Convenient Marriage: Mr. Nelson's Love Trap

Chapter 19: He Loved the Feelings but He Shouldn’t

Dolores thought Matthew was being hypocritical. Wasn’t he also still with Helen? Besides, she and Sampson were only friends.
Why would Matthew get bothered this much?
“I never got involved with your personal life, and please don’t interfere with my private—”
Before she could finish her words, her lips were suddenly blocked. She had so much to say, but she could no longer speak.
“Hmm!” Dolores reacted and pushed him off.
At the same time, Matthew realized what he was doing and took a step back himself.
Matthew stared at Dolores incredulously. What had he just done? Helen was always trying to get close to him, and he didn’t have
the desire to do the same. But when he saw Dolores talking, he suddenly lost his mind and kissed her. He had lost control and
didn’t know why.
Besides that night, Dolores had never been intimate with anyone. Now she was ashamed and shocked by what he’d done.
“You! How dare you?” Dolores felt he had violated her.
Indeed, she sold her body once, but she wasn’t a slut any man could kiss or hug. How dare he!
Matthew turned his back to her. “You are my wife.”
So he could do anything intimate to her. Dolores’ eyes widened. What he said was ridiculous!
“We’re not husband and wife. It is just a deal!” Dolores’ voice shook.
She was afraid of having close contact with men again. That night was already a nightmare. She refused to be intimate with
anyone again after that night.
Dolores was too angry to notice Matthew’s strange reaction. She hadn’t noticed he was pretending to be calm in front of her. If
Dolores had been calm enough, she would’ve noticed that Matthew’s ears were red after kissing her.
“Even if it’s a deal, you didn’t say we couldn’t be intimate in this marriage like other couples.” He slowly turned around and
looked at Dolores, who almost lost her mind out of anger.

Matthew frowned, wondering why she would be so angry. His kiss wasn’t poisonous. Why would she be so angry after being
kissed? Was it possible she didn’t want any other man to touch her because of Sampson?
He walked to her slowly, “A man who can’t even protect his woman doesn’t deserve your love. He isn’t worthy of your love.”
Dolores didn’t understand what he said. What did he mean? Was he talking about Sampson?
Just when Dolores was about to explain, Matthew had calmed himself down, walked to the desk, and sat down. He leaned back
lazily, putting one hand casually on the table. His expression was so calm, as if nothing happened just now.
“I can give you the land in Repulse Bay, but...” He paused. “It’s not for free.”
Dolores clenched her hands, trying to stop them from uncontrollably shaking. She tried her best to calm herself down and ignore
what happened. After a while, she spoke calmly. “What do you want?”
Matthew lowered his eyes, and his voice was calm and small. “I haven’t thought of it yet. I‘ll tell you once I know what I want.”
Kissing her was probably the most impulsive thing he’d done in his life. It was unexpected. And his feelings weren’t under his
control.
Dolores pursed her lips. It wasn’t easy for her to take back what Randolph owed her and her mom. If she could get the power to
bargain with Randolph, it would be good.
But...
“I won't force you to do anything illegal, nor will I make you do anything against your morals.” Matthew seemed to understand her
worries and gave an irresistible offer.
After hesitating for a moment, Dolores responded. “Okay.”
She had nothing to her name, so what was she afraid to lose? If she could get back what was rightfully hers and Jessica’s
quickly, she could take her mother somewhere quiet and beautiful and start enjoying their life.
“I will repeat it one more time. As long as we’re married, you can’t cheat on me!” Whenever he remembered Dolores and
Sampson hugging, his rage flared again.
“Me and—”

Before she could say anything, Matthew interrupted her. “You can leave now!”
He didn't want to hear Dolores talk about her and Sampson. He wouldn’t be able to control himself if she should say anything
more.
Dolores opened her mouth, but finally turned and left without saying another word.
The moment the study door closed, all the calmness on Matthew’s face disappeared. He rubbed his forehead. He had been too
impulsive. Thinking of their short but impressive kiss, his finger slid across his lips. Somehow, he felt he could still smell her and
feel their kiss. He hadn’t noticed that while thinking about the kiss, his smile grew bigger and bigger. He knew he shouldn’t, but
he loved the feeling of kissing her so much. Her lips were soft, similar to Helen’s, but not exactly the same.
However, after that night, he still hadn’t had the same feeling towards Helen. Could it be because of his physical necessity that
night? Something about it just felt off, but he couldn’t figure it out.
Dolores didn’t want to stay after getting kicked out of the study. Jessica was still in the hospital and she had to take care of her.
As Dolores reached the door, Helen walked in, surprising both of the women.
Whenever Helen showed up, she was always wearing exquisite makeup, well-fitting clothes, and was overall beautiful and
dignified.
“Oh, are you leaving?” Helen asked with a smile.
“Yeah,” Dolores said, trying to walk around Helen.
She didn’t want to be any closer to Helen. She seemed innocent outside, but she wasn’t on the inside.
“Ms. Flores, you’re pregnant with someone else’s child. The reason Matthew married you was only because his mother asked
him to do so. I’m the one he loves. I hope you understand and leave him alone.”
What Helen said was straightforward. Of course, Dolores understood what she meant. Dolores knew Helen was the one
Matthew loved. Why did Helen keep mentioning it to her? Was she showing off?
Dolores smiled. “I know who I am to him. You don’t need to remind me all the time.”
Helen was speechless for a moment. She frowned and hadn’t expected Dolores would be so mature at such a young age.

At this moment, she noticed the study door opening and noticed a blurred figure. She immediately knew it was Matthew and
suddenly got a great idea. She reached out to push Dolores. Dolores, being pregnant, was extremely protective of her stomach.
As Helen was about to touch Dolores, Dolores reflexively pushed back.
“Ah!” Helen was wearing high heels and lost her balance.
Matthew, who had just walked out of the study, saw the whole thing and stepped over to catch Helen as she was about to fall.
Being held so tightly in Matthew’s arms, Helen’s heartbeat increased rapidly. She stretched her arms around his neck, acting
very frightened.
“Matthew...” Helen didn’t say anything more, but gave him a frightened expression.
When Dolores came back to her senses, she raised her head and saw Matthew staring at her.
“Why do you do this?”
Just when Dolores tried to explain, Helen interrupted, shaking her head. “I’m fine now. It’s not Ms. Flores’ fault.”
Dolores didn’t understand why Helen would do something like that. Dolores’ marriage with Matthew was only an agreement. Why
would Helen bother to go through the trouble of framing her? What was Helen afraid of?
Dolores ignored Matthew’s question and spoke calmly. “I didn’t do anything. Believe whatever you want, but I have said what I
could.”
After that, Dolores turned and walked out of the villa. She wouldn’t admit to something she hadn’t done. She’d allow no one to
hurt her child. If it happened again, she’d just do the same.
“Stop!”
