Dark Indiscretions

Chapter 15

“Like a phoenix, he has risen from the ashes to collect that which he believes is his. Death and destruction follow in his wake. He will not stop until he has what he has come for. He watches your every move. It took him years to find you, and he doesn’t plan to let you out of his sight again. Even now he sees. He will kill all whom you hold dear. No one is safe from his wrath. Everyone you’ve been with for blood and sex since he found you has died. Your uncle wants you home where you belong. We see no way to kill him. Your future is uncertain and so is that of your mates. Only together can you possibly beat him. Keep Krista close.”

Jenny’s heartbeat triple timed as the twins spoke their vision in unison. This did not bode well. She had killed her uncle centuries ago. How was it that he still lived? She turned the question over in her mind and waited for the answer.

“Like a phoenix he has risen from the ashes,” the twins replied together.

What the hell was with the fucking riddles? She didn’t have time for this.... Oh crap! Like a phoenix; resurrection. Outstanding. As if she didn’t have enough to worry about, James had the power to self-heal from anything. She was going to need a stronger spell and some power herbs to keep him down this time. Maybe a life-force spell. She needed to talk to Krista as soon as the vision was over.

“Darkness is coming for all of us. No one is safe. Ward your house and stay inside until you know the way to kill him. It will not be an easy task and damage will be done. You must bond with those meant to complete you if you have any chance to permanently kill your uncle. Remember he watches all the time, and he will take out those he believes are in his way. Even his own daughter.” The twins’ vision was interrupted by a loud bang that shook their house.

“You must leave this place at once. Your lives are all in danger. We can be of no more help. The ward won’t hold him. You must teleport from here. You can’t go outside. Go to the rest of your group and get away now!” the twins exclaimed.

Jenny got up as quickly as she could out of her dazed state. “Krista, we must teleport to my house. I will explain the vision when I get there. He’s here. My uncle is here and he wants me,” Jenny explained.

“JENNIFER! COME OUT NOW AND NO ONE ELSE WILL DIE,” James yelled from outside.

“Go, we will try to delay him as much as we can. Don’t forget to ward the house as soon as your feet touch down from the teleportation,” Angeline and Fatima said.

As Jennifer and Krista teleported everyone out, James broke through the twin’s door. “My, my, my, what do we have here? A midday snack perhaps,” James taunted.

“We are not afraid of you. We see all and we know all. Today is not the day we die,” they replied.

“You don’t say. You aren’t stronger or faster than me, so what makes you think I can’t kill either of you, or maybe just one?”

“We don’t entertain ignorance. Leave this place. You aren’t welcome here. Jenny will find a way to remove you permanently from this world.” With those final words the twins banished James from their house with a powerful spell. He flew out of the door, and they placed stronger wards.

“Those little bitches. If I didn’t have better things to do, I would tear them limb from limb. I must find Jennifer; it’s time she came home with me. No one will stand in my way.”

Once they had teleported safely to her townhouse, Jenny still couldn’t calm down. Her uncle was alive. It shouldn’t have been possible. How did she not know he couldn’t be killed? Things were getting out of hand. “Krista, quickly, we must set the wards. Afterward, I will tell everyone what the twins said.”

Jenny and Krista sat about the house chanting and warding the place. Jenny didn’t know if the wards would even work. She hoped there was time to explain the madness that was her life. She also needed to talk to Jackson and Taylor. She hoped they agreed to bond with her or they all might just die. That wasn’t a good reason but she hoped it got them started. She had waited years for this and they hated her. It wasn’t supposed to be like this. It was supposed to be a happy time. A celebrated time.

“Jennifer, we need to talk. Now!” Jackson barked out of nowhere.

“I need to set the wards. They will keep us safe until I can think of what else to do,” Jenny said.

“We aren’t staying here. Taylor and I have a home. We want no part of whatever the hell this is.”

Taylor listened to the conversation with thinned lips. He wanted to say something, but he knew Jackson wouldn’t listen right now. He was not in a good mood. He didn’t like drama and their other mate had it written all over her. He knew Jackson was trying to keep them safe, but that included Jenny, too. She was theirs, whether they wanted it or not.

“Um, okay,” Jenny said. “What about me? Are you just going to pretend like I don’t exist? I know things are crazy right now, but we are still mates. You can’t just leave. I know you didn’t ask for all the trouble, but this is my life right now.”

“Yes, your life. NOT ours. Tay and I were doing just fine before you, and we will be fine after.”

“Why you son of a...”

Before Jenny could finish her sentence Taz jumped in between them. “Are you guys really going to do this right now? A mad man is on the loose. He wants Jennifer and will stop at nothing to get her. Are you really just going to stand idly by and let him have your mate, Jackson? I thought you were a better man.”

“I’m not standing by. I’m trying to get my mate as far away from this place as possible. Mystics are vile, evil creatures, and Taylor and I will be no part of it. End of fucking discussion.”

Jenny was livid. Just who in the hell did he think he was? It was about time Jackson Dawls was put in his place.
