Evil Angels

Chapter 18

Alexandra’s POV

I sat on the window sill of my room with my wings folded against my back and my tail and feet hanging outside. I stared up at the night sky looking over all the planets and stars. I have developed a love for looking over the planets in our solar system. The only problem I have had with it is having to focus all my energy on my sight to see that far so I am lost to the world around me.

I glanced over to Saturn watching it’s rings move around the circumference of the brown gas giant. I focused over to one of its moons, Titan. It’s green and blue coloring filled my sight.

Beautiful. This is definitely one of the top reasons why I am happy I was turned.

I felt someone touch me and I instantly jumped up with my wings out, ready to fight. My eyes adjusted back to their normal sight and I saw Emma standing with wide eyes in front of me. I folded in my wings and sat back down, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.”

She let out a breath, “I am sorry too. I was calling your name for a bit but you wouldn’t answer me. I guess you were kind of out of it.”

I looked back up towards the sky, “Yeah, I was just gazing at the planets. Saturn’s rings are beautiful tonight.”

Her eyes went wide again, “You can see that?!”

I laughed at her shocked expression, “Yup, just one of the perks of being an evil. So, what did you need me for?”

“Oh, Larus convinced me to spend the night and I thought if I slept here on your couch or something, you would feel more comfortable. Since, you feel the need to protect me.”

I would feel more comfortable.

“Thank you, Larus.”

“No problem, fledgling.”

I morphed back into my human, “Perfect, you can have the bed though. I don’t sleep much, remember?”

She ran a hand through her long hair, “Of course you don’t. Anyways, I am getting pretty tired and I have work tomorrow. Is it okay if I go to bed now?”

I nodded, “Yeah go ahead. I will be here if you need anything.”

I swung one of my legs back outside and leaned back on the window sill. Emma quietly got into my bed and pulled the blankets over her so only the top part of her face was peeking out. The blonde highlights in her hair glistened in the moonlight while her eyes laid gently closed.

This definitely feels nice having her here.

I looked back out into the sky. My wings began to itch, wanting to go out and fly.

Not tonight. I have to watch over her.

I morphed back into my evil and stretched my wings out. It is pretty chilly tonight so I wrapped them around me so it was like I had a big blanket on.

I stayed the rest of the night like that, staring out at the sky with occasional glances toward Emma. The sun was just beginning to rise covering the sky with beautiful oranges and yellows in no time. Emma turned over in bed before she slowly sat up in bed and stretched her arms out, letting out a yawn.

Cute.

I morphed back into my human and jumped off the window sill, “Morning.”

She turned to look at me, “Did you really stay on that window sill all night?”

“Yes I did. Do you want me to make you some breakfast?”

“Already done, fledgling.”

She thought it over, “I am not sure. I have work in two hours and I have to go back to get my truck.”

I sighed, “Well it looks like Larus already made some. So let’s go downstairs.”

My wings began to itch again.

Ugh… I still haven’t flown since yesterday. I am focusing so hard on staying human that it is making it worse.

“Go fly. I will watch her. You need it.”

I stopped, “Um… actually I haven’t flown since yesterday. Is it okay if I meet you down there?”

She looked back at me and smiled, “Of course! Do what you have to.”

I sighed in relief and let my evil out, stretching my wings high, “Thank you.”

She nodded, “Just be safe.”

“I am always safe.”

I folded in my wings and ran towards the window, leaping out of it. I snapped out my wings and felt the wind push against them.

This feels so good.

I flew up higher and into the clouds, smelling the fresh air and feeling the cool mist on my skin. I folded in my wings and began my descent down to the Earth. I landed at the front door and walked in after I turned back into my human. I walked up the hall and peered into the kitchen, seeing Larus and Emma talking and eating breakfast together. Well Larus wasn’t exactly eating. He was just sitting with food on his plate.

I wish she liked flying with me more.

Larus glanced over to the doorway I was standing in.

“She will learn to love it, fledgling.”

“But what if she doesn’t… I mean a human and an evil angel aren’t supposed to be together.”

He stood up from the table, morphing into his evil, causing Emma to see me standing in the doorway too.

“Alexandra. I never want to hear those words in your thoughts ever again. Are we clear?”

My evil came out and instantly submitted from the tone of his voice. I bowed my head, “Yes, maker.”

He sat back down and went back to his human, “Perfect. Now get in here and take your mate to her house so she can get to work.”

He is still mad at me.

I walked in, still not making eye contact with Larus, “Are you ready to go?”

Emma smiled, “Yes, thank you.”

We walked outside and I felt a little better being away from Larus. Emma’s smile dropped as she grabbed me by my shoulders, pulling down to her eye level, “What happened in there?”

“Nothing. Larus just got a little mad.”

She shook her head, “No. I felt all your emotions. You were sad then you felt like you wanted to curl up into a corner. Then you felt relieved when you came out here. So tell me or I will go ask Larus.”

I sighed.

This girl already has me wrapped around her finger.

“Larus got mad because he read my thoughts and I thought that an evil angel and a human don’t belong together.”

She narrowed her eyes at me, “Alex, I am your mate. I can feel your emotions. I don’t know why or how but we belong together… So, no more of these thoughts because it makes me feel like shit too.”

With that she let go of me and held out her arms. I stood there dumbfounded at what she just said.

Damn okay…. No more of these thoughts. She is my mate and I want to make her happy.

She let out a breath, “Are we just going to stand here all day or are you going to pick me up so I can get to work?”

I snapped out of the shock I was in and picked her up, wrapping my tail and arms around her smaller body, “Yeah… sorry about that.”

She buried her face into my shoulder, “Why are you so tall? I feel so tiny.”

I let out a laugh, “I don’t know I was made this way. Why are you so short?”

She punched my chest with her fist, “Hush, you. I am a normal size for a human. Now, can we get this flying part over with.”

I spread my wings out, preparing to take off, “As you wish. My tiny mate.”

She hit me again before I launched us into the sky and towards her house.
