Curse of the Moon Goddess

Chapter Alpha Master Command

I couldn’t think enough swear words in my head to cover the panic I felt as my wolf went flying straight towards Sage. Even my wolf started swearing which I had no idea was possible. I guess no matter how many lifetimes you live, you can always learn something new.

I had to think fast, not about the swearing wolf in my head. I decided to do the only thing I could. I shifted.

But, so did she.

She had seen me coming and had shifted into her human form out of panic. She was still so new to the whole shifting thing she couldn’t hold her wolf. Our bodies collided and we were sent rolling a few yards. Thankfully, I landed on top as Sage was completely unconscious.

I knew she would be mortified to know she was exposed like this to everyone. I quickly rolled her onto her back, hoping it would be enough for now.

I sensed the final wolf approaching quickly. I was furious that I had broken my promise from earlier, even if it was on accident, and I was tired of these wolves.

As I turned to face the approaching wolf, I shifted back into my wolf self. There was no mercy left inside of me and for the first time in decades, I released my true wolf.

There was a reason I was called the Blood Alpha. My wolf, when he was fully released, was ruthless. Even our eyes turned the color of dried blood and all who opposed us fled. The poor rogue standing before us was the first one to see those eyes in a long time. Just like everyone else who has seen them, he didn’t live long enough to tell about them. In one swift movement his head was cleanly severed and was now rolling a few feet away.

I double checked that everyone was dead, then headed for a piece of cloth I had noticed earlier. I swiftly pulled on my pair of pants, not bothering with the shirt, and went to wrap Sage in the fabric. I’m pretty sure it was someone’s bedsheet. I’ll have to repay them later.

I picked her up in an attempt to carry her back to the Pack House. However, someone dared get in my way.

“Hand her over,” Lukas snarled at me.

I was not in the mood for his overprotectiveness right now. Neither was I in the mood to argue with him. So, I did something I had learned to do a few centuries ago.

Normally alphas can’t command other alphas. But I had learned a trick from a crazy vampire. I had never had to use it before, but my patience with everyone and everything was gone. In that voice I said, “Lukas, back off.”

His eyes went wide as his body moved without consent. I could sense everyone becoming uncomfortable by the scene and seeing another alpha be commanded. I didn’t care. I couldn’t waste another second, so I raced back to the Pack House, telepathically informing the doctor to meet us there.

Once there, I broke down the door making a mental note to fix it later and made my way straight to the couch.

Once I’d laid her down as gently as I could, I stepped aside so the doctor could do his work.

Eventually, Ian, Lukas, and Venessa showed back up. Each of them wore a serious expression and I knew they had been talking.

Ian seemed to be the only one brave enough to speak up as he said, “Alpha, we need to talk.”
