Divinity Of The Lost Elements

Chapter 10

Elementa Guardians’ Names

Fire (Cináed Kia-Zul)

Air (Ilmarinen / Ilmari Elec-Zad)

Upset that I had gone in so early.

Should've waited longer till he had left. I didn't like him seeing me like this.

I am placed on bedrest; I hear the door knock.

"Come in." knowing that it must've been Ilmari. Azul came through the walls since he was banned almost everywhere in the elementa.

We listen to what Azul had found out from his grandfather about Cináed down to the last details of when he sensed my presence in this world.

“It didn’t make sense why you didn’t remember me, why Ahanu couldn’t touch you, or why you couldn’t get in the Era’s land. A land that was named after you. I knew something about you was missing.” Azul said.

Ilmari was looking outside the window with his arms crossed behind his back.

“Hmmm… interesting,” Ilmari said as he turned around with no more expression than an egg.

He is handsome in sight and if my memories serve me right he is a good jokester too. His eyes are grey as thick, almost like prowling clouds in a thunderstorm. His fair skin looks like it has been burnt and weathered by the sun.

He looks at me “Does Ahanu remember anything, Sora?”

“He is powerful. I’ll admit that, but not powerful enough to have remembered everything that he had done when he was controlled by the sins. He can remember small details though once his strength returns. Azul were you able to read through his memories to see if they're real or just altered?

Both sharply turn their heads to me with eyebrows raised. Ilmari's jaw hung open.

"What?" I ask nervously.

"You just remembered something about Azul," Ilmari explained.

"Oh."

I guess I did remember something about the Vons' powers. One of the Vons can enhance and bring forth forgotten memories from others. Even more, they can alter your memories if they are powerful enough to do so. Implement a completely false memory, destroy and or create.

Again, if well trained. Unfortunately half the Von population these days do not know how to do that. The majority could be exiled to the human world in which their bodies may all be possessed by the sins.

Azul clears his throat, “You want me to go back inside his body and retrieve his memories?”

"Can you?" Ilmari asked suspiciously, aware that half of their population wasn't trained to do so.

“Perfect,” Azul said sarcastically, ignoring Ilmari's absurd question. He knew all too well not to go there.

Ilmari snorted and quickly hid his smirk. “So.. Anyway, what’s going to be done about Cináed?”

"Give me time to recover. I'll go in."

Ilmari cleared his throat, “Uhh.. Yeah.. No. Sora, I don’t think we can afford another incident of you fainting and being sent to the healers again. It’ll bring suspicious eyes to you and me.”

My wolf surfaced, “The best option is ME. I’m more powerful than ever before, I can save Cináed.” I said with a booming voice that shook the floor momentarily.

I had made up my mind and nothing could convince me otherwise.

Azul folded his arms, “So we are risking this all over again. If you’re gone do you realize what this means?”

Space and time. One can exist without the other, if I'm put into eternal slumber, he'll be short of time to save all the guardians to get me back. My essence is a part of his and his is a part of mine.

Azul starts shaking his head while pacing back and forth, “No, no, no, NO!

“We either go in together or find an alternative.”

You don’t believe I’m capable?” I asked.

Sora you are more than capable. With us together we are beyond capable.”

We both were silent for some time till Ilmari deliberately coughed to draw back attention. I didn’t realize how close we got.

Azul stepped back.

-------------------------

Azul POV

This isn't how it wanted it to go. It’s been about 4,000 years and more. Now that she’s back to her original self. I am here fighting her instead of kissing her. I ran my hand through my hair and took a deep breath out.

“Sora.” My voice is low and tender. “Please, just think about this more carefully,” I begged.

She didn’t say anything at first. Sadness was written all over her face, as she got up from the bed and said with a cracked voice

“When did you stop believing in me?”

Just with a few words my heart tore, daunting me. A portal appeared and I watched her shift to her glorious wolf as she flared up her wispy gold wings, violently fanning the still air. The air now gains a slight movement, as if it had discovered its direction.

Content to follow Sora’s movement to wherever she wishes to meander. I was going to shift and follow her but Ilmari placed his hand on my chest to stop me.

