Chapter 6 A Commitment Ceremony
On the first day they had a blind date, they also got their marriage certificate as well.
This piece of news had the impact akin to that of an atomic bomb. The impact was devastating.
However, if one had learnt this piece of news from Alexander, somehow it would feel more acceptable, as if it was just another small part of their daily life.
At the same time, Allison was abnormally nervous. She was highly strung up and her gaze was fixated on Jennifer's expression, to prepare herself for an escape at any given moment.
To her surprise, after a brief silence, Don and Jennifer both snapped back to reality as they announced in unison, "This is great. It's great that you can get this marriage certificate."
What...
She didn't mishear it, did she?
Allison was sweeping her gaze back and forth between Don and Jennifer.
"Dad, mum, aren't you..." Weren't they going to reprimand her?
Don and Jennifer didn't pay any attention to Allison's response. Instead, they asked Alexander to take good care of Allison thereafter.
Don held Allison's hand and put her hand into Alexander's palms.
"Alexander, I'll hand Allison over to your care. She is a very erratic and insensitive girl who can't focus, but she has her strong suit too. She is especially kind, bubbly and innocent."
When Allison's hand were intertwined with Alexander's, an electric current spread through her whole being, making her numb.
Allison's face became red instantly as she hurriedly drooped her head in embarrassment.
Alexander didn't declare anything profound as he uttered a simple reply, "Teacher, you can be rest assured."
However, his nonchalant words somehow gave a sense of warmth and security to Allison. She secretly sneaked a glance at Alexander from the corner of her eyes.
As expected, he was always good looking no matter which angle she chose to examine him.
This meal date had ended on a good note.
Allison was instructed to see Alexander off. They descended the stairs with her following behind him.
She stared at Alexander's massive back and couldn't help but blush.
Her thoughts were once again transported back to the previous scene earlier on.
She really thought that her parents would fly into a rage, but nothing of that sort had happened.
This was possibly because of this man in front of her.
As her thoughts wandered, Allison stole another glimpse at Alexander's figure. Her gaze shifted onto the ring on Alexander's finger.
Suddenly, her heart started to pound furiously for some reason. She felt the insides of her palm started to heat up again at the thought of his touch previously.
She wouldn't have imagined that such a frosty and cool person would have such a warm side to him. His palms were so warm that it even gave her a sense of security. It was as if nothing would trouble her anymore if she had him by her side.
She could even obtain their marriage certificate even though she didn't have a household register.
Allison couldn't help sighing in heart that Alexander was really something else!
She was too immersed in her thoughts to the point that she didn't notice Alexander stopping in front of her.
The next moment, Allison directly bumped into his solid back, and she couldn't help letting out a moan. She raised her head and took a few steps back in embarrassment.
Alexander responded by turning around and looked at her. There was a gold card in his palms this time around as he handed it over to Allison, "If the amount is not enough, let me know. The password is six zeroes."
Under the glow of the light, Alexander's indifferent features seemed more humane and earnest at the moment. His face was not as cold as before anymore.
"You're giving me this?" Allison accepted the card while still being in a daze. She looked in disbelief at the gold card in her hands.
This was Alexander's bank card, and she could only imagine how much money was inside there!
Allison flashed a look of ecstasy because of her newly obtained fortune, and her expression was completely taken in by Alexander. At that moment, Bernard who was supposed to fetch Alexander was here driving a car.
Alexander stole a glance at Allison who was still immersed in her own little world, and his sexy lips couldn't help raising themselves. However, that smile of his only lasted a fraction of a second, and in an instant his face returned to his normal indifferent face.
Alexander got into the car and rolled the window down. He said in a noncommittal tone, "I will come to take you tomorrow. We are going to our new house."
"Huh?" Allison only came back to her senses at the sound of Alexander's voice, but when she tried to get a good look at him, he was already shutting the window and the car started to depart. Allison had no time to think things through at all.
After a few seconds still in a daze, Allison finally registered an important information from his words in her mind.
Alexander seemed to be talking about some new house.
"Our new house."
Allison clutched the gold card as she repeated Alexander's words. Her face inadvertently blushed again.0000
