Desire for you - ALPHA ILAY

Chapter 22

ILAY

Nael could be very nice, almost too nice... That wasn't good for a mafia boss. When I wanted to be in that position, my father was against it because he thought it would be better if I had a simple town under my command.

That was because I'm much more impulsive than Nael. Nael, on the other hand, has always kept a cool head and has never done anything rash to this day.

He was also looking for a fight.

His red eyes glared angrily at me. Nael had indeed changed, he had gained strength, especially since the loss of his mate had set him back for a while, now he was better than ever.

"What's wrong Nael, you're fighting with your brother over a slave?" I raised my eyebrows challengingly and surrounded him.

The punch he had given me in the pit of the stomach had really hit me.

"She's not a slave, you dog," he growled at me angrily.

"I don't know, after all, I picked her up on the slave market...". Tell me, Prince Nael, what do you want from a simple slave like her?" I walked towards him as he also walked towards me.

"I could ask you the same thing, Ilay. What did you have in mind when you took her? What? You're trying to replace your mate with someone who's one hundred percent like her, and the best part is, you're completely screwing it up by killing her mate!" Nael's hands slammed into my chest, sending me flying backwards.

"I didn't mean to hurt her, it was just an act of revenge to make him pay for what he did. I didn't expect Redington to call her to the courtroom," I ran at him and grabbed him by the neck while Nael squeezed mine too and we choked each other.

"You fucking liar, it was you who forced her to shoot and no one else!" Nael snorted angrily and only squeezed me tighter against his neck.

I almost lost my breath and rammed my knee into his stomach, forcing him to let go of me.

"I was beside myself with rage, why don't you understand when I tell you that I wasn't me at that moment!" I shouted at him and pushed him over the table with all my might, sending everything on it flying to the floor with him.

He quickly got up again and wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth "What do you want now Ilay? Cause trouble again? Wait for the right moment again until you lose control of yourself? How many times do you want this to happen? You've been leading us to our doom for a damn year now. Who do you think you are? Do you think just because you're riding a rollercoaster I'm going to let you have a completely innocent soul? Not this time Ilay! Get out or I'll kill you!" Nael shouted at me as he stormed towards me.

Before he could hit me, Delilah came running into the room with reinforcements.

When she saw the two of us beating the shit out of each other, she stopped in shock and suddenly screamed so loudly that it hurt my ears.

Not just mine, but Nael's too. Everyone in the room covered their ears. The window panes around us flew across the room in shards, leaving Nael's office a mess.

"STOP IT!" she shouted at us in her normal voice. Her eyes were wide open and bloodshot. Black veins were visible all over her face and we could even sense her mood.

We were all so shocked by the whole scenario that our mouths were open.

She stomped towards me angrily: "I don't belong to anyone but myself! Realise it at last!" she shouted again, and another wave of energy hit us and threw us all into the room, against the wall.

What the hell was going on here? I remembered Delilah's thoughts very well and what had happened to her. When they tried to rape her, that's exactly the kind of power that came out of her and blew up everyone present.

Nael stood up and slowly walked towards Delilah: "Delilah... Nothing and no one is going to take you away from here, let alone hurt you..." he said to her in a calm tone and held out his hand to her. "You need to calm down before you kill us all..." he repeated.

Churchill's eyes literally pierced me, but he didn't dare say anything to me. Apparently he wasn't very pleased to see me either.

Delilah looked lost and stared into space for a while. When she closed her eyes and opened them again, they had regained their natural blue colour and the black veins that had been visible on her face had disappeared.

Her breath caught and less than two seconds later she fell unconscious into Nael's arms.

"This is what happens when you show up anywhere Ilay, DAMN IT!", Nael shouted at me, looking up at me angrily as he picked Delilah up in his arms and carried her away.

Churchill still said nothing when I suddenly saw him and the other men bowing.

"What the hell is going on, Ilay?" my father said, coming running over.

