Crash-landed On An Island With Nine Beauties

Chapter 54

"Let's see whether she would really want me dead or would admit her feelings for me."

Damien thought out loud. He was walking through the woods in the direction of the pond where he'd caught fish the other day.

"I don't think she would admit to the feelings. She's such a crazy girl. Plus she is the daughter of one of the richest men in the world. She got to have everything she wanted." He chuckled wryly. He couldn't believe himself. How could he be thinking that way.

"That will all change when I leave this place. I must become one of the richest men, if not the richest."

He paused.

"My first goal after leaving this island, would be becoming richer than her father. If I'm able do that, then I'd be controlling not only Las Vegas but 2/3 of the states."

The thought alone send strange ripples down his spines. The more he thought of it, the more he realized that he had a long way to go. He needed to find a way to stack all the bar and statues of gold away in the system store or find the usefulness of the system ge--

There was a sudden movement in the woods, behind him. He flipped out the window system. With the help of jungle Wits, he was able to know who was there.

DON'T BE A FOOL AND COME OUT.

He telapathed with the wolf.

- you're getting better now, aren't you? -

He chuckled at the response of the wolf.

WHAT DO YOU THINK, I'D GET WORSE?

The wolf walked out from behind a fir tree.

- it's hard to say. most times you are dumb -

He didn't find any offense in that. Instead he resumed walking.

YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I HAVE BEEN THROUGH. IF YOU DO, YOU WOULD KNOW WHY I MUST MAKE THE BEST USE OF THIS FUCKING SYSTEM.

~ who knows, maybe the owner of the system took pity on your pathetic story before making you a host -

Damien couldn't help but stop walking, he spun around to the wolf, but she was no longer there.

"Where did that fool go just now?"

He scoffed then turned away. He didn't have much time to waste.

"What was that asshat talking about?"

He knocked the thoughts out. He kept on walking without looking at his back.

The orange sun sitting in the sky seemed moody. Why shouldn't she? The day was retreating too quickly that she didn't have much time to display her youthful pulchritude.

Finally, he got to the pond. He saw someone squatting by the pond, munching loudly and hungrily on something.

Seeing the torn back, dreadlocks and build of the person, it was very easy for Damien to tell who that was.

He stole silently, trying to creep on the cannibal. Hardly had he taken two steps when the Cannibal had spun around and crouched, ready to attack.

Realizing that it his Lugal, the Cannibal quickly bowed, whining before him.

"It's quite impressive. You didn't let your guard down. Really proves that this island is your home."

The Cannibal couldn't look Damien in the eyes. He dared not. It was a taboo. Whoever did it was to be killed on the spot.

"Punish me Lugal, I was stupid and senseless."

"Don't be hard on yourself, get up."

The Cannibal got up. Yet he couldn't raise his head.

"You won't look me in the eyes?"

"I dare not, Lugal."

Damien didn't want to push it further. He had left all the girls all by themselves. He had left them to continue training while he go to get what they would all eat. "What are you doing here alone?"

He wanted to add, IT'S DANGEROUS. But then he realized that he wasn't talking to ONE OF THE GIRLS here but a FUCKING CANNIBAL.

"To eat."

"To eat."

Damien repeated, nodding.

"You didn't really have to squat by the pond like that when you want to eat. It's barbaric and dumb. You should learn to sit and eat."

He paused for a moment to nurse a thought.

THERE'S A LOT TO TEACH THESE DUMBASSES.

He resort to words.

"First you collect the fish then find a place to sit. Or you could take it home."

"I can't take it home, Lugal."

"Why not?"

"It'll die and stink."

Damien stared at the Cannibal trying to understand what he meant by that.

"Oh, you mean you eat fresh fish... I mean fish that are alive?"

The Cannibal bowed in response.

"Oh."

Drake looked to his side.

"Even at that, you should get some sort of bowl, collect the fish and water then take it home."

The Cannibal dropped on his knees.

"Such wisdom, Lugal. There's no one as wise as you!!!"

Damien's lips gaped.

"This is not some sort of top-notch idea. It's something basic."

"Basic for you, Lugal because your wits is beyond all comprehension."

Damien figured out that there was no winning with the Cannibal on that topic. He didn't want to push further either. Plus, does it hurt to be idolized? Of course not!

Suddenly the eyes of the Cannibal widened,

"LUGAL!!!"

He charged, grabbed Damien and pushed him away. The Cannibal was exceptionally strong and agile. If Drake hadn't been adding flesh and getting stronger, he might had broken a bone or two at the contact. "What the hell do ---"

Damien realized that his argument wasn't necessary. The Cannibal himself was struggling.

A crocodile which had jumped out of the pond, almost snapping Damien into half was being wrestled with by the Cannibal.

HE SAVED ME?

He watched the Cannibal sit on the back of the crocodile which kept throwing its tails. No matter how many hits the Cannibal got on his back, he didn't for once flinch.

Now Drake understood where the scars on their backs came from.

The Cannibal grabbed both ends of the crocodile's mouth and struggled with them. After much effort, the crunching and breaking sound got to Damien.

The crocodile mouth dropped down, the tail slowly dropping, as the Cannibal bit into its back angrily. Kicking in rage.

"Enough, enough!!!"

His call calmed the Cannibal down, like when you power down a violent power generator.

The Cannibal stood up from the back of the dead crocodile.

COULD I HAVE DIED IF HE DIDN'T SAVE HIM.

He felt a chill crawl up his body. He realized that he had always been carefree because of the system. He had depended so much on the system that he no longer used his brain. Yea! That was what the new incident taught him. He took a deep breath.

"Thank you for saving me."

The Cannibal dropped on his knees,

"You scare me, Lugal."

HUH? I SCARE YOU?

He didn't know what meaning to make of it. Yet he decided not to probe further.

"Let's leave."

He called. He suddenly lost interest in everything. His life just flashed before his eyes. How wouldn't he lose all appetite?

Though he had promised the girls that he would treat them to something really nice tonight, because of their hard work, he didn't think he would be able to fulfill that promise. While himself and the Cannibal walked away from the pond, he heard a movement behind him. He looked.

He knew who that was.
