Ex Husband Goes Money Comes

Chapter 480

Chapter 480 Our Difference
This endless physical and mental torture almost made Ronian unable to breathe.
He clenched and unclenched his fists repeatedly.
Anger was building up in his chest. He was on the verge of exploding.
However, Ormand didn't get physical with him at all despite the cup Ormand threw at him at the very beginning. Ormand was
only making him do what he did in training.
So even if Ronian wanted to accuse Ormand, he didn't know what he should accuse Ormand of.
As he was thinking, Ormand tapped his knuckles on the table and suddenly said, “You still have fifteen seconds to decide."
Ronian's breathing hitched. All the thoughts that were in his head a few seconds ago disappeared after he heard Ormand's
words.
Ronian quickly walked to the wall, gritted his teeth, and pulled himself together. Two steps from the wall, he stood on his hands.
He was close to the wall. But he wasn't touching the wall.
This was the whole point. To solely rely on the arms to support the body weight.
The wall behind him was only for him to fall back on.
This skill was very difficult and tiring.
Besides, Ronian was already worn out.
Only two minutes later, his arms couldn't stop shaking.
If he stayed in this position for the whole thirty minutes, Ronian felt he would probably drop dead.
He had not been so miserable for many years.
He would never forget this experience and the guy who put him through it for the rest of his life!
Ormand looked at Ronian from afar and saw his trembling arms. Ormand raised his tea and took a sip. Then, Ormand spoke.

“Ronian, I have stayed in Washington for too many years and neglected you. As a result, you thought more and more highly of
yourself and even wanted to take my place.”
Ronian endured the pain and said through gritted teeth, “Mr. Hobson... You're teasing me... I don’t have the guts.”
Ormand snorted and rubbed the place between his eyebrows lazily. “You are the deputy director, and it's me who trained you up.
No one knows better than me how ambitious you are and how much you want power and wealth.
“However, you have completely forgotten why you started and are becoming more and more like a stranger to me.”
After Ronian took charge of the Felton family, the feeling of being able to order everyone around fascinated him. So he began to
want more and bigger power.
Ronian knew this too. But he would not change, and he did not think he was wrong.
"Mr. Hobson, it's not true. I... I haven't changed...”
These words took Ronian the last bit of his energy. He fell backward and soon bounced off the wall into the original position.
Ormand didn't have the patience for Ronian's nonsense. He said seriously, "You are tired. You feel that your arms are about to
break and even feel that you can't stand it any longer, right?”
Ronian didn't say anything, but it was obvious that was how he felt.
Ormand continued, "When my teacher trained me, it was worse than this. I even felt like I was about to die.
“But in fact, human beings have infinite potential. In the face of absolute pressure, even the proudest men have to bow their
heads.
"Moreover, I knew what kind of punishment I would get if I failed the challenge. So even if it would kill me, I must make it through.
“Ronian, the difference between you and me is so much more than ‘deputy’.”
Ronian was stunned.
He didn't understand what Ormand was trying to do.

Ormand had never talked with him so seriously. Was Ormand trying to remember the past with him because Ormand was
enjoying punishing him?
Ronian thought and said nothing.
Ormand stared at Ronian and said in a cold and cruel tone, "If you can’t get through thirty minutes, it means that your body is too
weak. I will report it truthfully to the higher-ups and ask them to send you back to the training camp to reflect on yourself for three
months.
"In addition, once you leave, the position of deputy director will be vacant. I intend to promote Todd to the acting deputy director.
What do you think?"
Though Ormand used the word "acting”, Ronian knew he would not be able to take his place back after Todd filled in for him.
Ronian's back became stiff, and bloody teeth marks appeared on his dry lower lip. Ronian used all his strength to keep his arms
from shaking.
"I don't think that's necessary. I haven't reached my limit.”
"Good then," Ormand sneered.
Half an hour was very fast for Ormand, who was handling official business.
But for the upside-down Ronian, every second felt like a year. All he knew was he must endure the pain and hang in there.
Half an hour later, the timer went off.
And it was also the time to get off work.
Ronian let out a muffled groan of relief as he collapsed to the ground. And he was unable to get up for quite a while.
Even his eyelashes were covered with sweat. He trembled slightly and was so exhausted that he couldn't even open his eyes.
Ormand had just finished reading all the documents and leaving comments on them with a red ink pen.
Ormand turned off the heater, got up, and slowly walked to Ronian. "You barely passed. Before you leave, remember to clean up
the floor.”

"Mr. Hobson." Barely conscious, Ronian called out to him, "Could I...”
Ormand seemed to know what Ronian was going to say and refused flatly, "No. But if you don't mind everyone in the bureau
knowing you've been punished in my office today, just call in whoever you like to do the cleaning for you.
"If you can't get up, you can walk on your knees. I will make sure no one comes in when you are cleaning. It's up to you if you
want to keep the last bit of your dignity."
Ormand coldly stared at Ronian, who was no better than a pile of trash right now, and didn't feel sorry at all.
"Yes..."
After getting a positive answer from Ronian, Ormand put on his military uniform and headed toward the door.
After a few steps, Ormand turned around and threatened, "Let's hope you have no part in imprisoning Sherlyn. Otherwise, I will
make you regret it.”
Ronian's eyelids trembled. He didn’t answer.
Ormand snorted coldly and left the office.
After he left, Ronian raised his eyes with difficulty to stare at the metal plate with the word ‘Director’ on it. And he clenched his
fists subconsciously.
He could no longer suppress the hatred in his chest.
However, after a short break, Ronian accepted the reality and got up from the ground.
His legs were so weak that he couldn't stand up. Ronian could only walk on his knees very slowly. He wiped the sweat and tea
off the floor with a rag and also cleaned up the broken porcelain scattered all over the place.
After doing all this, Ronian called his trusted subordinate and got himself carried back to his own office. Then Ronian took a bath,
changed into clean clothes, and returned to the Felton family.
Ormand returned to Viorin.
He found the house rather crowded.

Russell, Todd, and Leia were all there. They sat on the sofa in silence, all wearing solemn expressions. They seemed to be
waiting for Ormand to have a meeting.
Ormand walked over and sat down next to Viola.
Despite the audience, Ormand put his hand on Viola's waist, trying to hug her.
Viola hurriedly patted his hand and said in a serious voice, "What are you doing? So many people are watching."
Ormand's wrist was slapped pink, but he did not let go. His arms were wrapped around Viola's slim waist even tighter, and
Ormand said honestly, "I haven't seen you all day. It's like torture.”
