Chapter 5
Chapter 5.
Zora
I turned around to see who was yelling from behind.
They were Moonhunter’s warriors. I had no way to run.
And then I looked at the car again, Lori had tried to close the door while the car was moving, and Casey was wrapping his arm around her shoulder.
I stared straight at them, I would have been sad about this departure if he wasn’t doing all that while looking right at me.
Goodbye, Casey.
“Put your hand behind your back, we need to tie you up.” The warrior reminded me, I finally turned back to look at them with cold eyes.
“There’s no need, I won’t run away. I am the Luna of the Magic Fang pack.”
He raised his eyebrow at my confession.
“Okay, but don’t try anything, we have surrounded this place, you can’t run away.”
Where could I possibly run away to? Casey left me here. He didn’t even look back when he drove off with his true mate.
“I won’t.”
I followed them back to our Pack House, it seemed that they were gathering people there. Once I entered the hall, I saw familiar but unexpected faces. Eloise and Summer were here as well. Then I remembered Alpha Cruz and Alpha Asher, they drove to pick Casey up, but they left them behind…
Just like Casey left me behind.
I looked at Eloise and Summer, Eloise’s hair was a mess, it was like she was dragged here, and her clothes were a bit torn as well. Summer was in worse shape, I guessed she didn’t have time to wear makeup to cover her bruises, she looked black and blue all over, some were from Alpha Asher, and some were from the warriors that brought her here.
As soon as Eloise saw me, her eyes lit up like she had seen hope, but the light in her eyes quickly died down as she saw I was escorted here as well.
“Why didn’t you run away?” I couldn’t help but ask, it was not like her Alpha’s true mate got in the car as well.
“I couldn’t. He forced me to stall them. He had someone to escort his true mate to leave safely, but he asked me to stay behind to ‘protect’ our pack.” She made an air quote, “Because I am the Luna. But I guess now he could be with her without me.” Eloise finished with a bitter smile.
“I woke up and they were already there, I almost didn’t get the chance to dress. I guess he just left me as soon as he knew.” Summer said as she looked down at her feet.
“What about you, how did you get here? You should be able to get away.” Eloise asked me.
“I was going to, but Casey let Lori in first and then he left me there once he saw the warriors were close behind.”
“What? Casey drove off without you?”
“No… Alpha Cruz was driving the car with Alpha Asher…”
“They just ran away with their true mates and left us here?” Summer exclaimed in disbelief.
“It’s a shame, you are really too kind to her. If you left with Casey, and she was left here, maybe you and Casey could be like you used to be.” Eloise said in pity.
“We couldn’t get back to how we used to be no matter what now.” I also smiled bitterly and looked down. Not with what happened.
Someone entered and I heard the commotion. I only noticed that most of the captives here were women and children. How disgusting, Casey forgot to do his job because of Lori, and now the Moonhunter was here, and they just left the women and children here to die.
They swore to protect the Pack, where are they now when we need them the most?
“Lunas, please step up.” A guy looked to be the Beta of the Moonhunter’s Pack said. Eloise Summer and I looked at each other confused and stepped up with the other few Lunas, we were then ordered to stand in a line.
“Women without mates, please step up.” And I saw some women step up, they were led to stand behind us in a line as well.
“Women with mates, please step up.” They were put in a line behind women without mates.
What were they doing? I had a really bad feeling about this.
“You are lucky today, our high-ranking werewolves will choose some of you to be their bed warmers.”
At this, all the women gasped.
“I would take one Luna, it must be great to have a Luna as a s*x slave.” I heard someone from the “high-ranking werewolves” say this.
“You can’t do this to the captives! This is against the regulation of the werewolf union!” I yelled out, I couldn’t let them do this to us! I needed to protect my people even without our Alpha!
I heard someone snicker. I turned to look at the source of the sound, it was the same guy that was making vulgar comments. He then walked up to me and grabbed my face with a disgustingly cringy smirk on his face.
“Well. I’d like to see what you can do about that then.”
My blood boiled when I heard this, without thinking, my body reacted before my brain did, and I reached out to his n*ck to choke him. He wasn’t expecting a Luna like me to fight back, so he didn’t stop me fast enough.
His fellow pack members quickly reacted, they all went over trying to grab me, they wanted me to break the hold of that guy since I was choking him to death.
But I managed to adjust the position, now I was using him as a shield. They didn’t dare to come near me because my hand was still on his n*ck. They were afraid that I would actually choke him to death.
“Let her go.”
There was a sudden voice from the door, and the air in the room shifted. I thought I heard him wrong. Did he say let her go or let him go? The voice was low but the tone was commanding, like there was no room for resistance.
I looked up to see who said that. Sure enough, it was the Moonhunter himself. His name was Warren Fahey. He wasn’t the Alpha of any Pack, rather, he was the strongest Alpha of America.
The others backed down as he walked towards me. And the way he carried himself, you could tell that he was the strongest Alpha, he was nothing like Casey, Cruz, or all the other Alphas I had seen. They were no match for him.
Finally, he stopped in front of me, due to his intimidating height, he was towering over me.
He pushed that guy away, but just when I let go of the grip I had on that guy’s n*ck. The Moonhunter took the opportunity to pin me down on the ground. He didn’t use his full force on me, just enough for me to feel his strength.
He bent down to my level and reached out to grip my chin. He was so close I could feel his hot breath on my face, weirdly, I didn’t hate that. And his cold cedar scent was wafting up to my nose.
It was one thing to listen to the legend of him, it was another to actually see him in person. Stood at 6 feet 4, and he was tall and well-built. He was wearing tight-fitting battle gear, one could faintly see his muscle outline through the clothes.
As if his build wasn’t intimidating enough, his aura was the strongest I had ever seen. Was that why he is the strongest Alpha or the other way around? His aura was so strong that it made him the strongest Alpha.
And… He was so infuriatingly handsome. His build alone would be scary, but with his dirty blonde hair, chiseled jawline, his Egyptian blue eyes that you could swim in, any woman would be easily drawn by him.
And then I heard his low and commanding voice again.
“What do you think we should be treating our captives?” He asked me, seemingly genuinely caring about my answer.
“What you are doing is wrong! I would not cave in!” I said to him.
Then he smirked, I thought I must be imagining it. But then I heard him say.
“I’ll take you as my bedmate.”
