealing, leaving me with a multitude of questions and emotions.

The vision continued, and I saw Shawn reluctantly following his sister's lead. I was in pain, but I couldn't shed tears. The intensity of the situation left me numb and overwhelmed.

In the vision, I witnessed the moment of my adoption by Daddy Truce, which brought a mix of emotions. But the most shocking and heart-wrenching part was witnessing Mr. Shon shooting Scarlette in the head, leading to her tragic death. Shawn was left helpless, screaming and wailing in grief and frustration.

The weight of the vision was immense, leaving me reeling with the knowledge of the painful past and the connections between these people. I felt an overwhelming sense of loss and a need to confront the truth of my own existence. Everything seemed to be intertwined, and I couldn't help but wonder what my role was in all of this, and how my actions would affect the future.