“There’s a reason behind her determination, Azul. Find that and you’ll understand why she’s willing to do this on her own again.”

BUT I’M HER-…”

“You’re her what?”

“Never mind.. what do you want me to do with Ahanu? I barely talk to the guy so how can I approach him?”

Ilmari shrugs, “Demand for a duel.”

“What!”

“Listen, Ahanu is a high-ranking chief with a hell of a good record and you’re just a Von who happens to be the grandchild of an Elder. You have no status, with no status you can’t get close enough to him to retrieve his memories.”

“I thought he volunteered to help out?” I asked while rolling my eyes.

“I don’t trust him enough to give us the right details. He doesn’t know what’s at stake here, he could easily keep things from us for his good. I need you to duel him.”

“Ilmari you sound dumb.” Just when I was about to leave, he yelled.

“Are you gonna wait another lifetime to be with her? Oh wait, you did that already!”

I rushed closer to him, my face just inches away from his. “Keep pushing it, and I’ll make sure you regret ever talking to me that way!”

Ilmari’s eyes glowed an icy turquoise and stepped even closer. Whatever space that was left between us was now nonexistent.

Cosmos Azul Von-Kia. I believe that is your name, but why do I get the feeling you are losing your touch Cosmos? Uh?”

“Ilmarinen, I’m warning you.”

I could feel that he was shielding himself from me but he knew all too well that I could easily break that shield if I wanted to.

As I glared at his eyes I saw a reflection of mine. His eyes were now transparent like a mirror reflecting at me. I’m fully aware that my eyes’ full dilation of the pupils contributes to the overall appearance of them being completely black.

They dilate so much that they take up all of the space within the iris, but there was something newly discovered. The blackening spread, creating dark circles around my eyes and black veins popping out on my face reaching down to my cheeks.

I took back control from my wolf but my eyes did not change back to its original emerald colour. Not until a minute later which was unusual. I looked a lot like them.

Have you ever noticed that you become more violent when I mentioned you and Sora? It’s like nothing else matters to you, saving the guardians is the least of your worries. It’s saving Sora that’s your priority.”

I gave him a death glare, “are you suggesting I don’t care about you guys!”

“Not enough.” He shrugged and took a step away from me. “I found something interesting about you, you possess almost all the powers of elementa. Expect one. Do you care to know what that is?”

I should’ve shut him up when I had the chance. “Why would I care? You just said so yourself.”

He ignored my comment and started circling me.

“Water. Water elementa requires purity, Sora is powerful air and water elementa and that’s why when Ahanu tried to touch her previously he was unable to. The sins had control of one of the most powerful air elementa bodies in this world. So it was easy to go around touching others who weren’t equal to his ability but the moment he met Sora, and when her spirit wolf realized she was in this universe she instantly protected her from others who may try to hurt her physical body. I kept on thinking, why out of all people did she allow you?”

“What are you indicating Ilmari?”

“I’m saying you shouldn’t have been able to touch Sora either. Her wolf spirit was too weak to connect to her physical body and pass on the message that you were to be trusted. Even after they’ve connected, still, for odd reasons she doesn’t remember just how important the connection you have together is. BOUNDED, but that just slips her mind? So Azul or is it Cosmos now? Did you alter her memories and what exactly have you been hiding from us?”

I sneered, “Here I thought the guardian of water elementa, was the only one that knew it all.”

“He still is. I recently had one those adventures. When I went to visit the land of Oceania’s library and found out he left access to his dome of secrecy.”

“How nice of him,” I said sarcastically.

“Azul, answer the question.”

Don't trust him.

I shrugged and remained impassive, “Nothing.”

He gave me a scrutiny look. A gust of bleach-white icy wind began circling him. The large room temperature dropped, and the battering wind grew stronger and began to storm my direction like an arrow from a bow instead these were multiple sharp icicles. I conjure up a tall wall of blue flames in front of me.

Don’t be a fool Ilmari, you’ll only lose this fight.”

For now I’ll be discreet between our interactions but give me another reason to question your loyalty and I promise you that I will not die with this secret.” He threaten.

So he knows.

Instantaneously the wind stopped and only small snowflakes were left falling where Ilmari once stood.
