Chapter 174 

Edith thought, “Even though Carlos and Natalie had clearly ended their relationship, once they meet again, they would still long for each other, right? 

Moreover, Edward was obviously bullying Natalie. How could Carlos stand it?” 

Edith took a deep breath and knew that she should take one thing at a time and not argue with Carlos. 

Edith pulled back her hand forcefully and whispered softly to Carlos, “Just do what you feel is right. I know Miss Huffam is suffering and she needs you.” 

Every time Natalie glanced at Edith, it seemed like she was asking for help. 

As a woman, even Edith could not stand Natalie’s pitiful look, let alone a man like Carlos. Moreover, Carlos and Natalie used to be together before. Maybe there was something going on between them, and they still had feelings for each other. 

Carlos was a little surprised to hear Edith’s voice and he blankly stared at her. 

Edith nodded reassuringly. Carlos gritted his teeth and said, “Wait for me.” 

His reply was short and firm. 

Edith hesitated for a moment, but finally, she chose to believe Carlos. 

“Carlos will return to me,” Edith believed. 

Carlos rushed forward. He grabbed Edward’s wrist and squeezed hard to force Edward let go of his grip. 

Carlos pulled Natalie away from Edward and guarded her as she stood behind him. 

“Edward, you better not go too far! I handed Natalie over to you hoping that you can take good care of her. Is this how you treat her?” Carlos shouted. 

“What did I do to Natalie? No matter how I treat her, she is my woman. It is none of your business. Beauty, don’t you feel hurt that your man is caring. for his ex–fiancée so much?” 

Edward turned to Edith, who was baffled by his question. 

Of course, Edith felt hurt, but she knew that Carlos definitely wanted to save Natalie. 

There is nothing Edith could do to stop Carlos, so she decided to go with the flow. 

This might be a smart move. 

Edith said, “This is between you and Carlos, I’ll leave this to you.” 

“Wow, you are really generous! Fine, I will keep my hands off Natalie and leave her to you, okay?” 

Edward raised both hands as if he was surrendering, and retreated a few steps. 

Carlos also let go of his hand and turned back to examine Natalie’s wrist. 

Edward had grabbed Natalie so hard that her wrist was bruised. 

Looking at the bruise marks, Carlos felt worried.

Natalie shook her head slightly while covering up her bruise marks and said coldly, “You shouldn’t have interfered. I am already Edward’s woman.” 

Carlos retorted, “But I cannot just watch him bully you and do nothing.” 

“But you were the one who sent me to him. If you hadn’t saved me back then, I wouldn’t be like this now,” Natalie stared at him accusingly with her eyes swelling with tears. 

Carlos trembled and froze on the spot. 

Right at this moment, Edith let out a loud scream. 

Carlos looked back and saw Edward’s arms circling around Edith’s shoulder and pinching her shoulder blade. 

Carlos immediately stepped forward, but Edward was too quick. 

Edward took a few steps back and kicked the chair which landed in between Carlos and himself. 

He sneered, “I have never seen anyone as greedy as you. You are holding my woman, yet at the same time, you want to take back your woman? What kind of logic is this? We should have an equivalent exchange. Natalie is yours tonight and you can do whatever you want with her. Of course, this beauty belongs to me and I can do whatever I want with her. What do you think?” 

Hearing this, Carlos felt very angry. 

He clenched his fists and kicked away the chair that was in his way. He stepped forward and gave Edward a good, hard punch. 

Edward instantly fell down and moved away from Edith. 

Before Carlos could even check on Edith, she screamed, “Watch out, Carlos!” 

Chapter 174 

As soon as Carlos looked back, he was punched hard on the jaws. 

Although Edward was a good fighter, Carlos had fighting skills too. The two of them fought and exchanged fists like fierce beasts. 

They fought intensely as if they did not know any pain. 

In the end, Carlos subdued Edward and pinned him down. The disappointment and anger that Carlos felt all these years were about to explode. 

Just as Carlos‘ knuckles were about to strike Edward’s neck, Aaron exclaimed, “Miss Huffam had fainted!” 

Carlos was stunned, meanwhile Edward anxiously pushed Carlos away and stumbled towards Natalie and snatched her from Aaron’s arms. 

Seeing that Edward was hugging Natalie so tightly, Aaron could not help reminding him, “Easy, you are hurting her!” 

Like a lost child, Edward suddenly found himself at a loss as to what to do. 

He quickly loosened his grip and carried her in his arms. He shouted in a commanding tone, “Call the ambulance!” 

Aaron immediately called the ambulance. 

Edward prepared to leave with Natalie in his arms. At the door, he turned around and stared at Carlos hatefully. 

He squinted his ink–black eyes and pierced across the room. 

“Carlos, this is not over between us!” 

Edward yelled and left the room. 

Edith was very frightened by the fight between Carlos and Edward. They fought as if their lives did not matter. 

Edith quickly helped Carlos up. She felt her heart ached looking at the bruises on the corner of his lips. 

“Does it hurt?” Edith asked. 

Carlos wiped the blood off his lips and shook his head lightly, “You must be terribly shocked.” 

Edith’s eyes teared up. 

Carlos quickly pulled her into his arms. 

The moment he saw Edward approaching Edith, Carlos felt the world was spinning and about to collapse. 

Aaron looked at them apologetically and said, “I am sorry. I did not know he would come and mess things up.” 

“Don’t mention it, how can it be your fault? Everyone knows that your brother is like a madman. He has fought against Boss Carlos for so many years. Now the five–year agreement is about to reach the deadline, how can he not create trouble?” 

“Five–year agreement. 

What is that five–year agreement?” Edith thought. 

In the end, they parted on bad terms. 

Carlos took Edith and left. Along the way, he held her hand tightly. His grip was so hard that it hurt her. 

Edith said disturbedly. “If you are worried about Miss Huffam, you can go and find her. I can take a taxi back on my own.” 

Just as Edith finished her words, the car stopped abruptly at the side of the road. 

Due to inertia, the back of her head hit the seat heavily, which almost made her cry out in pain. 

Perhaps her head felt too painful, or maybe her heart was in too much pain. 

She unfastened her seatbelt and was about to open the door to get out of the car when suddenly a hand tightened around her and pulled her back. 

As soon as she turned around, she fell into Carlos‘ warm embrace. They started to kissed intensely. 

Carlos bit Edith’s lips and sucked hard, which made her lips hurt a little. 

But at the same time, Edith also felt Carlos had a feeling of uneasiness. 

He seemed to be worried and afraid of something. 

Could it be that there was something else that he was worried about? 

The kiss was so deep that it seemed to go through the night. 

After a long time, their lips parted. Edith repeated her actions and reached for the door and wanted to get out of the car. 

Behind her, Carlos unexpectedly scolded, “Where are you going?“.
