Cherry Dryad ( gxb )

Chapter 4

“I realize how long ago we last saw each other... that I had the impression that it was just a dream and not real,” Vivienne finally said, breaking the awkward silence that had developed between them.

At first, the blonde was going to tell him that she actually forgot about him, but something inside her told her not to. The more she wanted to say it, the more it told her not to. She felt with her whole being that if she said these words, she would no longer feel safe in this place. Especially since she had no idea how he would react to it. And certainly not gently, Vivienne was one hundred percent sure of that.

“W-what am I doing…,” Vivienne said after a while, just in time to break out of the strange trance that had almost caused her to touch the crystal.

At the last moment, she managed to stop her hand, which was almost reaching for this mysterious crystal. A crystal that had appeared in place of the plant that had been there, and now there was no trace of it left. Vivienne realized that the tree couldn't get up from the ground and go away, so where did it go? It was a good question, but she suspected that the crystal had something to do with his disappearance, not to mention the boy she met in a strange place.

With each passing moment, she felt more and more like she was starting to lose her mind over seeing her ex-boyfriend and her ex-friend in bed together. Because what other explanation could Vivienne have for all this? With each passing moment, she felt more and more confused and had more questions than answers. Either way, Vivienne couldn't leave the crystal in such a place, otherwise her mother would mistake it for something else. And, as we all know, she wouldn't want anything because she didn't know where the boy from her dream was.

“Who would have thought that a childhood friend really was a fantastic being…,” Vivienne muttered under her breath, slowly getting up from the sofa to take the crystal in her hand.

No wonder she couldn't find a suitable boyfriend. Even the one who cheated on her with her own friend wasn't the one she was looking for. She sighed heavily and finally, after some approach, she took the crystal in her hand. The crystal, which started out as cold as ice and without any shine, and then began to become hotter and hotter by the moment, also gaining brilliance, for a moment Vivienne felt as if she had imagined it, but when she lifted it to get a better look at it, she she changed her mind in this respect.

The heat was getting stronger with each passing moment, as was the light that came out of it. Until finally she had to close her eyes and let go of the stone because she couldn't see or hold it. A few moments passed before the girl opened her eyes again to see where the crystal had gone. However, there was no trace of him left, which confused her even more.

“Where did he go?,” Vivienne squealed after a while, with a look of horror on her face.

She started looking around the living room for him, but she couldn't find him anywhere. She looked in every corner, under the furniture, but there was no trace of him. Her heart started pounding because she had no idea what she would say when he asked her where that stupid crystal was.

“Well, he couldn't have just evaporated, right?,” Vivienne asked after a long moment as she walked past the mirror to sit back on the couch.

At first, her mind continued to wander around the stone before she noticed something strange on her cleavage out of the corner of her eye. No wonder she returned to the mirror after she passed it, because something in the back of her mind was bothering her.

“What's going on?,” Vivienne muttered under her breath, hoping it was just a play of light.

However, when she looked at her reflection again, she realized that it was not a play of light. And on her neckline, on the right side, there was a kind of cherry blossom tattoo. What a girl wouldn't call a tattoo, but rather something like a birthmark.

“Who would have thought that this stupid stone would do such a trick to me,” Vivienne muttered under her breath, just after she fell helplessly onto the couch.

Truth be told, she expected everything, but not this turn of events.

Then she heard Kasumi's voice in her head, “You don't have to be afraid of anything. He wants me to find you as quickly as possible if you are in any danger. Plus, thanks to it, we will be able to communicate if technology fails!”

No wonder Vivienne got up from the sofa as if she had been scalded, looking for the place where the voice came from.

As if on command, she heard his voice again, “Don't look for me, because I'm not with you. I communicate with you through my mind!”

“Really, then, where are you?,” Vivienne asked after a while, still a bit confused.

At the same time realizing that he won't get answers to everything at this point.

With amusement evident in his tone, Kasumi continued, “I know you have a lot of questions, but this isn't a good time for me to answer them. And for now, I can't tell you where he is because I have to take care of a lot of things before I can meet you.”

Vivienne wasn't at all happy with what she was currently hearing from him. However, she felt she had to leave the rest of the questions until she met him.

“If you think so, no problem! I hope you will let me know when we can meet?,” Vivienne replied after a while to his words, and then asked a question at the end.

This is to make sure that he contacts her so that she doesn't wait in vain. This was all she had left, although she was aware that this was not the end of the attractions that awaited her.

She was brought out of her thoughts by Kasumi's next words, “Of course, I'll let you know when I can meet you!”

At the sound of these words, Vivienne breathed a sigh of relief, because she was afraid that he would not speak.

“Well then, see you soon!,” Vivienne announced after a while, without expecting an answer from him.

And that's what happened, because she didn't hear from him an answer to her last words. No wonder she sighed heavily and closed her eyes for a moment to sort everything out. Too much had happened in this short time and she had more and more questions than answers. And even more so, whether she really went crazy and simply got a tattoo in a delirium and then forgot about it. Which was rather ridiculous, because the tattoo appeared right after the crystal was touched and evaporated. She sighed heavily again and opened her eyes again to focus on the ceiling.

With each passing moment, she was more and more sure that she was not crazy and that the voice she heard in her head was real. Therefore, the man from the dream and his voice were very real. So now all she had to do was wait until she could meet him, because only then would she be 100% sure that he was real. Only then did she realize that she hadn't asked him why he couldn't meet her face to face right away. But it was too late and she didn't feel like trying to contact him.
