Chapter 68

“Alpha Theo,” he said, starting with the ceremony. “Please make her wear the ring.”

Theo took the ring from Winn and made her wear it. Carmine’s breath lodged in her throat when she saw the wedding ring. He had already given a beautiful diamond ring when he proposed to her and this was even more beautiful with a pink diamond perched on the top.

She turned to take the ring from Sloane, one that she had bought yesterday. It was a simple gold band, which was the only thing she could afford. When she sl*pped in on Theo’s finger, she could sense his surprise and she smiled softly. Theo brought it to his l*ps and k*ssed it, causing her to blush.

“This is the best gift I’ve ever received in my life,” he murmured.

The Shaman smiled at his Alpha. Among the many ceremonies he had overseen, none made his Alpha beam as much as this one. On that note, he turned towards the statue

of the Moon Goddess.

On a raised platform stood a majestic marble statue of the moon goddess. Surprise crossed Carmine’s face as she lifted her gaze to silently pray to the goddess. There was a stark resemblance between the face of the statue and the woman she encountered while running away from the Blue Moon pack.

Her face was so vivid in her memories that sometimes she dreamed of it. The woman possessed a flowing silvery mane that reached her thighs, exuding an otherworldly allure. The goddess’s face had a tranquil expression that she couldn’t ignore.

But

this wasn’t what Carmine ever expected. Maybe this was just a coincidence. Just as she was about to speak, the Shaman interrupted her with his own words. She snapped her wide gaze to him.

“You hand, Luna Carmine,” he repeated, giving her a look of amusement.

Carmine bit her bottom l*p, wondering if she didn’t hear him the first time and whether she was imagining and gave her hand to him. The Shaman retracted a knife from the hand of the statue. When he pulled the knife casily, he gasped. “Usually, this knife is very difficult to be pulled out,” he murmured in surprise. After taking a quick breath, he went on to slice her palm.

Carmine saw he had already sliced Theo’s palm Shaman took her hand and joined

their hands. Their bloods mixed and trickled down their wrist. As soon as it touched

their wrist, it transformed into a red mist. A thin strand of that red mist circled around their wrists and looped around their joined hands.

Everyone who was in the sanctum gasped at this unique occurrence.

“I’ve never seen this before,” the Shaman said as he looked at the occurrence with wide

eyes.

As something heavy tugged at their hearts, Carmine and Theo sensed their bond. strengthening. Their hearts momentarily ceased, only to resume beating in perfect.

A thunder roared outside, and the skies turned inky black. Lightnings distance. Wolves howled in unison. It was as if every werewolf in the world was a witness to this union. Theo had this crazy urge to shift and howl with them. Locking eyes with Carmine, he sensed she was feeling the same thing. All the werewolves, who surrounded the couple except Thor, knelt on the ground and inclined their n*ecks in submission.

The Shaman held their hands and separated them. A jolt of electricity passed through him when he caught Carmine’s wrist. It was something he had never experienced before. “This is bizarre,” he said. “I’ve never seen a union like this! Even the goddess agrees to it.”

Carmine and Theo took ragged breaths as they stared at each other. Their world tilted on its axis and then started spinning fast. She felt weak in her knees and butt before she could stumble he caught her in his arms and steadied her against his chest. “Carmine…” he murmured, as if she was his world.

“Theo…” she responded in a soft whisper, looking at him through her veil.

Moments later, when the sensation passed, the Shaman said, “You may k*ss the bride.”

Theo lifted her veil. Cupping her cheeks, he lowered his l*ps to her and k*ssed her slowly, taking his time. She gave into his k*ss and opened her mouth for him like a flower blooming in the sun. His eyes burned with intensity as he looked at her after moving away.

The Shaman coughed a little to divert their attention. Carmine immediately took a step back, giggling. He took their hands in his and walked out, with the rest of the audience following him. When they reached out, Carmine and Theo gasped, astonished to see. that some werewolves were shifting back while some had knelt on the ground.

“I present to you the Alpha and the Luna of the Gold Moon pack!” The Shaman declared.

As soon as he announced it, Theo came next to her. The wolves who hadn’t shifted. tipped their heads up and howled while the others bowed. The moon emerged from behind the dark clouds, illuminating the bride and groom with its brilliant beams.. When the moonbeams fell on Carmine, a soft halo formed around her b*dy and

The whole scenario was so mesmerizing that a silence spread all over as every pair of eyes fixed on their Alpha and Luna.

“Moon goddess is in harmony with this wedding. “No force could stop this from happening.” The Shaman declared, gazing at Carmine, “I would like to meet your parents.”

The wolves parted to form a way when the Alpha and Luna started to walk out of the premises of the temple. Some women showered flower petals on the newly wedded.

When Carmine and Theo were in the car, Theo couldn’t help holding her hand in his large ones, as a feeling of possessiveness and protection swelled in his chest. It’s not that. he had those feelings for her already, but now they were a hundred times multiplied. It was as if he had in his hands the precious treasure given by the Moon Goddess. Riding in silence, they finally arrived at the venue for the wedding dinner:

Theo rushed to her side and offered her his arm. ‘Stay with me, wife,’ he said.

“I will,” she replied and jerked her head back. She didn’t hear him say the words out. aloud. “I… heard your thoughts…” she said, her wide eyes on him.

He turned and hugged her, burying his face in the crook of her n*eck. “We are one… I don’t know what happened out there, Carmine, but I could feel it in my heart that… this. was what the goddess wanted.”

She curled her arms around his shoulders and pressed her face into his chest. “I can’t agree more, Theo, but there’s something I want to tell you.” She wanted to tell him about the face of the statue in the temple.

He offered her his arm, “Let’s get over this dinner first, because I also have many things to tell you,” he said and winked.

She chuckled, shaking her head. Gathering her train in her hand, she climbed up the stairs of the city hall. Upon entering the main hall, their attention was immediately drawn to Kade, Ruby, and Ivy, who stood right in the middle.
