Eager Nanny, Reluctant Wife

Chapter 81

Chapter 81

Josephine smiled while continuing. “Aunt Yennefer, you should know me better than anyone else.”

“That’s true.” Even if Josephine was short of money, she would never do anything outrageous. Yennefer had faith in Josephine, after all.

After that. Yennefer asked, “Then how were you able to buy such a cheap house, Josie?”

Josephine replied, “Well, my student’s lather was the one who helped me out. His friend was planning to migrate to an overseas country, so he happened to be selling his house.”

She continued, “Coincidentally, I was planning to buy a house as well, so my student’s father became the middleman for us.”

“I see.” After hearing Josephine’s explanation, Yennefer understood why this particular house was cheap.

“Aunt Yennefer, this is your home from now on.” Josephine handed Yennefer the key. “I’d like to say something about Jonathan. If you were to leave him, you’d definitely live a better life than what you have right now.”

Josephine wished that Yennefer could live out her life happily.

However, men like Jonathan would definitely commit adultery for the second time after having their first taste of it.

Of course, Yennefer knew the truth. She had already given up on her marriage, so she replied, “Don’t worry. I won’t ever give him chances.”

Upon hearing this, Josephine was finally relieved.

Since Yennefer was deeply hurt by the affair, Josephine didn’t plan on showing her the evidence of Jonathan cheating on her. It was to spare Yennefer from a world of anguish and sorrow after seeing the evidence.

Then, Josephine chatted with Yennefer for a long time until the latter’s phone rang.

The moment she saw the caller ID, she hung up right away.

Jonathan’s calls came in one after another, Angered by the spam calls, Yennefer answered the latest call coldly. “Jonathan, I’ve already granted your wish. What more do you want from me?”

“Yenny, where are you? Can you please come home? I can come to pick you up as well! It’s all my fault! Please give me another chance, okay? I really, really love you so much to the point that I can’t lose you! I’d die without you!”

Jonathan’s pleading voice drifted from the other end of the line.

“You’re such a hypocrite!” Yennefer no longer wanted to listen to that man’s voice. “I’ll mail the divorce agreement to your house.”

Then, she continued, “Jonathan, I’ll treat the years we spent together as a sacrifice to you. Let us part ways amicably.”

The moment Yennefer’s words fell, she hung up on Jonathan.

Before hanging up the phone, she could still hear Jonathan exclaim, “Yennefer, I won’t ever get a divorce!”

“Aunt Yennefer, I support you.”

Josephine had stayed in the Zimmerman residence all these years, so she ended up witnessing everything with her own eyes. Samantha had been treating Yennefer badly the whole time, but due to the latter’s feelings for Jonathan, she insisted on not divorcing him.

Josephine had yet to tell Yennefer about Samantha’s attempt to drug her. If the older woman were to find out about it, she would suffer even more.

That was why Yennefer could only be her real self once she left that household.

Josephine’s phone rang at that moment. It was a call from Ragnar. “Where are you? Why haven’t you returned?”

Josephine immediately stood up while replying, “I’m going back right now.”

Ragnar said, “I just received a phone call from Hannah. She told me that you didn’t pick up her calls. Danny and Manny are wailing for you right now. Hurry up and return.”

“Got it.”

Josephine hung up the phone. “Rest well, Aunt Yennefer. This is our home now. You’ve just returned, so you should spend the next few days resting at home. Don’t go to work for now.”

She continued, “There are eggs and pasta noodles in the fridge, so you can always whip something up yourself. I’m going back now.”

Yennefer replied, “You can leave. I’m fine. Thank you, Josie” She was thanking her for giving her a home to return to.

Josephine enveloped Yennefer in a tight hug. “Aunt Yennefer, I know you’re very sad right now. You just have to hang on during this period of time, and happiness will be yours!”

Yennefer nodded. “Hurry up and go back.”

Josephine walked out and gently closed the door behind her. Then, she remained rooted outside the door without the intention to leave for a long time.

Chapter 91

Back in the house, Yennefer’s tears finally rolled down her cheeks. She recalled the years‘ worth of memories she had with Jonathan. Then, she remembered how he had betrayed her, causing her to lose control of her sobs.

