Chapter 30: My Brother, The Whiny Bitch!
Adam Wick.
Cold, refreshing water cascaded down my back. I intended to take a hot shower after my sparring match with Tyson, but after Nathan’s wicked stunt, I had to cool down before I mounted his sweet ass. Although, after ten minutes of drenching my ‘little problem’ in cold water, he still stood up loud and proud. All he needed was a flag.
That kiss! I smirked while touching my swollen lips. Talk about taking the bull by the horns. I never thought Nathan had it in him.
“Disappointed? ” Bane chuckled.
“Hell no! “I’m just surprised.” I told him while lathering up my body with a dollop of body soap and a loofa mitten. ”It would have been better if he joined us in the shower and took care of the problem he caused.” I glanced down and groaned.
“Well, you can’t waste time hoping for a miracle, now can you? So, get your hand down there and get busy. We can’t keep Nathan waiting.”
“Fine...”I wrapped my hand around the problem and got down to business.

After a useless cold shower and a mandatory petting session, I walked out of the men’s restroom. I couldn’t be happier. Nathan finally said yes, and I was going to have to come up with a stellar date to win him over and make him mine. It would not be easy: he was jumpier than a buck in hunting season. I sauntered over to where Maisie, Nathan, and Tyson stood. But just as I came in earshot my blood boiled when Riley said;
“Fuck off, you freak! Do you think I want to spend even one minute with you?” Riley strutted up to Nathan until their noses nearly touched. “The only reason I tolerate you is because if I don’t, my father will yell my ears off for being a prick.”
“Riley, shut up and get over yourself. He’s our brother and there’s nothing you can do about it,” Maisie told him while wrapping her arm around Nathan’s arm in support. She grasped onto his hand and gently stroked circles on the back of his hand.
It was clear to all present that Nathan was holding back his wolf. The strain that crept across his face, accompanied by his clenched jaw, spoke volumes that Riley was playing with a loaded rifle.
“What’s wrong with the little shit?” Bane growled, pacing back and forth. ”He’s even pissing me off.”
“I agree. He should keep his mouth shut about Nathan. I won’t tolerate his shitty attitude.”
I rushed forward before Nathan bitch-slapped Riley to the ground. He was oblivious to the overpowering aura spiking out of Nathan’s body. Nathan was still a Grayback and had the powers of a warlock. Shit, only Riley was crazy enough to piss off that combination.
“Enough!” I shouted at Riley, using my alpha voice. “Shut your mouth, Riley.”
The mirrors rattled at the strength of my voice. All the pack members present lowered their heads and showed their necks to me. The dumb shit had no choice but to choke on his poisonous words. But the thing that stopped me in my tracks was the way Nathan reacted to my voice. He didn’t submit to me like the others did, and I didn’t expect him to. He was still a rogue. However, he shivered and moaned under his breath while licking his lips. He stared at me with dilated pupils.
“Well, that’s new,” Bane said as he perked up. ”Is he aroused?”
I chuckled at the thought that my voice could elicit such a thrill out of him. It would seem so. I was definitely planning to use it on him in more intimate settings.
I turned to Riley. “What the fuck is wrong with you?” I shoved him back down onto the bleachers. “Stop acting like a spoiled brat for once in your life.”
Riley huffed and pushed off the bleachers, shooting daggers toward Nathan. He couldn’t look me in the eye without suffering the consequences. Bane would easily slap his ass in its proper place.
“I don’t need a lecture from you, Alpha,” Riley sneered. “You’re just shoving your face into our affairs because you want to shove your dick up his ass.” He smirked while nudging his head in Nathan’s direction.
Before I could push him back, Bane took over and grabbed Riley by the throat. “Say that again. I dare you.” Bane growled. The pack members who sat on the bleachers scrambled for the doors. “You forget who you’re talking to.”
Riley turned the color purple each second Bane squeezed tighter.
“Bane, that’s enough. Let my brother go,” Nathan said calmly. He slid his hand into my free hand and squeezed lightly. A gorgeous smile appeared on his face, dispelling the anger raging inside of us.
Bane immediately drew back and retreated into my mind. I let go of Riley’s neck.
The irritating dipshit collapsed to his feet. “Are you crazy! You could have killed me.” Riley croaked out, rubbing his bruised neck.
Maisie rushed forward and punched him in the face. “Adam told you to shut it.” Riley fell back onto the bleacher, crying out in pain. “You’ve done enough. Nathan did nothing to you other than to invite you to dinner.”
“I don’t give a shit!” Riley spat. “I want nothing to do with this mistake.” He pointed at Nathan.” Hell, even his grandfather wants him dead.”
Oh shit!

Nathan Underhill.
I snapped.
In an instant, my hands found the same neck to choke. A devastating anger ripped through my veins. How fucking dare he call me a mistake! I wasn’t! It wasn’t my fault I was born or that my grandfather couldn’t let go of his arrogance and accept me. I tightened my hold around his neck. Riley’s eyes bulged; fear flashed across his face.
Riley punched me in the face to get me off him, but I barely registered any sort of pain. Seconds later, multiple hands tried to yank my fingers loose from Riley’s throat. Their yells and protests echoed inside of my head. I couldn’t give a fuck, so I ignored them. Releasing one hand from Riley’s neck, I cast a spell. Maisie, Tyson, and Adam, who were busy trying to separate us, flew backward and landed on their asses.
“Stay out of this,” I hissed at them.
