“The Sunter family’s fortune is enough for us to enjoy a lifetime of wealth and luxury Recalling Victor’s cold and ruthless gaze and intimidating demeanor, Keziah shuddered and interrupted Linda’s imagination. “Mom, getting Victor’s fortune is like playing with fire. His mood is unpredictable. I don’t want to ruin myself!”

She continued, “As for Joseph, he’s only a tool to restrain Keira. Once I find someone better, I can replace him anytime.”

Seeing Keziah’s cautious expression, Linda sighed and walked away. She wondered if her daughter took after her ex- husband’s appearance. Keziah was cute but lacked beauty.

Keziah had started in the entertainment industry with Keira and remained unnoticed by Keira’s side until Keira left the industry. Then, with the Sunter family’s investment and marketing, Keziah gained some fame with a pure and innocent image.

If Keziah had Keira’s face, wouldn’t Victor be my son–in–law? Why would she need to struggle in the entertainment industry

Then there’s the matter with Richard. It has been so long, and he still hasn’t brought up the formal recognition ceremony for Kiki or handed over the company’s affairs to us.

It seems I must come up with a plan.

Keira slept until the afternoon with Luna in her arms. By the time she woke up, Victor had already gone to the company.

The warm little bundle in her arm looked up and saw Keira holding her. Her big, round eyes twinkled with excitement and surprise.

Good morning, darling!” Keira’s eyes crinkled as she smiled. She kissed the little girl’s tender forehead.

The little girl blushed. She nuzzled Keira’s shoulder shyly and answered sweetly, “Good morning, Mommy!”

“Are you feeling better?” Keira touched Luna’s face.

Luna fiddled with her messy little braids and replied shyly, “Mommy, I will recover faster if you say good morning to me every day!”

Meanwhile, Lucien and Landon were full of energy. After taking a break, they decided to go to the garden to see the newly planted flowers. To their surprise, they saw Keziah waiting in the living room as soon as they descended the stairs.

Keziah wore an elegant Chanel dress, and her tasteful makeup gave her a refined and innocent appearance. As Keira had always favored Keziah, the servants treated Keziah with utmost care.

At this moment, Keziah had her legs crossed and showed a hint of anger on her face. Why is Keira making me wait for so long?

When she saw Lucien and Landon coming downstairs, a trace of resentment flashed across her face. Although she quickly concealed her emotions, Lucien still sensed her unfriendliness. Thus, he grabbed Landon to go upstairs temporarily,

Unexpectedly, Keziah followed them upstairs.

You’re Lucien and Landon, right? I’m your aunt. Why didn’t you greet me?” Keziah’s voice was sickly sweet. Moreover, with her youthful and beautiful appearance, she seemed like a friendly person from a distance.

If Lucien and Landon were ordinary children, her appearance might have deceived them. However, as far as they could remember, their mother would argue with their father whenever Keziah visited. Thus, they had a natural aversion to Keziah even though they did not know why.

Landon pouted and tried to run faster while pulling Lucien, but Keziah caught his arm

“You bad woman! Let go of me! Keziah’s grip quickly left marks on Landon’s arm as he struggled. “Or else, I’ll call Daddy to deal with you!”

You children are rude. As your aunt, I must discipline you, and your mother won’t stop me.” Keziah said sternly, pinching Landon’s hand with increasing force.

Lucien turned around anxiously and pounced on Keziah, but Keziah dodged his attack, causing him to fall to the ground.

After Keira finished applying ointment on Luna, she left the room, holding the little girl. She happened to witness this scene.

“What’s going on?” Keira’s gaze fell on the disheveled Lucien and Landon. A wave of anger surged within her.

Hearing her voice, Keziah looked up and saw Keira. She slowly released the boys.

“Sis, I’ve been waiting for you for a long time.” She seemed delighted to see Keira. Then, she lowered her voice, saying, “I have something to discuss with you.”

All the while, she smiled as if hurting the two boys meant nothing to her.

Mr. Cruz rushed upstairs after hearing the commotion and explained, “It’s my fault, Mrs. Byrom. You and Luna were asleep, so I didn’t wake you

The butler had wanted to inform Keira about Keziah’s arrival. However, he saw that Keira and Luna were asleep and recalled they did not get enough rest due to the emergency last night. As such, he did not knock on the door but instructed the servants to attend to Keziah more attentively and asked her to wait a while.

Furthermore, afraid that Keziah might grow impatient, Mr. Cruz took the opportunity to explain last night’s situation. It was only fifteen minutes since he finished explaining it to her.

Seeing Keira burning with anger, Mr. Cruz felt even more uneasy. He had always known how important Keziah was to Keira. This time, to let Luna sleep a bit longer, he had taken matters into his own hands. He hoped that Keira would not take out her anger on the children.

Keira nodded slightly, indicating that she understood Mr. Cruz’s explanation.

Seeing her two precious boys on the floor and their eyes red from crying, Keira’s anger surged as she looked at Keziah’s

innocent face.

She put Luna down and walked over, gently helping Lucien and inspecting Landon’s reddened arm.

Then, she turned to face Keziah. Although Keziah dressed beautifully like a fairy with a gentle and kind expression, her eyes flickered with calculation and deceit. Keira regretted how foolish she was in her previous life to be deceived by Keziah for so long. She had even believed Keziah’s words and hurt her children’s hearts.

With that in mind, Keira approached Keziah angrily, swinging her arm and delivering a resounding slap.

A loud smack rang throughout the house. Keziah was caught off guard and lost her balance in her high heels, falling heavily

to the floor.

Lucien had braced himself to protect his younger brother. They could never gain any advantage in any conflicts with Keziah Previously, Landon was beaten because of Keziah’s instigation. Lucien even thought that if Keira believed Keziah’s claim and punished Landon, he would move out with his siblings and care for them.

However, the unexpected occurred, and Keira’s slap stunned Keziah and the three children.

“Sis, why did you hit me?” Keziah widened her eyes in disbelief. She looked at Keira with tears in her eyes. Furthermore, her left cheek was swollen, with a noticeable red handprint.

B*ich! How dare she hit me!

Keziah was consumed with anger but appeared even more vulnerable outwardly. She needed Keira to do something for her and could not afford to quarrel with her.

“You’re asking why I hit you?” Keira clenched her fist and stared at Keziah murderously.

“Who are you to bully my son in my house?” Keira shielded all three children behind her, glaring at Keziah like an enraged lioness

Landon had already rushed to his younger sister’s side and covered her eyes. “Don’t be scared. Mommy is dealing with

villain!”

Lucien also took a few steps back, protecting his younger brother and sister behind him. He felt an overwhelming warmth as

he observed the slender figure before him.

Is this what it feels like to be protected by my mother