Yennefer didn’t have to worry about being overheard by others. She decided to relieve her sadness by crying out loud.

Meanwhile, Josephine stood at the doorway while listening to Yenneler’s sobs.

She wanted to open the door and enter the house, but she decided to not do that in the end.

Josephine knew that Yennefer could survive this challenge in life. Right now, all she needed to do was to vent her emotions and calm down after that.

After standing for a while, Josephine left the house.

She happened to walk past a pharmacy after going down the stairs, so she entered the pharmacy and bought a pack of morning–after pills before putting them into her bag.

Josephine and Ragnar were going to divorce three years later. They had spent the night together without preparing any preventative measures, so she still needed to protect herself and prevent any pregnancies from happening.

After that, Josephine hurried back to the Levine mansion. The moment she stepped into the living room, she could hear the twins‘ heartbreaking cries.

Josephine ran upstairs hurriedly and flung the baby room door open.

Hannah was in the midst of coaxing the crying twins in the children’s room. However, they were still crying their lungs out. Josephine could hear that their voices had gone hoarse as well.

“What’s wrong?” Josephine asked while approaching.

Hannah replied, “It’s the same as before. The twins wanted to seek you out at nightfall, but they were unable to see you for a long time, so they started crying.”

After hearing the response, Josephine quickly washed her hands before taking Manny into her arms. “Sweetheart, I’m home. Please don’t cry anymore.”

Josephine wiped Manny’s tears away for him while feeling her heart wrench in pain. The moment Manny noticed her, he stopped crying immediately. but he was still whimpering sadly.

Meanwhile, Hannah carried Danny to Josephine’s side. “Danny, your mommy is back. There’s no need to cry anymore.”

Danny stared at Josephine with tearful eyes as he mumbled, “Mom…”

Hannah was stunned. “Oh my god! Our sweetheart called you ‘Mom“!”

She was so excited that she requested, “Danny, can you call her ‘Mom‘ again?”

“Mom… Mom…”

When Josephine heard Danny calling her mom, she could feel her nose starting to run immediately while her tears almost fell from her eyes. She accepted Danny from Hannah’s arms as she said, “It’s my fault, Sweetheart. I shouldn’t have come home too late…

–

Danny finally stopped crying as he giggled happily. “Mom… Mom….” The thought of a seven–month–old baby being able to refer to her as his mother. excited Josephine so much that her entire body started shivering.

“I’m here, Sweetheart. Mom’s here…”

Then, Josephine asked Hannah to prepare milk formula for the twins.

When Hannah went downstairs, she happened to notice Ragnar returning to the house. “Mr. Levine, the twins can say the word ‘mom‘ now!”

Shocked, Ragnar quickly ran up the stairs in wide strides.

He then saw Josephine carrying the twins who were calling out to her. “Mom…”

“Sweetheart, you’re amazing for knowing how to say ‘mom‘! You’ll have to learn how to say ‘dad‘ in the future. Your dad loves you with all his heart.”

Ragnar walked into the children’s room in light footsteps for fear of scaring Josephine and the twins. He stood behind her quietly while staring at the top of her head.

Warm golden light cascaded on the mother and the sons. That cozy moment was forever imprinted in his world.

Ragnar’s heart soon melted into a puddle. Danny and Manny were only seven months old, and yet they were able to utter their first word.

Then again, it was normal for the children of the Levine family to be able to speak at the age of seven months old.

“Thank you, Josephine.”

Josephine was startled. She didn’t know when exactly Ragnar stood behind her. “You’re back.”

Ragnar crouched down to look at the twins, who were giggling and mumbling among themselves in Josephine’s arms.

“If it wasn’t for you, Danny and Manny wouldn’t have spoken at such an early age. So, thank you again.”

Josephine smiled. “They would still have spoken even if I wasn’t around.”

Chapter 81

Ragnar raised his hand and caressed Josephine’s smooth face. “Our future daughter will be very smart as well.”

“What did you say?” Josephine was unable to react to the situation.

Ragnar’s dark eyes were fixated on Josephine. “I said, our future daughter will also be very smart. That’s because you’re a beautiful and kind mother. Coupled with my genes, our daughter will definitely be smarter.
