Chapter 105
Chapter 105
Josephine felt a tad guilty, since lying was never her forte.
She secretly took a deep breath and wore a faint grin. “I think we should probably go with the flow, Grandma Diana. The baby will come eventually.”
On the inside, she was hoping that Diana would never find out about the pills she had been taking.
Josephine’s words somewhat made sense to Diana. The latter scrutinized Josephine for a bit before uttering in a soft, gentle voice, “I guess you’re right. It seems that I should pass down the order to get you some health supplements from now on.”
Diana paused for a brief moment before going on, “Look at you. You’re too thin for your good.” As she spoke, she began complaining about Ragnar, “Ragnar, that brat! He’s not young anymore. He really should’ve picked up a thing or two about taking care of others.”
Not a word escaped from Josephine’s lips.
It occurred to her that she would have to go through all kinds of troubles once Diana showed up.
“Actually, Grandma Diana, Ragnar’s been very good to me, and he takes good care of me.” Josephine was beaming with joy as usual. “I’m the one who simply can’t gain any weight no matter how much I eat.”
That remark, in fact, was nothing but the truth.
“I don’t care. You ought to cat more every day. I’ll arrange for someone to keep an eye on you starting today.”
The corners of Josephine’s mouth twitched a little the moment she heard what Diana said.
Be that as it might, she felt a warm sensation deep down.
“Okay, I promise you that I’ll stuff myself with more food in the future and gain some healthy weight.” The smile on Josephine’s face did not fade.
Then came Diana’s response. “That’s more like it.”
She was pretty pleased with Josephine’s answer.
“Go wash up, get changed, and come down. I’ve brought you a gift,” she added.
“Okay.” With that, Josephine turned around and left to do as she was told.
Indeed, Josephine was efficient in everything she did. About five or six minutes later, she had already finished washing up and changing into a fresh set
of clothes.
As soon as she went downstairs, Diana approached her happily and tugged at her arm as they both headed toward the couch.
Diana’s affection made Josephine feel warmth, more than ever.
The second they sat down, Diana handed Josephine a gift box.
tang by the packaging of the box alone, Josephine could tell that it must have cost a hefty amount of money. of that, she was inclined to
reject the gift.
Yet, thinking that Diana would then be unhappy, Josephine accepted it and expressed her appreciation.
After all, she could just return the gift to Ragnar later.
“Mom… Mom…”
Right then, Danny’s and Manny’s voices rang out.
Diana was so excited to hear the kids being able to speak.
Immediately afterward, she saw Danny and Manny come running toward Josephine.
“Oh, my precious great grandchildren! Come on, let Great–Grandma carry you.” While saying that, Diana reached out to the twins..
Both Danny and Manny looked up at Diana, darted toward Josephine, and hugged the latter’s calf.
Josephine had always spoiled them. She gently stroked their hair and picked them up to sit on the couch.
“Danny, Manny, she’s Great Grandma. You two should call her Great–Grandma.” Her tone was as warm as the sun.
When the twins heard Josephine’s words, they gazed at Diana at the same time. Their innocent faces were inundated with doubts.
At the end of the day, Danny was the first to voice out in a sweet tone, “G–Great–Grandma.”
“My goodness!” Diana could not be more elated to hear that. Without hesitation, she reached out and tried to cuddle Danny.
Danny was reluctant at first, but Josephine told him that Diana had always been fond of them.
Danny and Manny would listen obediently as long as the words came from Josephine
“You know, Josie, you’re an outstanding woman. You’ve brought up the kids well.” Diana was content and could not have asked for a better granddaughter–in–law.

Chapter 105
Josephine had raised Danny and Manny so well that anyone could see how the children genuinely fancied her and were very clingy to her
A person like her who would treat any child as their own was hard to come by, after all.
Seeing that Ragnar had married such a fine lady, Diana was truly satisfied.
“You flattered me, Grandma Diana. I’m their mother, so it’s my duty to care for them. Josephine stopped abruptly and looked up at Hannah before continuing. “I’d say most of the credit goes to Hannah”
Again, Josephine only stated the facts.
