Chapter 119
Chapter 119
Ragnar rarely smiled, but upon facing Christopher, he couldn’t help but break out in a smile.
“Serves Christopher right for wanting to steal Josephine away from me. He can walk over my dead body if he wants to pursue Yennefer,” thought Ragnar.
Christopher stared at Ragnar’s retreating figure and started to tremble. He had never imagined that Yennefer would be Josephine’s aunt.
He thought back to how he had helped Uncle Jonathan in his company dealings and how Jonathan had hurt Yennefer. “That scumbag doesn’t deserve Yennefer!” he exclaimed inwardly.
“That’s why I thought Yennefer looked a little like Josephine when I first met her. Turns out they’re related by blood. No wonder the two of them resembled each other.” Christopher smiled at the thought that Yennefer was Josephine’s aunt.
Christopher chuckled softly at the thought of Yennefer being Josephine’s aunt. He looked toward where Ragnar had gone and muttered to himself, “Ragnar, I’m not only going to pursue Yennefer but also make her my wife. Let’s see how you’d like calling me ‘uncle.“”
Christopher was looking forward to the day when Ragnar would be forced to call him “uncle.”
He was sure that Ragnar wouldn’t be able to let down his pride to call him “uncle.” The latter would surely explode with rage.
Josephine, who was playing with her phone in the room, greeted Ragnar when he came back. “Ragnar, where have you been?”
“I went out for a walk,” replied Ragnar.
“Did you bump into Aunt Yennefer and Mr. Hayes? Should we go and say hello?” Josephine asked casually.
“Nah. Let’s head home.” Ragnar didn’t want Josephine to have any contact with Christopher.
“I wonder if Aunt Yennefer has left,” quipped Josephine.
“I don’t think so. We shouldn’t interrupt them. They’re with a client, after all,” Ragnar said.
Ragnar really didn’t want Josephine to see Christopher, even though the latter had shifted his attention to Yennefer.
More importantly, he didn’t want Josephine to find out Christopher wanted to pursue Yennefer.
Ragnar was sure Josephine would go meet with Christopher to set him up with Yennefer if she opinion of Christopher was a positive one.
To say Ragnar did not wish for that to happen would be an understatement.
“Oh. Okay, then.” Josephine didn’t push the matter further since what Ragnar had said was true.
Yennefer and Christopher stayed in the resort that night..

Initially, Yennefer had plans to go home, but Christopher insisted that the two of them should stay for the night. He told her that the Noctiluca scintillans would appear at night. It was a chance of a lifetime to be able to view the beautiful scenery.
Yennefer immediately agreed to stay the night at the mention of seeing the Noctiluca scintillans. She had only ever seen them on TV, and she wasn’t about to pass up the opportunity to see them with her own eyes.
However, it never crossed her mind that something would happen that night.
They had ordered a whole table full of seafood for dinner because they were Mr. Arnold’s favorite food, and that made him very happy.
“Ms. Yeager, I would like to make a toast to you. It was a pleasure to work with you all from Chueles.”
“You’re too kind, Mr. Arnold.” Yennefer finished her drink in one go.
Christopher noticed that Yennefer’s ears were a little red. “You shouldn’t drink that much!”
Yennefer smiled and told him not to worry.
However, when she raised her glass again, she suddenly blacked out. Christopher, who was sitting the closest to her, immediately held her up.
“Yennefer! What’s wrong?”
Yennefer didn’t answer him, and her eyes remained shut.
Christopher lifted her up and left the dinner table in a panic.
“Mr. Hayes, what’s the matter with her?” asked the shocked Mr. Arnold.
“I don’t know. Mr. Arnold, please help yourself while I take her to the hospital.”

