Chapter My room

Chloe's POV

As Lucas leads me up the stairs of the house I looked either way down long halls that have many doors, wondering why there seems to be so many rooms when I assumed just his parents, sister and himself lived here yet it looked like they housed a ton of people, like the people in the loving room, I wonder if they stay here also. “This place is way bigger inside that I thought it would be, kind of intimidating, we could get lost’ I laugh at myself “yeah definitely don't want to get lost in here, our luck we would never find the kitchen again’ “oh yeah, I can't wait to go in there and look around, wonder if they will let you cook, I miss your food Chloe’ I smiled at that and saw Lucas look to me and smile at me. As we made our way up a second flight of stairs I noticed that there was only 3 doors on this floor. He went to the second door and reached for the knob, turning it slowly before pausing and looking to me "I hope this room is okay for you, you will have your own bathroom and be able to have peace and quiet, it's not what you are used to I'm sure but I hope you will make it your own.” I smiled up to him, sqeezing his hand a little tighter "I am sure I will love it, but where is your room? I really don't want to be to far away from everyone and I see only 3 doors up here yet there were so many on the second floor" he looks to me "It is myself, my sister, and now you up here. You will not be alone unless you choose. My room is right there" he points to the door to the right of mine "My sister is there, you two should get along well, she is 18, like me, her name is Austen, she is my twin." He points to the door to my left and I let out a sigh of relief. "What about the second floor?" "We have a few other that live here with us that my parents look after, my sister and I are their only kids but my mom takes it upon herself to help others when they need. Most kids that live here no longer have their parents with them, like you, they understand what you may be feeling and are excited to meet you when you are ready. I have you up here because unlike them you aren't from our little town and I didn't wish you to feel overwhelmed by everyone. I wanted you comfortable, and honestly I want you close to me so I know you are okay." He says this with such longing in his eyes as he looks down to me with a small smile on his face.

Finally I put my hand to his and opened the door with him. My eyes couldn't believe the size of this room! It was like putting half my old home into 1 room. There was a four poster bed, white with a light purple floral comforter and giant pillows that made you want to jump up and sink into them, a dresser, also white and a vanity, desk, and a large bookshelf with what looked like my books already placed within and some that weren't mine to fill it up. A door was open to the left showing my bathroom, which looked bigger than I knew one could be and a walk in closet to my right with my clothes already hung inside and what looked to be new clothes still with tags on them. "My sister took the liberty to go and grab some new clothes for you when she saw your size, she left the tags just in case there were things you didn't like, hope she didn't overstep, she loves shopping so I couldn't stop her" he said with a little laugh. "That was so kind of her, I truly appreciate that she did that, I don't know how I can repay you for all of this.” I looked down at the ground feeling a little shy and tired, next thing I knew I was yawning. "I will let you settle in, I have some boxes in the back of the closet there that I grabbed from your home, I hope it's what you would want, and some of the artwork I saw hanging in your room are packed back there too. You have the right to do whatever you please in this room, you can paint it, change it around, just make it all yours. Please, I want you to feel comfortable and like you are at home here.” The way he looks down to me, those eyes, so blue, staring into mine like no one else exists, I don't want that look to go away. “If he finds out we are crazy he may stop looking at us like this’ “Chloe! I feel he would always look at us this way, crazy or not, can't you feel it? He wants us, wants to be with us' shaking my head “Callie, enough, he looks at us with pity not lust, I'm a kid to him that lost her parents, like the others here’ “Then why would he put us next to him, not with the others? It's different, I just know it

Lucas left closing the door behind him and I went and threw myself onto the bed "00000, pillow top and everything! This has to be the most comfy bed ever" settling down into it I looked up at the ceiling watching the fan turn and thought of my parents, how I missed them and wish they were with me. I sat up and walked to the bathroom, taking a look around I decided to finally get a shower, turning it on and stripping off my clothes I stepped in and it stung at first when the water hit some of the cuts I had that were still healing but after a moment it felt wonderful standing under the heat from the water. I took my hair down and washed and conditioned it, finally able to get all the knots out, it felt amazing to be clean again. I stood under the water a few more minutes before finally getting out and wrapping a towel around myself and drying my hair. Looking in the mirror as I wiped the steam away, I saw how much better I was looking than when I saw myself the other day. I walked into the bedroom and found a girl standing there staring at me with a big smile on her face.
