Chapter Through her eyes
Lucas's POV
When we walked out of the hospital I looked down to her and saw the expression on her face when she looked around at her new surroundings, I can't tell if she was nervous or not. The realization that she wasn't where she probably thought she was hit her but she looked almost at peace with it. I didn't want to say anything, just wanted her to be able to take it all in and only answer her if she questioned anything. When we got to the car and she got in, I took in a deep breath, put her bag in the trunk before climbing in next to her. I couldn't help but look at her, constantly watching her expressions, she truly says everything with her eyes, they speak volumes, she looked at me and I could tell she realized I was watching her with a ridiculous grin upon my face and she smiled ever so shyly before looking down and then back to the window. It took everything in me to not want to touch her face so she would look at me again, those deep eye staring into mine, instead I just kept watching her as she took in everything that was around us. My town was small, nothing overly dramatic, perfect and quaint with just the right amount of shops and places to eat and enjoy time with your friends and loved ones. We weren't a giant pack, but we weren't to small either. We had 2 schools here, one for the young pups and one for the kids ranging from 13 to 18, "hmm do you think she will want to attend school again when she is feeling better’ 'l don't want her too, I want her next to my always, don't let her out of our sight’ “Gage, calm yourself, even if she goes to school she will come home to us, we can't just keep her attacged to us, she may get weirded out from us’ he started growling and I could hear it in my chest, looking to her to see if she heard it but she was so mesmerized by what she was seeing I don't think she noticed.
As we drove around, I saw her eyes go wide and light up when she saw the playground and all the children playing, she looked so at peace and I swear her eyes were smiling more than the little smile upon her lips, her perfect, kissable looking lips. I shook my head, trying to stop myself from think this way but it was proving to be difficult as I felt my face turning red and now hoping she wouldn't look to me till it faded.
After making our way around the town I decided to let my mom know we would be there shortly 'Hey mom, we are about to coming around to the house, is everything set for her to come in? I don't want to overwhelm her with to many people and it being to loud for her?" “Yes Lucas, everyone is calmed down, however they are very excited to meet her but I reminded them all to try and let her take it all in before bombarding her, her room is ready as well, the one next to yours like you wanted, hopefully that will keep her at ease with being in a new place. How does she seem? Scared at all or nervous? I want her to feel welcome but do not want to push her either, I know she must be feeling a lot right now’ “She seems good at the moment, happy and peaceful with a bit of anxiety, I can read it all over her. She is calm but still a bit tense in her shoulders. I hope she doesn't get scared as we come in, I too want her to feel welcomed and like she is at home with us." I hesitated for a moment as we pulled into the driveway, watching her eyes go wide and seem to be looking at every little detail of the house. I got out and walked around to her side, opening the door and reaching my hand out to her with a smile, it took a moment and then she reached out and grabbed my hand, it felt like a bolt of lightning running through my hand up my arm when she touches me. She smiled up at me as she got up, 'l wish she would always look at us like this' “Gage stay calm’ I could feel him trying to come close to look into her eyes, same as me. As we walked up the steps I could feel her hand grab on a bit tighter so I did the same back to, like reassurance that everything was going to be okay. We walked in and I swear I had never seen a look like that before, truly astonished at what she was seeing. Her eyes were screaming, in a good way as she looked around her, they were saying everything she was thinking and I couldn't help but smile at seeing her mouth gape open when she barely got a glimpse of the kitchen.
I remember being in her home, it was small and just enough for 3 people to live comfortably. She lived in a little room, big enough for her bed a dresser, desk, and little book shelf, but she definitely made it her own and had artwork all over the walls. I noticed similar art throughout the home except on her parents room and what looked like a small office. I wondered if it may have been her work and her parents proudly displayed it around their home. I hope this house isn't to overwhelming for her and that she can feel as much at home here as she did there.
“Stop staring or you all may scare her!" I snapped at the group off in the living room and they all bowed and looked back to the TV, glancing every so often back to her. My mom came up and introduced herself and Chloe went straight in for a hug! I couldn't believe it, my mom looked at me and smiled so purely as she welcomed Chloe to our home, I could feel the tension rise from her and it put me at ease. I grabbed her hand again after my mom had walked away and started up the stairs with her to show her, her new room
