Extracts from The Diaries of 'Professor' Cornelius Crane

Chapter July 20th, 2014

I am strangely calm. I think I have accepted the fate that awaits me.

Although my people at Global have been looking at the indispensable and essential Interphase Chip, which we obtained from Westronik some time ago, they are still having trouble deciphering its intricate workings.

It is obvious that the Consciousness Projector will never be completed within a month.

Hell, even my best technicians don’t know the true path I’ve been attempting to guide them down. They, like Steve before them, still think it’s just a more sophisticated machine for mapping the brain.

It’s not about me giving up the fight – it’s about being realistic in the face of overwhelming proof and an undefeatable adversary.

Still, there is a small spark that hopes that my infallible predictions of the future will fail – at least, just this once!!!