Nael must have kept him in the loop, because that was the only way he could have found out about my visit.

His brown eyes stared at me, from the look on his face he was anything but pleased to see me in this state.

"Nael and I had an argument, nothing unusual, which can happen between two brothers," I said, shrugging my shoulders and wiping the blood from my face.

"An argument? Are you crazy, Ilay? I've seen a lot, but I've never seen anything like this from my sons and I never will again. Have I made myself clear?" he half shouted at me.

I took my father's words lightly and was more unimpressed than shocked.

"I really can't believe you're making such a fuss in front of all the staff. You're supposed to be a role model, not the opposite," he snapped at me, looking over at Churchill and the others, "You can go now," he said to them and turned back to me.

When everyone had left, he continued with his sermon: "Explain to me what you're trying to do? With your behaviour," he said to me and sat down on the armchair.

I sat down opposite him and couldn't help but smile: "What am I trying to achieve?" I leaned forward and looked at him, "I don't know what you mean by that, father."

"Listen Ilay... You had a fucking order and you didn't even follow it. You were told to go to the black market and find out how the trade works. And what did you do? You set the whole market on fire and made sure that all the information we had up to that point was destroyed. To top it all off, you killed one of the traders by cutting out his tongue and setting the house on fire," he snorted angrily, only to continue.

"Then you went to court and carried out an execution. Do you think I wouldn't have noticed if the judge came to my office and told me that his son had been EXECUTED?" He looked at me angrily and was about to explode.

I couldn't help but grin "The bastard deserved it..." I winked at my father "The fact that Delilah was involved in the whole thing was all Redington's fault. In my opinion, his son had done something forbidden and he should pay for it."

My father was very politically correct. He wanted everything to be above board. If it had been up to me, I would have gone about this in a different way. At least then the demons wouldn't have so much freedom.

He shook his head: "I don't know what to do with you, Ilay. This is the last warning I'll give you. If anything comes to my attention again, I will banish you. Do you understand what's at stake?"

I raised my eyebrows in astonishment and sighed: "How many times are you going to tell me that? The answer is always the same. Do it. I beg you, banish me and deliver me from this. I only agreed to all this for Catherine's sake. I couldn't exist because of me, it would make life easier for all of you." I smiled at him and ran my fingers through my hair.

By now I didn't care. I could be dead because of me, nothing had value or meaning to me anymore.

"Oh no, I'm not going to let you die that quickly, you bastard," Nael said and came running towards me. "How dare you?" he hissed at me angrily.

"Sending you into exile would be a blessing for you, I won't allow it by any stretch of the imagination. I expect a decent, sincere apology and until you can say it, you're not going anywhere," he said angrily, glaring at my father.

"Nael's right," he finally said and I rolled my eyes.

Nael was always right... Nael was the more sensible, the clearer-thinking brother. Why should he never be right?

"You have to come to your senses Ilay, it's no good if you just cause chaos for years," my father finally said and sighed.

"Who knows, maybe I'll cause more chaos anyway, since you won't even banish me," I winked at Nael and smiled contentedly.

Well Nael, if you don't want to do me this favour, then I won't either. I won't leave you and Delilah alone.

"Ilay..." my father admonished me. "I will lock you up if you do something you shouldn't do, and I mean it," he warned me and I rolled my eyes.

"The sermon got through, I got your message to me," I muttered to myself, annoyed and feeling like a schoolboy who needed to be lectured.

Nael shook his head in bewilderment and gave me an angry look.

"What do you want to hear from me Nael, you've only got yourself to blame because you're always meddling in things that don't concern you," I was just as annoyed as Nael.

"You still don't get it, do you? You made her break down in the middle of the room. Do you even see what YOU did here?" Nael gesticulated across the room with his hands and rubbed his temples.

"Get lost..." he muttered to himself and looked at my father, "next time I'll rip his head off," he said to him and stomped off angrily.