The last thing she would wish for was to claim all the credit for herself.
Upon hearing the compliment, Hannah blurted out, “No, no. That’s all Mrs. Levine’s diligence. I’m just supporting her.”
She, too, did not have the nerve to ask for any credit.
“Oh, stop being modest, both of you. You two deserve all the credit in the world for taking care of the twins”
Diana had some experience herself, so she would know better than anyone that it was not an easy feat to take care of a child, let alone a pair of twins.
After playing around with Danny and Manny for a while, Josephine asked Hannah to take the children back to their room first. She then enjoyed breakfast and chatted merrily with Diana.
Josephine had a decent character. She could easily get along with everyone around her, no matter the age.
To top it off, she was quite a smooth talker. A word with her was more than enough to elevate Diana’s mood.
There was nothing but a broad smile on the old lady’s wrinkled face.
Ragnar reached home later that evening. From a distance, he could already hear peals of laughter resonating in the living room.
He ambled his way in, only to catch sight of Josephine and grandmother sitting on the couch. Ragnar had no idea what the women were talking about, but they were guffawing the whole time.
The cheerful grin on Josephine’s face was so bright like the sunshine during winter, so to speak.
Seeing her smiling like that, Ragnar felt warm inside.
He had to admit that there was something different about that woman before his eyes.
“You’re back, Mr. Levine,” greeted the housekeeper upon noticing Ragnar.
When the duo on the couch heard the voice, their waves of laughter subsided immediately as they turned to Ragnar in unison.
Ragnar was the first one to pipe up, “When did you arrive, Grandma? Why didn’t you give me a call to give you a lift?” He already paced toward the women when he asked that.
Diana returned a kind grin and said, “Of course, it’s to surprise you all.”
“We’re indeed very surprised.” Ragnar’s tone was much softer when he spoke to Diana,
“Ragnar, how have you been treating Josie? Look at her. She’s so thin,” reproached Diana then and there.
Ragnar kept his lips buttoned at that.
He swept a glance at Josephine with his dark eyes. At that moment, Josephine was blushing slightly, looking ever so attractive ás if she had applied makeup.
Needless to say, he knew that she must be feeling embarrassed because of what Diana said.
“Yes, I am to blame. I’ve failed to take good care of her. From this moment on, I’ll double my effort to improve her well–being proclaimed Ragnar.
Josephine blushed even more at those words, so much so that she could feel her face burning at that point.
She knew very well the meaning behind Ragnar’s words.
Only after hearing such a declaration from Ragnar, Diana nodded with satisfaction. “Now, that’s what I want to hear. You must pamper Josie. She’s your wife, after al
“All right. I’ll do whatever you say, Grandma.”
Ragnar was willing to do anything to heed Diana’s advice.
It was then that he put forward an inquiry. “How long are you planning to stay with us, Grandma?”
“I’ll be leaving tomorrow.”
“Huh? What’s the hurry?” Ragnar was shocked.
Initially, he thought that Diana was there to supervise things between him and Josephine again.
It was only natural for him to feel astonished at Diana’s answer.
Chapter 105
Putting on a smile, Diana stated, “I’m here to take Danny and Manny with me to Muprary. After all, they’re already one year old and can walk on their own. Their grandparents missed them, too, so I figured I should bring the kids to them.” Diana seemed serious with her words. She did not look like. she was pulling a joke.
Before Ragnar and Josephine could say anything, Diana added, “Besides, you and Josephine have been married for over a year. It’s time for you two to have a child of your own. I hate to see her busy taking care of Danny and Manny day in and day out to the extent that she has no time to think about
this.”
Ragnar could not agree more with Diana. “That makes perfect sense, Grandma. It’s time for us to consider this matter thoroughly”
“No! Grandma Diana, we can’t do that!” An outright refusal came from Josephine.
Never in a million years would she bear Ragnar’s child.
