Crash-landed On An Island With Nine Beauties

Chapter 99

"Isn't that Damien?"

Ayisha swallowed, straining her eyes. No matter how hard she tried to cajole her eyes to zoom in on the important scene, she was disappointed. Over and over again. But she wouldn't give up. Her instinct kept telling her to wait there and observe closely.

She moved closer towards the ocean. When she was close enough, she couldn't go any further. A wave of the water almost touched her legs, but she flinched. She had phobia of water. Especially big waters like the ocean. 1

But she took the risk to allow a tip of the wave tease her soles.

"That must be him. I'm sure that it is him. Even though it's not so clear, I know what his body frame looks like."

She wasn't ready to dismiss the thoughts yet.

"But what happened to him, did he fall? Did he collapse?"

From her eyes, you'd tell that if she had her way, she would swim through the ocean to go feed her heart, but the courage wasn't there. Even though the heart was persistent.

"Woah..."

She ran away from the water when a heavy wave was hurled at her. The curious heart couldn't withstand that terror.

"That scared me."

She was several steps away from the last-seen of the ocean. A sort of doubt was beginning to form in her heart and she couldn't help but nurse it. "Or maybe he is not the one."

She swallowed again, looking across the long body of blue water. She puffed a wave of warm air.

"If he's not the one, then who is it? Could it be that there is someone else living on that island? This is really strange and scary."

There was a certain urgency which swept across her face. It seemed as though she was seeking a particular answer to her unasked questions.

"What if he changed his mind and comes to this island? What happens then? How are we going to defend ourselves? With crossbows? Think of formation and hunt him down?"

She shook her head slowly, she wasn't sure whether or not that made any sense. She took in a deep breath.

"No, that must be Damien. I can tell. I feel it. It must be him. And I must figure it out. I must get to the root of this. I'll give it whatever it takes. Evelyn could be right all along. Like Claire." "What can you feel?"

A sudden feminine voice came from behind her and she turned. At first, she saw Laurette, then from behind her walked out Claire and Evelyn.

"Huh?"

She was surprised to see them. For all she could remember, she didn't tell them that she was coming here.

"It's nothing. Let's get back."

She dismissed and made to walk away, but Claire walked into her way, obstructing.

"It's either I shove you in that water or you tell us what you just discovered."

Ayisha chuckled wryly at Claire's threat. Claire's tiny eyebrows were cocked.

"You think this is a joke huh? I'll give you three seconds to come to a conclusion. And while trying to choose a response, don't forget your phobia of the ocean."

Claire moved closer to her. As she did, Ayisha took steps back. Ayisha would occasionally look at her back. She knew she couldn't keep going back. At a point, she would have to come to a decision.

Suddenly she looked back at Claire, a smirk danced across the corners of her mouth and then she moved sideways, so smoothly. She grabbed Claire by the left arm and hurled her to the side. Claire fell on he side, groaning.

"You crazy bitch!!!"

Claire groaned, trying to sit up.

"Ow, that hurts."

"Why did you have to do that?"

Laurette lashed out at Ayisha who scarcely was looking at any of them.

"What would you do if someone was threatening you with your phobia? How did you feel when Damien put bugs all over you?"

Laurette couldn't defend her points anymore. Ayisha seemed to had won that round?

"Don't get ahead of yourselves. We'll do it my way for now. I don't want to mislead you, nor put fear in you. It's up to you make whatever meaning out of it."

She turned and stomped off.

"That wench!!!"

Claire yelled, standing on her feet. Laurette couldn't keep staring at Ayisha for long. She looked away, hardly resting a glance on Claire.

Her attention had been picked by the ocean. She walked closer and closer towards it. Her right sole kissed the waves, then followed the other one. She kept on going. "Laurette! What are you doing?"

Evelyn was alarmed. Her eyes bulging at her sockets in a wild fear. Evelyn ran to Claire and grabbed her arm, shaking it,

"Claire please do something, Laurette wants to commit suicide. Please do something."

Her eyes were becoming teary. Claire's eyes which had rage in them suddenly switched to frustration. She flung Evelyn away, fighting her arms free.

"It'll only cut the cost. Why should I get in the way of nature?"

Claire dismissed and turned to walk away. Then she hesitated and called on top of her voice,

"Commit suicide, Laurette. You have been a nuisance after all."

Claire walked away, hurrying into the woods.

"Claire... Claire please."

Evelyn's voice was beginning to break. When she noticed that Claire didn't give two fucks about her cries, she turned to the ocean.

"No, please Laurette, it's a bad idea. Please think of Mira."

The first tear dropped from her beautiful eyes. She took the risk of walking closer to the waves of the ocean.

Laurette on the other hand didn't for once break her eye contact with the length of the beautiful water. Suddenly, she went down in the water, dropping on her knees. Then pushed her head into the water, allowing the cozy water to gobble her up. Submerged.

"No!!!!!!"

Evelyn ran towards the ocean, her eyes tearing up. She was crying so loudly and heavily.

"Damien... Damien...!!!"

She would call, crying and crying as she tried to fight her way through the waves. She tripped and fell, saoking her cloth, but got back up again.

Point in time, Laurette pushed her head from the water and sighed out loudly.

"Oh wow... what a great feeling. Is this what it feels like bathing in an open ocean?"

Then she heard sniffles behind her and turned. Evelyn looked pale. Her eyes were heavy. She was sniffling.

"Aww, Evelyn. Poor baby. Why were you crying? I wouldn't commit suicide. You sweet soul, I never thought that anyone else loved me."

Evelyn's teary face folded into a grotesque glare, ruining her delicate face. She turned away from Laurette and hurried out of the water. "Evelyn... Evelyn. Wait, I'm sorry."

Laurette called, climbing out of the water too. As soon as Evelyn was out of the water, she started to run towards the jungle, crying. "Evelyn... I'm so sorry. It was a prank."

Neither did Evelyn stop running nor crying. Laurette did all she could to catch up with the TEARY PRINCESS.

The glory and strength of the sun in the sky was beginning to dwindle. The former yellow and strong rays had diminished into orange and weak. The rays could hardly make a scene in the endless blue sky, so it resorted to splattering orange smears across the clear pitch of fogs.

The rhythm of the ocean waves could match with the distant birds calling from over the horizon. It was quite a strange view to behold.

A body laying by the shore had a constant hits from the waves. You would think that the waves have had a crush on the body all their lives and could do nothing about it but hit on him.

The body moved slowly when a pain tickled between a space in his toes. Then the eyes aided the effort of the toes which were beginning to move of its own accord in tune to the pain.

The vision of his eyes were blurry at first but when it greeted the orange rays which was the first thing it caught, the mind connected.

He sat up at once and looked around him. Slowly he began to recall what happened.

"Why did I lay here all day long? From morning till evening. What happened? The super power wouldn't had done that to me."

He jumped on his feet. There was no pain whatsoever in his body. You could say that the first pain was a nudge to consciousness?

But suddenly, his stomach grumbled. He knew what that means.

"I'm hungry as fuck!"

He announced even though he knew that saying the words would do nothing about it.

He looked around him. Ocean to his left, frozen island to the right.

"Such a hellhole."

He grunted and flipped the system window out. He opened the system store and brought the necessary tool.

Instead of bringing a line or hook, he brought out a sickle.

He walked away from the ocean for while then stood at a particular point. He turned to face the ocean.

He arced his arms like a track star would do.

"To hunt a bigger fish, I'll have to go to the deeper part of the ocean."

He said those words like there were his watchword. At once, he threw one of his limbs forward which was followed by the other in a thoughtful run.

When he was close enough to the ocean, he made a leap for it. Into the ocean he dived.
