Eager Nanny, Reluctant Wife

Chapter 4

Chapter 4

Yennefer immediately frowned. “Why are you talking about moving out again, Josie? I would be worried if you moved out on your own

Josephine smiled and said, “I know you’d be worried if I was alone, Aunt Yennefer, but what if I got married? I’m 23 years old now. It’s time to settle down. Furthermore, my income is decent, and I can earn side income in my spare time.”

Josephine’s monthly income now totaled 4,500 to 6,000 dollars. She wanted to make a lot of money and plan for her and her aunt’s future.

“Don’t be worried, Aunt Yennefer! I intend to take good care of myself and form a simple, happy family. You’ve been looking after me all these years, supporting me through school and protecting me. Now that I’m an adult, i’ll take better care of myself in the future and be your pillar of support,” Josephine reassured Yennefer.

Yennefer’s eyes turned red. “Our little Josie has grown up!”

“Aunt Yennefer, please persuade Uncle Jonathan to see a doctor as well. The inability to bear a child is not necessarily the woman’s problem. The man should also get checked out.”

Yennefer agreed, “I know.”

They chatted for a while and then went to rest.

The next day, Yennefer had to leave for a three–day business trip. She reminded Josephine to take care of herself before leaving-

After Yennefer left for that business trip, Josephine returned home from work that night and saw Samantha smiling gently and saying, “Josie, you must

be tired. Come and have dinner.”

She brought a bowl of mushroom soup over and said, “This is the mushroom soup I prepared just for you to nourish your body. You’ve lost weight recently!”

Josephine looked at the bowl of mushroom soup. “I’m fine, Aunt Samantha, I’m as healthy as a cow.”

“You should take better care of yourself, silly girl. You’re still young, and you’ve yet to get married… After finishing this bowl of mushroom soup, you should get some rest.” Samantha’s kindness was difficult to bear, and she kept staring at Josephine throughout the meal to make sure the latter drank the mushroom soup. She even said with a stern face, “Josie, you’ve been living in my house for so many years. Why are you growing more and more distant from me? I only ask that you drink a bowl of mushroom soup. I’m not asking you to give up your life!”

Josephine had no choice but to drink the mushroom soup.

After all, as Samantha pointed out, it was just drinking a bowl of mushroom soup.

After dinner, Josephine returned to her room and took a shower. Just as she was about to lie down to rest, however, she felt hot all over.

She didn’t give it much thought.

However, the heat made her feel increasingly uncomfortable. While she was tossing and turning on the bed, it suddenly occurred to her that there was something wrong with that bowl of mushroom soup.

“Despicable!”

Josephine sat up and wanted to take a cold shower in the bathroom.

She accidentally knocked over the lamp by the bedside, and it landed heavily on the ground with a thud.

At that precise moment, just outside Josephine’s room door, Samantha was overjoyed as she said, “Jonathan, hurry up and go in.”

As she spoke, Samantha pushed Jonathan straight into the room.

Furthermore, Samantha locked the door quickly and reminded Jonathan loudly, “Please don’t let me down. The Zimmerman family is counting on you!”

17’09 Tue, 4.

Chapter 4

Inside the room, Josephine was not feeling well because of the bowl of mushroom soup. When she saw Jonathan, who had been pushed into the room by Samantha, and heard what Samantha said, Josephine suddenly understood what Samantha was up to.

“Jonathan, what your mom is asking you to do is illegal! You should be aware of this, and you should know that once you have done something, there is no going back! You’ll have to go to prison!”

Jonathan did not respond.

Outside the room, Samantha, who was still pressed against the door listening to them, immediately said loudly, “Josephine, what nonsense are you talking about? You’re doing this of your own will. Don’t blame Jonathan. When Yennefer comes back, if you dare to expose the truth, she will definitely end her own life! Our family has raised you and treated you well over the years. Do you want to repay our kindness with ingratitude?”

After yelling those words shrilly, Samantha still persuaded Josephine, “Be a good girl and do me this favor. When the time comes, you’ll just have to say you’re pregnant with another man’s child. We will help you raise the child once it is born.”

Jonathan had a tall figure, and he was still rational at this moment. He walked to the door and said, “Mom, open the door. This won’t work!”

“Why can’t it work?” Samantha scolded her son angrily, “It’s your fault for being useless and marrying a woman who can’t bear children! If I don’t help you find a way, do you really want the Zimmerman family to have no descendants? I’m telling you now; you have to get this done today! Otherwise, I don’t want to live anymore.”

With that, Samantha locked the door from the outside.

Jonathan and Josephine couldn’t leave the room at all.

As he looked at Josephine’s delicate face and watched her being tormented by the drug, Jonathan’s mind wavered.

He said to Josephine, “If you’re willing, Josie… Yennefer and I will be eternally grateful to you! Furthermore, we won’t tell anyone about this. It’ll just be like my mother said. We’ll say that this child belongs to you and another man. If Yennefer has a child, she will be very happy. Josie, when the time comes, Yennefer and I will be extremely blissful and content!”

Jonathan actually started walking toward Josephine.

Josephine looked at Jonathan in disbelief. He had always been a good man and was a good husband to Yennefer. Josephine could not believe what he

was doing.

“Don’t come over! You’re totally hopeless! Ask your mom to open the door. Otherwise, as long as you can sit here and not move, I’ll go to the bathroom and take a cold shower. You are my elder. My aunt has done a lot for you. I’m sure you won’t do anything to disappoint her,” Josephine said as she was about to go to the bathroom.

However, Jonathan stood in front of her and blocked her way. “I have no choice, Josie! Yennefer and I really need a child. You also heard my mom threatening to take her own life. Since you’re like in this state now, just let me…” As he spoke, Jonathan was about to reach out and pull Josephine into his arms.

However, Josephine pushed him away.

With a cold expression, she cursed in disgust, “I didn’t expect you to be this kind of person, Jonathan! You make me sick! Get lost!”

“I’m sorry.” Even though Jonathan apologized to Josephine, he had no intention of letting her go.

Feeling helpless, he said to Josephine, “I can’t let my mom take her own life, and just like she said, I’m doing this so that Yennefer and I can have a good future together. Please help us, Josie.”

Jonathan approached Josephine, and Josephine tried her best to dodge.

The sound of things falling to the ground sounded from the room.

Samantha, who was eavesdropping outside the door, was satisfied.

“Albert, the Zimmerman family is finally going to have a grandson!” she murmured as she turned around and left, her face full of smiles. She was referring to her late husband, Albert Zimmerman.

Chapter 4

Inside the room, Josephine smashed the glass and grabbed hold of a shard of glass. In the next second, she slashed her arm hard without hesitation.