“Do you need my help?” asked Mr. Arnold.
“Nol”
Christopher rushed out of the resort and instructed Matthew to send Yennefer to the nearest hospital.
Christopher’s face was pale with fear by the time they reached the hospital entrance. There was panic in his eyes, and sweat started streaking down his face as he ran into the emergency room with Yennefer in his arins.
Matthew started to comfort Christopher after seeing the panic in the latter’s eyes. “Don’t worry, Mr. Hayes. I’m sure Ms. Yeager will be fine.”
Matthew had no idea that Christopher experienced a flashback as soon as they arrived at the hospital. Christopher recalled how he had brought Amelia to the hospital in the way he did with Yennefer, only for his late wife to never return home.
Christopher was finding it hard to breathe now that history was repeating itself.
The doctor diagnosed Yennefer as having anaphylactic shock from her seafood allergy, which was made worse by the consumption of alcohol.
Yennefer soon woke up after her treatment, but the hives on her body remained.
“You’re awake. Are you feeling pain anywhere?” Christopher had kept a vigil by her hospital bed all that while.
Yennefer looked around and asked, “Why am I in the hospital?”
“You’re allergic to seafood and fainted after eating some. I was the one who brought you to the hospital. Christopher breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that she was awake.
“Thank you, Mr. Hayes. I didn’t know that I was allergic to seafood.” She had eaten seafood before and experienced no problem, so she was confused as to why she had fainted this time.
“Sometimes a person can become allergic to seafood when their immune system is low. I’m so glad you’re okay now, though there are still some hives on your face and body.”
After saying that, Christopher went to get some hot water so that he could clean her before applying some ointment to her
skin
Yennefer started to panic when she heard that she had hives on her face. “I must look awful right now,” she thought. She nearly broke down when she saw just how bad the hives on her body were.
Christopher walked in with a hot towel at that moment and said. “Here let me clean you.”
Yennefer immediately wrapped the blanket around her tighter. “No thanks. I can do it myself.”
Christopher’s face darkened. “How can you do it yourself when your wrist is connected to the IV drip? Besides, it’s not as if 1 haven’t seen you naked before.”
Yennefer’s face turned red. “Mr. Hayes, what happened that night was an accident. Can you please just stop talking about it? As I said, I can do it myself, so, please, go back to the resort. Thank you very much!”
Christopher looked at the stubborn woman and said, “How can I leave you alone when you’re in this state? Don’t you realize that I wouldn’t have gone to such lengths for someone who’s just a business partner?”
Yennefer looked at Christopher and let go of her tight grip around the blanket. Christopher immediately lifted the blanket. and unbuttoned her shirt, revealing the sleeveless undershirt underneath it.
Christopher noticed that there were hives all over her neck and arms, so he gently wiped her skin with the hot towel before applying the ointment with his fingers.
Christopher’s fingers were slightly cold. Yennefer enjoyed the sensation of Christopher’s cold fingers massaging her hot skin. Her heart began to beat wildly, and she turned her head to avoid meeting Christopher’s gaze.
A few minutes later, Christopher was finally done with her. Yennefer had broken out in a sweat. She was so nervous that she didn’t know what to do.
Christopher chuckled softly. “Now, I’ve really seen you at your worst.”
Yennefer was speechless.
Christopher’s mood turned for the better when he saw how pitiful Yennefer looked.
It was already after midnight when Yennefer finished her round of IV drip. The doctor discharged her with a reminder for her to eat more cleanly and to apply the ointment religiously.
Christopher drove Yennefer home. She was shocked when the car stopped at her building.
“Mr. Hayes, how did you know where I live?”
Christopher smiled and thought, “How could I not know when I was the one who helped Josephine buy this place?”
Of course, he only knew where she lived after he found out Yennefer was Josephine’s aunt. It was only possible for him to

send her home after knowing that.
“I was the one who helped Josephine buy this place,” Christopher said indifferently.
Yennefer widened her eyes and asked, “Does that mean the student Josie taught before was Yvette?”
“Yeah!” Christopher remembered how much Yvette liked Josephine.
“Thank you for helping Josie, Mr. Hayes. I’m sure the place would have gone for a much higher price if you hadn’t stepped in to help.”
Christopher smiled even more. “Let’s go. I’ll walk you up.”
Yennefer was speechless. She wondered if it was really appropriate for him to go up to her place at that hour.
