Keziah was dizzy after an exhilarating lunch. She looked out from the eighty–eighth floor. The entire cityscape unfolded before her eyes.

Meanwhile, Victor was still unsatisfied and continued kissing her ear. With her delicate hand, Keira pushed him away weakly and coaxed tenderly, “Lunchtime is almost up. They are waiting for you to attend the meeting!”

Tll have someone send you back. Have a good rest.” Victor affectionately pecked Keira’s lips before reluctantly letting her go. “My secretary will collect these.”

Keira wanted to call Sue into the room to gather the lunchboxes with her. However, she recalled how Carlisle looked at her, like she was the cause of all calamities and gave up on the ide

Victor’s smile barely faded even after Keira left.

When Victor returned to the meeting room, the directors noticed how radiant he looked and began to speculate in their minds. However, today’s meeting was complicated, and Victor was dissatisfied with their recent work. Thus, no one wanted to. gossip about his private affairs.

The department head trembled as he stepped forward to present his project report. He was so nervous that he almost dropped his documents. Recalling how merciless Victor had scolded him this morning when he started presenting the department head felt he was in severe trouble.

Unexpectedly, Victor did not rebuke him this time. Instead, he took a moment to compose himself, allowing the department head to complete his presentation After pointing out the fundamental issues, Victor made no harsh comments. He only said he would review the project proposal after it was amended.

The department head was so shocked that he remained stunned after stepping down from the podium. He felt he was dreaming. Only in dreams would the president be so amiable.

It was already past dinner time when the day’s meeting ended. Despite this, Victor planned to finish reviewing the documents before heading home

Meanwhile, Carlisle was happy that the board of directors had no objections to the upcoming development project and that all issues had been addressed satisfactorily. Seeing that there was no one in the president’s office, he pushed the door open and announced, “Victor, want to go to Messier tonight?”

“No, I’m going home, Victor answered without looking up. He finished dealing with the documents that required his signature before picking up his coat to leave.

But Carlisle held him back and explained, “My sister has just returned from studying abroad this afternoon, and we want to welcome her. You know, she gave up a high–paying job and went overseas, all for your daughter. Even if you don’t care about me, you should consider her feelings.”

Victor frowned.

Luna was sickly and had trouble sleeping, However, no medical or holistic doctor could identify the reason. Therefore, Otto suggested he consult a psychiatrist to see if Luna’s condition stemmed from psychological issues.

The Longhall family made their fortune in the pharmaceutical industry, and the members of that family were experts in this field. However, Carlisle’s sister, Cynthia Longhall, specialized in psychiatry. After learning about Luna’s situation, Cynthia offered to help her. She even gave up a prestigious position abroad and returned to provide Luna with psychological counseling.

As Cynthia was well–known in her field, she occasionally needed to visit her mentor. This time, she went abroad to discuss Luna’s unique condition with her mentor to see if there were other ways to alleviate Luna’s pain.

Seeing Victor’s expression finally soften, Carlisle was satisfied and left his office.

Messier was a popular bar with noisy music and dazzling light, giving it an exhilarating atmosphere.

Otto chatted animatedly with a seemingly innocent girl, making her burst into laughter.

On the other side, Cynthia wore a white shirt with black ruffled shorts, which showcased her long and slender legs, making her look pure yet sensual. She had her hair in a high ponytail, with wispy bangs framing her adorable round face. However, a

tinge of melancholy shadowed her expression as her lively eyes kept glancing toward the door.

“Cyn, why the long face? Carlisle put down his glass and sat beside Cynthia, caressing her bangs.

“Didn’t Victor say he would be coming? Why isn’t he here yet?” Her eyes were fixed on the door, eagerly waiting for Victor to

arrive.

Seeing Cynthia so obsessed with Victor, Carlisle shook his head helplessly. “Cyn, I know you liked Victor since we were kids, but he’s married and has children. Even if you persist, you won’t have any future with him.

Cynthia snapped out of her thoughts and saw the fatigue in Carlisle’s eyes. She quickly concealed her reluctance, saying, “Carlisle, what are you thinking? Of course, I know he has children. I don’t expect anything from him. All I want is to stay close and see him every day.”

However, her voice became softer, and her expression turned dull.

Seeing Cynthia so disheartened, Carlisle could not help but pity her. “Cynthia, you’re an outstanding young lady. Victor must be blind for failing to see it.”

“Brother, don’t speak ill of him. He’s not that kind of person. If Keira treats him well, I think I can let go. But I can’t move with how Keira mistreats and humiliates Victor.” Cynthia became so upset that tears began to well up in her eyes.

Just then, the door to the private lounge opened. Victor still wore the same gray jacket from work but had changed his shirt into one with an even darker shade of black, making him appear even more composed and dignified.

Cynthia’s heart skipped a beat when she met Victor’s gaze. She stood up and excitedly flung herself toward him. “Victor, you finally came.”

Victor disdainfully sidestepped her, rebuffing her attempt to cling to him.

The music in the private lounge had been turned down. Everyone stopped speaking when they saw that Victor had arrived. Those who were familiar with him came over to greet him

Victor nodded slightly. When the door opened completely, Cynthia finally saw Keira holding Victor’s hand. She stood behind him, smiling radiantly

On the other hand, Carlisle rubbed his eyes in disbelief.

“Is that Keira? Has she been possessed? What kind of game is she playing now?” Carlisle exclaimed. He forcefully pushed Otto, who was sitting calmly next to him.

Otto patted the spot where Carlisle had pushed and glanced at him. “Stop behaving like a fool.”

Carlisle glared at the woman in Otto’s arms. Once she left, he whispered to Otto, “Has she changed her strategy? You’re often at Victor’s house. Why didn’t you warn him?”

“Do you think Victor couldn’t figure out what your limited intelligence could come up with?” Otto snorted and looked at Carlisle as if he was an idiot. “Mind your own business. Keira is not someone we can mess with”

Meanwhile, Cynthia stood still after Victor pushed her away, unsure how to react.

“Ms. Sunter?” She could not believe that Keira would attend the gathering with Victor. This had never happened before.

Keira wore a black chiffon dress that matched Victor’s black shirt. She had delicate makeup, accentuating her captivating foxlike eyes, making them even more sparkling. Seeing Cynthia, she smiled and winked playfully. “Don’t be shy. You can call me Mr. Byrom.”
