Defeating My Ex-Husband by Tracy Estrada ( Colton Zeller )

Chapter 59

Chapter 59 Help Me Persuade Him

“Are you all right? Why did you leave so suddenly?” Yoel’s voice tinged with anxiety rang out. Hearing that, Cynthia felt that the bite mark on her collarbone hurt even more.

She unconsciously traced her finger along her collarbone. “I met Colton and had a brief argument with him before leaving.”

On the other end of the phone, Yoel immediately became anxious. “He didn’t do anything to you, did he? Do you want me to teach him a lesson?”

“No need.” Not wanting to complicate matters, Cynthia didn’t tell him about the things that Colton had done to her. “He seems to have intentions of targeting Zabielski Group. It’s best to ask Mr. Zabielski to be

cautious.”

Yoel’s expression suddenly turned cold.

If Colton were to launch an attack on Zabielski Group right now, his father might really reconsider their relationship, especially with Lynda watching closely from the sidelines.

“I understand, don’t worry,” Yoel replied in a deep voice.

Cynthia nodded. “If there’s anything you need my help with, just let me know anytime.”

Hearing her serious tone, Yoel laughed. “Zabielski Group can certainly handle a little threat like this. Don’t worry.”

After ending the call, Yoel gradually let go of his smile and furrowed his brows as he drove back to the Zabielski residence.

As he walked into the mansion, Yoel caught sight of Fergus nestled in

Anna’s arms. They were engaged in lively conversation that elicited occasional bursts of laughter from her.

Sensing Yoel’s gaze, Anna froze momentarily, then smiled warmly and called. “Yoel, you’re back! Come join us in watching TV.”

Facing his son. Yoel experienced a whirlwind of emotions within. After careful consideration, he made the decision to decline the invitation. “You all go ahead and enjoy the show. I have something important to discuss with your Dad.”

Anna’s face showed a moment of surprise, and she quickly comforted Fergus. “Your dad is just busy with something. He’ll come to see you soon.

Fergus responded in the affirmative hesitantly, concealing the emotions in his eyes.

On the second day, Anna went to Cynthia.

“I noticed you seem to have lost some weight. Have you been too busy lately?” Anna said with a warm smile, handing the thermos to Cynthia. “I made this soup for you. You need more nourishment.”

Cynthia quickly took the soup and said. “I just look a bit thinner. Mrs. Zabielski, there’s no need to worry.”

Anna suddenly took her hand. With a hint of apology in her voice, she said. “Over the past few years. I’ve come to realize that Yoel truly loves you. He even gave up all those past relationships for you. But Fergus is, after all, his biological son. He had already accepted Lukas and Luna.”

Cynthia’s smile gradually froze on her face.

“I realize it was not fair of me to ask you to intervene, but I fear that your words are the only ones he will heed at this point, Anna admitted earnestly to Cynthia. “Rest assured, we have already secured the services

of the best lawyer to handle this situation, so Lynda’s actions won’t have any negative impact on you both.”

Reflecting on the care Anna had shown toward Lukas, Luna, and herself since their initial encounter, Cynthia suppressed the impulse to withdraw her hand.

Left with no choice, she responded to Anna, saying, “I will make an effort to persuade him, but I cannot guarantee his final decision. It ultimately lies within his hands.”

Anna nodded profusely. “Your advice will work better than our advice. He will definitely listen to you.”

Cynthia forced out a smile.

Perhaps noticing that something was off with her emotions, Anna didn’t stay long. After reminding Cynthia to finish her soup, she took her leave.

After she left, Cynthia stared at the soup for a long time until Marcus came in to sign some documents. “Are you okay?”

Cynthia finally snapped back to reality and forced a smile. “It’s nothing. What’s up?”

Marcus seemed stumped. “I have just been informed by Zeller Group that there seems to be an issue with the contract details we recently finalized. They are requesting a discussion to address the matter again.”

Cynthia’s face immediately darkened. “They want another revision?”

The contract itself had undergone numerous revisions, not to mention the collaboration and construction plans. Cynthia understood very well that Colton had an ulterior motive.

“Let Mr. Doyle talk to them, and if Zeller Group is unwilling, then give up

on the collaboration,” Cynthia said solemnly.

Marcus was taken aback. “Give up? But we’ve invested so much time and resources into this project. Just getting Angel’s design alone was”

Giving up on the collaboration meant the company would face massive losses.

Cynthia, on the other hand, remained remarkably composed. “Unless Colton has lost his mind, he won’t abandon our collaboration at this crucial juncture. If we don’t assert ourselves, we will always be at the mercy of Zeller Group.”

Marcus’s countenance grew serious, and he nodded in acknowledgment. “I see. Lately, it appears that Ms. Lacey has expressed some grievances. concerning you,” he revealed.

someone to monitor her activities. Lacey has made considerable sacrifices recently, so it’s inevitable that she’s feeling frustrated and wants to stir up trouble.”

Once the information was leaked, as anticipated, Lacey succumbed to temptation and purchased the pink emerald for their third uncle, Felix Shelley.

Felix was instantly enamored with the gem and couldn’t resist exploring other emeralds as well. When Anthony learned of this development, he summoned Lacey and reprimanded her severely, imposing a strict three- year deadline as a consequence.

In the event that Lacey failed to surpass Cynthia’s achievements within the given three–year timeframe, the rightful position of the group’s heiress would be bestowed upon Cynthia.

Upon hearing this news, Lacey was furious, but she couldn’t change

Anthony’s mind. All she could do was to take out her anger on Cynthia

Marcus was also aware of the dispute between Cynthia and Lacey. He quickly agreed to carry out her order. “I’ll get that done.

After Cynthia arranged the necessary affairs, Marcus finally left her office.

Cynthia glanced at the soup on the table. In the end, she decided to give Yoel a call.

After receiving Cynthia’s response, Colton showed no surprise at her decision. In fact, he was quite surprised to learn that she could endure his actions until now.

“Let Mr. Lowe handle the negotiations with Fashn Group. If necessary, we can transfer the design rights to them.”

As Cynthia expected, Colton readily agreed to her request and even took the initiative to compromise even further on his part.

“Okay,” Timothy agreed without hesitation. After a brief pause, he asked, “What about Prof. Wallund?”

“His design is indeed inferior to Angel’s. Just reject it outright.” A hint of mockery flashed in Colton’s eyes as he had specifically gone to see Angel’s design. “Angel’s flair would add quite a bit of charm to our project.”

Recalling the last dispute he had with Cynthia, Colton just smiled without saying a word..

As soon as Timothy opened the door, he saw the receptionist approaching him behind Elsa.

“Mr. Zimmerman…” The receptionist hesitated, unsure of how to proceed. Timothy glanced at Colton and noticed his composed expression. With that assurance, Timothy signaled the receptionist to allow the woman to
