Evil Angels

Chapter 24

Alexandra’s POV

It has been awhile since I have experienced true happiness. I don’t think I can feel any better than right now while I am holding this beautiful girl in my arms. But it seems like that happiness is short lived.

Out nowhere, I heard the flapping of feathery wings coming closer to us. I jumped out of the water watching as the outline of an angel was getting closer to the window.

“Alex, what is wrong?”

“Stay back Emma.”

I stretched my wings out, waiting for it to get closer. To my surprise, the angel actually busted through the glass on the window. Glass shards flew around me and stuck into my wings as the angel stood up, glaring at me then at Emma.

Fuck you.

I felt my evil push forward as I launched towards him. The poor bastard didn’t stand a chance as I held him to the ground, watching him struggle to get free. In one quick movement I took my claws to his heart and ripped it out. The color drained from his eyes and he went limp. Blood was splattered all over me and a pool of blood was running from his body. I looked at my hand that was covered in blood and licked it off, surprisingly numbing my wounds.

Gross. Angel blood tastes nasty.

Larus and Elijah ran into the room, both in their evils. I looked up from my victim seeing Emma standing out of the water, shivering and scared. Larus ran over to me and knelt down in front of me, “Are you back yet?”

What does he mean?

Then, I understood when I felt my evil shrink back inside me a bit. I looked over at the red blood and the angel with a hole in his chest.

Holy shit. I did this.

He nodded his head, “Alright… I will take care of Emma. Elijah will help you with this mess.”

He stood up and straightened out his coat, “Come on, Emma. I will go make you some tea.”

°S-she j-just r-ripped his heart out. I watched it happen.°

My heart broke at how scared she sounded.

She is scared of me.

Larus glared at me, “Fledgling, don’t think like that. She needs time and you need to get cleaned up. Let’s go Emma.”

He escorted her out the room, leaving me with his mate. Elijah knelt down, looking over the angel, “So, I am assuming this is your first actual kill. Besides your first night of course.”

I looked up at him, feeling totally empty inside.

He shook his head, “Alexandra, you are an evil angel. This angel deserves the death he was given. I know Larus is your maker and you have a lot more empathy when it comes to killing because of his angel side but killing is a part of our lives. It will get easier... Let’s clean this up so you can get back to your mate.”

I nodded, “You know what? You are right. I would kill this angel again if I had the chance. He threatened my mate, almost like you did.”

Elijah laughed, “Wow that hurt. For the record I had no idea she was your mate to begin with.”

“Yeah yeah… Let’s get this over with so I don’t have to be in the same room as you any longer.”

I helped him pick up the body that was slowly fading away, and threw it back out the window.

His body should be disappearing soon.

We both grabbed some towels and cleaned up the floor of his blood then threw them away. Elijah observed the clean floor, “Well as much as you hate me, we make a pretty good cleaning crew together.”

I shrugged, “Well besides the broken window of course.”

“Of course… Does this mean we are making progress?”

I laughed, “No way in hell, demon… But thank you for helping.”

He smiled and changed into his human, walking towards the door, “You’re welcome… Oh and you might want to take a shower, pipsqueak.”

With that he left the room and I heard him laughing all the way down the hall. I smiled to myself.

Pipsqueak… What is he in elementary school?

*I heard that.*

I laughed, leaving the room and going up to my room. I jumped in the shower and brushed my blood stained teeth before changing into my human with fresh clothes.

“Fledgling, can you come get you mate before she drinks all of our tea.”

°I am not drinking all of it!°

“I will be down in a minute.”

I rushed down the stairs and into the kitchen. Emma was sitting on a stool, refilling her mug with the teapot. She smiled when she saw me, “Come here.”

I felt so much relief when I saw her smile and went straight to her. I heard Larus quietly leaving the room while Emma wrapped her arms around me. She looked up at me, “How are you doing?”

She is asking ME that?!

“I should be the one asking that. I am sorry you had to see-”

She interrupted me, “-you kill an angel that was trying to kill me… I was shocked. I wasn’t really expecting you to kill him that easily, but you protected me.”

“I am still sorry. That wasn’t me.”

She shook her head, “Change into your evil.”

I relaxed my body and let my evil out, “Why do you want me in my evil?”

“It is who you are, Alex. I am perfectly fine with it too, it is pretty bad ass.”

I smiled, wrapping my arms and tail around her. She returned my hug, “Alex, do you think I can get some sleep tonight? I have to work in the morning.”

I picked her up off the stool and began walking upstairs, “Of course you can.”

She picked at my tail that was wrapped around her legs, “You know I can walk, right?”

“Yes I do but this is much easier.”

When we got to my room, she changed into some pajamas then crawled under the covers of my bed. I closed the window to the room, seeing some snow beginning to fall. I also didn’t want any more uninvited visitors tonight. I felt my wings beginning to itch.

I should probably go fly for a bit.

“Mind if I come with, fledgling? Elijah can stay and watch over Emma.”

Ugh… I don’t want to leave her with the demon.

Emma sat up in bed, “Alex, go. I can feel that you need to fly. I will tell right away if he tries anything. Remember I have the mind link thingy too.”

“I will race you to the fields, old man.”

“With the way you fly. I won’t even have to try to get there first.”

I laughed and opened up the window again, “Good night, Em.”

°Stay safe out there, Alex.°