With one hand still attached to my little brother’s scrawny neck, I yanked him sideways. With all the power in my arm, I threw him across the gym floor until he crashed into one of the mirrors with a sickening crunch. He yelled out. A piece of mirror had lodged itself in his leg.
Riley grabbed onto the shard and yanked it out. “You’ll pay for that!” He shouted, getting down on all fours and started shifting into his werewolf form.
“Dumbass!” Fenrus snickered. ”Does he really think he stands a chance against us?”
I chuckled, following Riley’s lead. ”Let’s teach my little brother a lesson in humility.”
My bones started shifting under my skin, followed up by dozens of painful snaps of my bones. Before long, I stood on four furry legs. Riley’s wolf snarled at me. He nearly had the same color of fur as me, but was just muddier.
“Ha! Ha! Ha! Look at Mr. Tiny, trying to snap his jaw at someone who’s twice his size.”
“Don’t get cocky, Fenrus,” I said. “He’s going to be faster on his legs than us.”
Fenrus huffed, snapping back at Riley. ”It may be... but we only need to get our claws into him and then he’ll be in a world of hurt. He’s going to choke on his fucking words.”
Just as I lowered my stand to storm Riley into oblivion, Maisie ran up to the little shit.
“Are you crazy, Riley? Look at him.” Maisie pointed at me. “Do you think for one moment you stand a chance against him? Swallow your pride and apologize—”
Instead of pulling Riley back to his senses, her words sent him into a frenzy. He lunged forward, snapped at her to back off, and then lunged at me. His jaws were aimed at my shoulder. Stupid mutt. In a swift movement, I dodged his overt attack and with my right paw, slapped him across his snout. He stumbled into a rack of dumbbells. With a yelp and the clatter of dumbbells falling to the ground, we all flinched as two weights fell onto Riley’s left paw. Shit! That must have hurt. Taking hold of his distractive state, I lunged at Riley and clamped down onto his right shoulder, and slammed him to the ground. Before Riley could recover, I aimed for his throat and bit down.
“Give up, Riley!” I used my mind and forced open a link to his mind, which was easy. Scatterbrain.
“What the fuck are you doing in my mind?” Riley tried to force close the link, but I had better control and kept it open. ”Get the fuck out, you freak!”
“What’s your problem? What have I ever done to you?” I asked him while biting down onto his neck and pushing my body’s weight down on him. He wasn’t going anywhere.
“I don’t have to tell you anything! So get the fuck off me and out of my life!” Riley growled, while trying to wiggle his body out from underneath me.
I shook my head, making Riley yelp out in pain. ”You’re not going anywhere—”
A thunderous roar burst into the room, followed by a massive object slamming into my body. I flew across the room, hitting the bleachers. Fuck that hurt! Glancing at the newcomer, my body froze. Fuck me! It was the Alpha, in all of his stupidity.
The Alpha shifted into his human form. My father ran up to him and threw him a pair of shorts, which he quickly used. He glared at Riley, who had already shifted back to his human form and was whining like a bitch in front of our father. Then the Alpha turned his furious gaze onto me.
“Who the hell do you think you are attacking one of my pack members?” Mr. Wick yelled. He strutted up to me and punched me across the muzzle. I stumbled backward with a whine, shaking off the pain.
Adam came running up to his father and yelled, “It wasn’t Nathan’s fault! Riley started the mess!”
“I don’t care! He attacked one of my pack members. I should rip his throat out for such an offence.”
Adam huffed and then slammed his fist into his father’s chest. “I will not allow dad to target Nathan for Riley’s childishness.” His defiance caused the entire gym to drop into silence.
His father walked up to him and said, “Are you challenging me, boy?”
Adam’s features hardened. He puffed out his chest and met his father’s eyes. “Yes.”
I couldn’t allow them to kill each other for my mistake. He wasn’t the one who went on a rampage; it was me. I shifted back into my human form and snapped my finger. My shredded clothes that lay scattered across the gym’s floor turned into smoke and flowed over my body, morphing back into the outfit I wore earlier.
“Adam. Don’t make things worse on my behalf. I should have handled the situation better,” I said, glancing back at my father while he took care of Riley’s injuries.
Adam shot a last glare at his father before walking over to me. He pulled me into his embrace and whispered, “Don’t worry your handsome face into early retirement. My father’s got a chip on his shoulder and likes to take it out on easy targets.”
I pulled away and mumbled, “I’m not an easy target.”
“I didn’t mean you’re weak. I’m just saying that my father likes to place blame on a convenient scapegoat. That’s you. You are a Grayback and a Rogue, so it’s easy to blame you for everything.”
Adam’s father scoffed before walking off. No doubt Adam stepped on his father’s tail on that one.
“He hates me, doesn’t he?” I turned to Adam.
“No, he doesn’t. He’s an ass most of the time, but he’s only looking out for the pack. As long as you’re a Grayback and a Rogue, he’ll treat you as a threat.”
I groaned and walked over toward my sister. She was busy chewing Riley’s ears off while my father was still tending to him.
“...you asked for it! So don’t act as if it’s his fault. Grow up!” Maisie slapped Riley on the back of the head before dragging Tyson off toward the exit.
As I was about to talk to my father, Riley jumped to his feet, sliced me with a glare before limping out of the gym.
My father rose to his feet and muttered under his breath, “What am I going to do with him?” We all stared at Riley’s back before he disappeared out of sight.
Why couldn’t my life be simpler?
